  1. Yeah mate, I would agree with your new outlook. Just enjoy the ride with whichever manager is there for however long it lasts. If/when someone does leave, don't let it ruin your week.
  2. Thanks again lads. Info is much appreciated, and yes the Viaplay thing is a bit of a hassle.
  3. That's extreme, but so is worshipping the guy and thinking his shit doesn't stink. Either way it ain't healthy. All of them are just people doing their job like the rest of us. They are compensated handsomely in financial terms for doing said job. People shouldn't invest their lives in whether or not they see out their contract.
  4. As an Atalanta fan I thank Rangers for the £3M for an utter dud of a player, certainly in Serie A.
  5. Correct. Must of the wording in the Rangers statement here is lifted directly from the document the SFA sent to all the clubs. Lazy in the way the proposal was put together and now lazy in the way Rangers FC have removed their B team from the Lowland League. The Lowland League would operate better within the pyramid if all the B teams jumped ship as it would then open up for expansion to 18 teams with a two up two down system plus a playoff from the leagues below.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions lads. Give us a few options. Much appreciated.
  7. Wanted a catchy title but that was the best I could come up with. I'm heading to The Hydro on Saturday for the Elton John gig. Obviously want to watch the Scotland game at 1700, before Elton hits the stage at 1930, so says the Hydro website!! Anyway, Glasweigan friends, any good boozer recommendations for watching the game in? Added bonus points if anyone points us in the direction of somewhere within reasonable walking distance of The Hydro. Cheers in advance.
  8. I dunno really. Taylor didn't really do anything wrong apart from say he believed he won the fight against Catterall. I'm not too sure what other boxers would have said after a close fight either. Things got out of hand badly after that resulting in trolls online publishing the address of his wife#s place of work and her and other members of his family receiving death threats. I think in general, even when he was winning, performing well and tearing it up on the way to becoming undisputed the media here didn't really like him. He is a bit stand-offish and can be spiky at times. The incident at the Edinburgh nightclub after he'd been on the bevvy all day also did his image no favours. I'm not sure if that answered your question or not. There is more boxing specific stuff in the article I just posted above. My pen was busy writing that.
  9. I wrote a Taylor vs. Lopez wrap-up for NY Fights: https://nyfights.com/worldwide/teofimo-lopez-josh-taylor-evaluation/
  10. If Fabrizio says it, it is more than likely happening. His sources across the continent are off the scale good.
  11. Another thing, Taylor has always wanted to box at MSG, and with the recent Ken Buchanan passing and mention of him in the build-up to this one, to go and perform like that, in that building in front of the NY and most of the American fight writers is bitterly disappointing for Taylor. It could haunt him for a while.
  12. Absolutely brutal viewing for Taylor fans that. Getting comprehensively outboxed from round 4/5 onwards and couldn't do anything about it despite solid instructions and ideas on how to do that from his corner. At the start of the fight Taylor employed a nice looking body attack, then he abandoned it somewhere around the third and just started loading up with one off head shots. Worst thing he ever did was move away from Shane McGuigan, he regressed so much under Davison and well here we are. McNally is a good trainer but maybe what he's working with is the problem. As good as he looked in prep for this one and at the weigh-in, he looked drained in there last night. Is the weight cut to 140 just too much now? Or, are we watching a fighter who put so much into his steep climb to the top that this is what we are left with? Hopefully that isn't the case but we can't rule it out after his last two performances. Lopez was a worthy winner in my eyes, so congratulations to him.
  13. It's poorly phrased but I think he was trying to say Moyes joins an exclusive list of top managers "only seven" rather than making a disparaging remark about our fitba culture. I could be wrong though.
  14. between 4am-5am UK time I have been told.
  15. Did a prediction panel piece for this for NY Fights. Some really good observations made by my writing colleagues and the others I asked to contribute. Have a read if interested...... https://nyfights.com/worldwide/josh-taylor-vs-teofimo-lopez-prediction-panel-global-special/
  16. https://featured.japan-forward.com/sportslook/celtic-fc-remains-on-top-in-scotland-but-success-attracts-attention/ Editor in Japan asked for an end of season piece on Celtic's Japanese players. Just published earlier today.
  17. Yeah, I noticed that yesterday as I was taking a look at the groups drawn out for the League Cup qualifiers. The administrators of Scottish football are a shambles.
  18. If you want loyalty in a manager bring in Dick Campbell. The rest of these guys are only in it for themselves. Unbelievable the fans of clubs like Celtic, Rangers and other Scottish clubs buy into the pish rhetoric they spout when things are going well. Rodgers left at the first available opportunity, Postecoglou and Gerrard too. I guess if Beale goes on a tear and Fulham come sniffing about in Jan/Feb 2024 he will do the same. Scottish fitba is just a stepping stone for ambitious and progressive football coaches. Might as well accept that instead of deluding yourselves that they love your club. Do you/did you at any point in your working life love your employer?
  19. The SFA deserve zero credit and none of your sympathy for this. They have done absolutely nothing over recent years to progress player development, yet when the ugly sisters of Glasgow pipe up they bend over backwards to accommodate them which resulted in this rushed and poorly thought out proposal. Mulraney, Maxwell et al are a shower and should be ousted insted of being voted in for future years, as they just were. I'm sure when this issue returns in 5-6 months time the SFA blazers will be pleased to have your sympathy.
  20. At any point during talking to that shower of mainstream media shite did you consider going Gonzo and just unleashing a rant about how poor Sky's coverage of Scottish football is overall? Granted if you had done you wouldn't have made the final cut, but just want to know your thought process.
  21. Yes. Conference League proposal withdrawn from tomorrow's AGM agenda. SFA were clearly aware of the growing number of clubs that had seen straight through this, so instead of being mightily embarrassed they will work with their Glasgow based colleagues, ahem, and come up with another proposal to shoehorn B teams into the pyramid in due course. Their statement says they "would like to carry out further consultation in respect of the player pathway to ensure the best development opportunities for players within the football pyramid." Free bit of advice for them - maybe consult with more than three or four clubs. Plenty forward thinking football people working at smaller clubs whose ideas for progressing football in Scotland should be heard.
  22. Stenny will vote NO to the Conference League at the SFA AGM on Tuesday: https://www.stenhousemuirfc.com/2023/06/02/proposed-conference-league/ Also seen statements from Falkirk, Stirling Albion and Dumbarton today saying they will also be voting against it.
  23. I attended the fans consultation on this issue at Stenhousmuir FC last night. The meeting was chaired by club Chairman Iain McMenemy. The document the SFA sent to the clubs was presented, without opinion or comment by the Chairman before the floor was opened up for opinions to be aired by those in attendance. Everyone in the room expressed negative feelings towards the plans laid out and the Chairman said he would take that away to the board and they would provide an update on how they intend to vote in due course. If they align with the fanbase the Stenny vote on June 6 will be NO. The issues with this proposal seems to be how rushed it has been. There are many glaring holes in it such as with the revenue promised to the non-B teams in the conference league, and how it would operate as the fifth tier of the SPFL although it would be run independently of the SPFL, so in effect it could change the rules within its setup after a few years. As it stands it doesn't even have the 4 B teams it proposes as Aberdeen knocked back the invite to join and Queen's Park have done the same. If a 4th club isn't willing to enter a B team - and absorb the costs that it would entail - apparently they want to run with 9 teams in the league. So it seems to be coming apart at the seams already. Hope those of you on here that are interested in this found this helpful.
