  1. I missed this at the time. A teenage striker getting his debut at an EPL club is positive.
  2. Details of the upcoming games here. https://www.uefa.com/under19/season=2018/teams/team=300117/index.html Games are all being played near Dortmund.
  3. SFA website is predictably useless. But, apparently they beat Denmark 1-0 with a goal from Hornby. And beat Austria 3-2 with 2 goals from Aitchison and 1 from Rudden.

    Angus Gunn

I came across a good article about Bryan Gunn just the other day http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/author-of-a-different-kind-of-football-book-fighting-back-with-the-gunns-421437.html He's quoted as saying
  5. If we play with a holding midfielder, we have quite a few options. If McTominay decides to play for us, then he would be the leading contender IMO. After that, McGinn, McArthur, MacDonald, Fletcher, Coutts, Bridcutt could all play there.
  6. 4 goals in 4 starts for a team that has struggled to score goals all season.
  7. John Fleck got two assists last night. Fleck (and Sheffield Utd) seemed to go completely off the boil after Coutts got injured, but Fleck, at least, seems to have rediscovered a bit of form.
  8. Just found an interesting statistic. Excluding goalkeepers, Matt Smith has the lowest pass completion rate in the Championship. 3rd lowest is Callum Patterson, 5th lowest is Sam Gallagher. At the other end of the scale, Tom Cairney has the highest rating in the Championship
  9. Although he's 24, Joe Bryan (Bristol City) looks like he's going to be a future star
  10. Here's a few more: Full backs Stephen Kingsley (Hull) Donald Love (Sunderland) DM Jay Fulton (Wigan on loan from Swansea) Midfield Stephen Mallan (Barnsley) Theo Archibald (Brentford) Wingers Lewis MacLeod (Brentford) Barrie McKay (Forest) Forward Sam Gallagher (Birmingham)
  11. I agree that he hasn't been that impressive and doesn't do anything spectacular. But we're talking about a 21 year old who is already playing at the highest level. For me, he looks like he could be the next Darren Fletcher. So he would be a massive loss.
  12. I hadn't heard of Matt Smith before. Looks like a better option than Sam Gallagher at least.
  13. Just looking at the statistics for the Liverpool game, and Robertson completed more passes than any other player, and didn't get dispossessed once. Really positive. He still doesn't win tackles or headers, but he's slowly becoming an influential player at a top club.
  14. Last club managed: Zamalek in Egypt in season 2015/2016 According to Wikipedia he got punted after only 10 games in charge despite a record of w6 d2 l2 However, it seems his league record was p5 w2 d1 l2 Zamalek were 3 points behind the league leaders when McLeish took over, when he got punted (5 games later!), they were 11 points behind. Zamalek finished the season 7 points behind the league winners.
  15. Jay Fulton is currently on loan at Wigan. He's had 7 minutes game time in the 3 games since he signed.
  16. It's too early to say with McBurnie. After 1 start he has 1 goal and got MOTM. I agree Sam Gallagher probably is going to be a Championship level striker Chris Martin came off the bench to get his first goal for Reading at the weekend.
  17. On a positive note Smith has stepped back, but in a WTF moment, John Hughes in the record today: I'm starting to wish we'd kept Strachan
  18. I'll give you a fact - he put out a team with 5 centre-halfs against Belarus. Pressley Weir Webster Dailly and Caldwell That's not the kind of vision I want in the next Scotland manager.
  19. Even discounting the fact that he walked out on us mid-campaign (something McLeish and Docherty didn't do), he's been out of the game for years, and even when he was in his prime, he wasn't good enough.
  20. Totally agree with this. The list of names in the frame makes for depressing reading. Smith McLeish Mackay Gemmill Caldwell Clarke Mccall
  21. Fraser does sometimes play right-wing-back for Bournemouth, so maybe he would be a better option. Then again, Fraser has played practically every position on the park for Bournemouth. Has Forrest ever played wing-back before?
  22. We have an abundance of midfield options. Who do we have that's an automatic pick? Or how many current midfielders can you name that have scored a goal for us?
