  1. Good for you Killie. Like Phart says its been a particularly tough time for teachers. My oldest daughter is a secondary teacher and my youngest is at Uni training to become a primary teacher. She is in her 3rd year and she has literally just finished her 1st placement in a school. She only has 1 and a half yrs left at Uni , there will be a lot of expectation from newly qualified teachers yet they have not had the level of practical experience they normally have at this stage.
  2. Green goddess is 81 ! 😳 She looks better than I do at 58. Anyone got a spare VCR ? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/health/coronavirus/why-the-green-goddess-has-brought-out-a-new-fitness-dvd-aged-81-2913523%3famp
  3. Aye , and it would be a bugger trying to drill out that sun umbrella from the patio. Best just buy a second 5 bed 😁 Thanks for the information . Not that it means a thing to me but will pass it onto someone who has a clue.
  4. There is no list of approved suppliers or fitters. You can buy both types of alarms online or in store from a number of retailers, and any qualified electrician can fit the mains-wired type. I believe @dandydunnhas just put down a cash deposit on a 10 bed mansion.
  5. The IT guy in my work mentioned it to me the other day and I said the exact same thing re the expense. Thing is your home insurance could be void if you dont comply.
  6. Finished it last night and agree with this. The first episode of the second tranche of this final series( episode 6) I thought to myself ‘ sigh, they are just padding it out with shoot scenes and high octane music’ . But they pulled it back and I ended up enjoying the final series too, even though it wasnt up there with the earlier ones. Also watched one of the ‘behind the scenes ‘ documentaries which was quite good. You get the feeling the actors all loved being involved in it and not just because of its success.
  7. I was referring to the ‘celebrity dentist’ tag which is petty. Some folk will find him condescending others will find the fact he speaks in basic language refreshing. Like N Sturgeon’s briefings, I never listen to them, so have no opinion on him.
  8. 😂 It must be an old fitness workout if its on VHS. It’s probably The Green Goddess no wonder you never see it ! 😁
  9. 😂 I think the glass table must be new as there is no way it would have survived the last 10 years in one piece.
  10. 😂😂 cheeky bassa, the snake was the top news story of the day under a ‘ Christmas tree news’ google search. I need to keep this thread going and it was either that or another picture of my xmas decorations. The story could have been improved if 2 gin sodden elves had snared the snake with the help of a frigid spinster 😁
  11. The celebrity dentist comments are childish beyond belief and confirm one thing, thank fook we have a celebrity dentist in charge than the google experts that think they know everything. You are right, there has to be additional funding for hospitality.
  12. I just dont think NS will get away with a long lockdown , there will be a rebellion . I could be wrong though.
  13. I do think any upcoming restrictions will be short lived but its the uncertainty of whether or not these circuit breakers will ever end is the problem..People are living their lives with no way of planning anything at all.
  14. Wow , a new entry and its another cracker ! Like Chaff’s tree , it lights up the space beautifully. Thanks Fairbairn for showing your tree, unlike the Ebenezer Scrooges on here . I also have to say you have a very clean house. Did Mrs F have you polishing up that floor before you took the pic ? You are putting me to shame I had better up my standards before Mr Tidy trades me in for a wummin that actually is tidy 😁
  15. I can understand how you feel and tend to agree.
  16. The worry is folk continue to just get over it. There is no shame in admitting you ( i am meaning generally here not you specifically) are gutted. I feel there is a bit of an expectation still that everyone should just accept its for the greater good and to sound pissed off is selfish. I think we have to just go for it at some point, though the middle of winter may not be the best time. The folk not wearing masks pisses me off I have to say but generally I am at a stage where I think we need to move on.
  17. Some sort of lockdown is inevitable. There have been loads of cancellations here too. My emails are full of messages from restaurants saying ‘ last minute availability’. Its an absolute shit situation. Had our Christmas night out a week past on Friday in a really popular restaurant in Glasgow and it was very quiet. The public are not going to put up with this for much longer. There will need to be evidence of serious bed shortages for people to adhere to any more lock downs. I am beginning to think people have forgot how to socialise which in itself is a concern.
  18. Thinking anyone is desperate for a lockdown is totally ludicrous. Nicola Sturgeon got a lot of praise for the way she handled the pandemic for the most part . So, as well as unnecessarily killing the economy , why on earth would she continue to risk that goodwill by pushing the boundaries? Question the science by all means if you feel you have the knowledge or information to challenge it , or her decision making , but to say she is desperate to lock the country down is just not true. Its amazing how everyone has become viral experts over the past 24 months, the scientists must be shitting themselves from the competition . Is there no end to our newly acquired talents . One month Vidal Sassoon , next month Albert Einstein.
  19. Herald saying the Scottish Parliament is being recalled https://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/19794758.covid-scotland-sturgeon-set-recall-msps-discuss-restrictions-new-year/ But from the BBC : However, the first minister said she had no plans to recall Holyrood to discuss further measures. She said the situation was "unpredictable" and that parliament "will sit as necessary", following a report in The Herald on Sunday. She tweeted: "No idea what basis of this headline is, and it's not helpful to add to anxiety people already feel. It's a week before @ScotParl is even in recess." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-59717594 Newspapers whipping up a storm. Who would have thought it. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see more restrictions but folk just jump the gun constantly without a shred of evidence . The hospitality sector has, without a shadow of a doubt, been impacted to a far higher degree than any other sector. There really should be extra help for them. I dont think anyone would begrudge this. At the other end of the spectrum however there are companies making a fookin fortune from the pandemic.
  20. I can say , hand on heart, I have not seen one broadcast since Covid started. Its extremely easy to avoid, I dont even go out of my way to avoid them.
  21. 😁 Least he waited till the second date to get his partner legless .
  22. 😂😂 I daresay you could be right. PS The one person worse than Shiv could possibly be her maw’s new husband.
  23. She did , and i think that is what makes it worse. She has been sucked in by money and power. I think as well, for me, and I know this is not very 2021, being a woman I tend to think woman are a bit softer and have more empathy ( cue the backlash 😬) but she is so hard.
  24. I hope not , nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing Shiv get fucked , she is more frigid than my wee lady elf on the shelf. The way she treats Tom is terrible, in a show with not one redeeming character it really says something to single out the worst one. You tend to think there is something actually wrong with Roman he is so bad, but Shiv is just genuinely horrible 😁
