Wouldn’t it be great i you supported a team that had all their away games broadcast live, and you could pay an additional subscription for the home games, which are never shown live.... (or am I just being a cynic?)

Away 2 seasons ago had it and home a couple before that. I think these strips would’ve looked better with the badges swapped....

They tend to go with the MFC script on occasion, but will probably have the badge on the home.

If you told me the Falkirk one was from 2012 I’d not bat an eyelid, don’t know if it’s just ‘cos it’s puma. Aberdeen away Is a decent top absolutely ruined by a big white box for the sponsor. The home is a bit red. 😂

Aye, I don’t disagree again. My rangers Supporting mate was asking me about this the other day. MFC have said, if you’ve paid for a 20/21 season ticket, you will see 19 games in the flesh at fir park (or get your money back) and you will get the first cup (hopefully European) game free for your loyalty. Whereas I believe other clubs are saying “renew your season ticket at a cost of £450 for a season that might never happen, or some other mug will have your seat.” Or words to that effect. “ps: if you want to go to cup or away games, we want another £40 off you, but we’ll give you a small discount on our overpriced sportswear.”

I hear what you’re saying, but surely the whole point is surely, companies with big burdens for staff who they don’t need and can’t pay, can offset that loss... Id like to think our football clubs are making up the 20% or paying everyone full salary, while using the job retention scheme to keep everyone employed.... I doubt it, but you never know. Ironically I’m Usually against just giving money to football teams, but in this instance I think they should take it. 🤷‍♂️

Would it not be some sort of negligence if Football clubs didn’t accept the financial support available? I can see your angle and I don’t entirely disagree, they probably shouldn’t be front of the queue for hand outs, I have a “charity begins at home” attitude to football clubs coming round with the begging bowl to subsidise paying guys £100,000 a year to play football.

Not to defend Rangers, but To be fair I don’t necessarily think furloughing staff should stop a business from making any future investment. There will be plenty companies in far healthier financial positions than most football clubs taking full advantage of the Job retention scheme to furlough staff and minimise they impact to their business. Why would Rangers (or any other club) pay staff that can’t work when the government are offering to take the hit?

But I’m suggesting we do play them.... (or did play them, that horse has bolted now though)

On completing 19/20 behind closed doors, surely 75% or thereabouts of your attendance at most games is season tickets, that have been paid upfront. So provided they don’t have to give refunds en masse, they’ve already banked a fair bit of their match day revenue....

It’s pretty grim in the sense Celtic can hoover up all the young talent and even have options to bring back the ones they didn’t want if they make it elsewhere. Great business from Celtic, and ultimately looking after their shareholders fans is their main MO. 😜

Good point diamond scot. Motherwell etc. have been party to the old firm being pushed higher and higher on a pedestal over the last 30 years or so, to the point that our whole league structure, fixture schedule top and bottom 6 split is all geared towards milking everything they can from 4 old firm visits per season and selling the 4 derbies to sky (who have shown contempt for the other 10 top flight teams with their coverage). Perhaps if at any point in the last 30 years clubs had collectively looked at the long term health of Scottish football rather than the next transfer window we’d be in a better state.

Perhaps their are too many “senior” teams? I don’t know the answer. Probably a bit of a billy big balls attitude, but how can you have teams that play in front of 200 fans making decisions about the top flight? I don’t think it’s that unreasonable to suggest that’s an issue. Dont get me wrong, I’m sure teams that play in front of 5000, 15000 or 50000 are equally capable of taking self serving short sighted decisions.

Sometimes Gordon Strachan can take a good point (or not a completely unreasonable one) and make it very badly. 😂 Should Cowdenbeath, Stranraer or Albion rovers be dictating to the full time teams?

Following on from the world football thread. Hartlepool v Darlington sounds like it would be tasty. 😂 I’ve been at a couple of old firms and didn’t think they lived up to the hype. Maybe as I had no investment in the teams and was working? Would’ve liked to experience it as an away fan (in the 8000 away support days) to see if it was any better. Would like to see a game in South America, the Boca v River just looks insane. Likewise some of the Eastern European ones with all the Pyro etc.

I do still think we’ll win the cup every year. 🏆 😂 Still think the 3rd/4th round of the Scottish cup, especially if you get a decent away day is the most magical day of the season. Im not completely dead inside, yet.

Quite a good season. If I’m honest I don’t think we’d have held on to 3rd, but we’ll take it. 🤷‍♂️ I think we were pretty ambivalent to what happened with league. We had guaranteed top 6 just before this kicked off, so were able to sit back with the popcorn. Be interesting to see if European football goes ahead and in what form? Given our 1st qualifier should be in about 4 weeks. 😂

That’s an SPFL decision. 🤷‍♂️ I’m sure you know aswell as everyone that’s a far more complex situation across 3 different leagues. Also in the interest of self interest no way they’re going to vote that through.
