I dunno. Possibly not. The fact is though, at this moment in time, Aberdeen are top of the league and Celtic are 2nd. We are directly competing with them. A senior AFC employee being seen to support a direct competitor is unacceptable IMO.

As Vanderark says, the difference between Celtic and Arbroath is that one is a direct rival, one isn't. And yes, he's allowed free time. However spending his free time supporting a rival is unacceptable. McGinn has a duty, in the same way that any professional person does, to conduct himself professionally and maintain the best interests of his employer outside work. If I made an arse of myself outside work I'd expect to be sacked by my employer. Now, I don't want McGinn sacked but a boot in the baws and a word in the ear are definitely required.

What relevance does achievements 10 years ago have to the talkshite wankathon about his 2 goals vs AFC Wimbledon? People hate him because he's a cowardly thug on the field (tackle vs Naysmith as perfect evidence), a cowardly thug off the field (getting his mates to hold someone while he laid in to them), a massive fecking cheat (dives in just about every game he plays, including a massive act of cheating in the Champions League Final that Liverpool won). He's been a very good football player, although one who cares more about personal glory than doing what's best for the team IMO. To say you can't understand why folk would dislike him is pretty baffling to me.
