  1. Read the various posts on here about it over the last few days, primarily in the England section, but fair enough if you weren't aware of it but the person in question admitted that's what he called the SFA staff member.
  2. That's exactly what someone did.
  3. Sorry, you clearly have impeccable manners and have no tendency towards being abusive.
  4. Do you think that calling someone who is just doing their job a <expletive deleted> arsehole is acceptable?
  5. It's okay, she talks so quickly that no-one can understand a word she says anyway.
  6. Maybe if you'd said, "excuse me", "pardon" or "sorry" rather than "what" you may have gotten a different response. Your manners don't look that respectful either.
  7. Tomorrow night's panel from Stirling. Kwasi Kwarteng, Chris Bryant, John Nicholson, Cat Boyd, Merryn Somerset Webb. Interesting that Neither Labour or the Tories put up Scottish panellists, probably wanting to keep their heads down. Expect no prisoners to be taken by Cat Boyd.
  8. That would depend entirely on the players and coaches.
  9. I like Morrison a lot but I don't think we've been using him in his best position, which is really as an attacking midfielder. For the bulk of his caps he's played as holding midfielder usually to accommodate other players, playing further forward. It's not an exact comparison but it's analogous to the way England used to stick Scholes out on the left so as they could accommodate Lampard and Gerrard in the centre. He could do a job there but he wouldn't be anywhere as effective there than his natural position. i suspect his best days are probably behind him, he's had a few injuries and struggles to get a game for West Brom. I'm not sure he's a Pulis player, probably needs to get a move.
  10. For the first time, qualifying takes place under the new 'Week of Football' concept, in which games are spread out from Thursday to Tuesday, shining the spotlight on more teams on the road to the finals in France. Moreover, thanks to the Week of Football idea, at least 33% of games will be played on weekends, giving fans a better chance to follow the action on television, in the stadiums and on UEFA.com. In UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying, only 26 matches out of 245 were held on Saturdays or Sundays. Kick-off times will be set mainly at 18.00CET and 20.45CET on Saturdays and Sundays and at 20.45CET for Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays. In double-header matchweeks, teams will play on Thursday/Sunday, Friday/Monday or Saturday/Tuesday. Each day of the Week of Football will have eight to ten matches. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/news/newsid=2113875.html None of the associations had any say on which days matches are played or the kick off times. The only exceptions are those countries in East such as Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, etc., where the time difference would mean you'd have games kicking off at midnight. Plenty of things to justifiably criticise the SFA about but this isn't one of them.
  11. Who apparently don't go and watch Scotland any more, so go figure.
  12. There's always a pickup for overseas members and people who request to pickup.
  13. I had something similar but which was completely my fault. I'd ordered a European ticket from Chelsea which never turned up, got in touch with the club and had to pick up a replacement, no problem. My front door opens straight into the kitchen and just beside the door I have a fridge freezer. A few month later I had to move the freezer and discovered the unopened envelope with the ticket underneath.
  14. Free bus pass as it was the closest 5th & 6th year school.
  15. I think that's arguable. Mind you he seems to be carving a niche as the mouthpiece for unpopular and loathsome organisations. The SFA, Police Scotland, Better Together and now Scotrail. You can't do that without being something of a dick yourself.
  16. Both Andy Mitchell and Rob Shorthouse were on using the Scottish FA account. Andy Mitchell used to just put out information, Rob Shorthouse while no doubt trying to be helpful for ended up being a bit too smart for his own good. Given his subsequent employment, that probably wasn't too much of a surprise.
  17. Kings Arms in Roupell St just round the corner is a fantastic pub.
  18. Funnily enough, the main reason the SFA give for being unwilling to large or 100% pickups is the abuse the staff take.
  19. I would be angry and rightly so. However, I wouldn't be getting abusive and I wouldn't be moving until it was sorted out. It is possible to be angry, direct and not be abusive you know.
  20. Ive been in a similar situation before - not with the SFA - and so I've got sympathy for you for the situation. Whoever screwed up and gave away your ticket needs to be held accountable but you lose your rag and you lose the argument and any chance of getting it sorted out.
  21. Absolutely agree with your second point. Still no excuse for being abusive.
  22. That's pretty funny. I'm just imagining what it would be like if Only an Excuse did something similar this Hogmanay. You'd be able to hear the squeals of outrage all the way in Newry.
  23. No excuse for being abusive whatever the circumstances.
