  1. Virginia and Michigan are worth watching, both might go Rep. And if they do he wins.
  2. All about Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Dems can pick up 200,000+ votes but will it be enough?
  3. Close but a lot of votes still to be counted in the SE which is heavily Dem.
  4. No, not at all. For example you can vote Green in 48 of the 50 states. And in Utah, an independent candidate has a real chance of winning.
  5. That is fine, so at the next U.K. General election we can just leave the SNP, PC and the Greens out of any polls on voting intention. Reminds me or when I was a kid, "Aye, I know you are a Dumbarton fan but are you a Rangurs Dumbarton fan or a Selick Dumbarton fan?"
  6. Makes me chuckle that a poll on the TAMB fails to include all voting options.
  7. Maybe I should have said that it *can* be cheap. I did just spend a stupid amount of money on a pair of running shoes that I already have!
  8. Yeah, I have now paid for London twice but still haven't run it, fortunately never booked flights or hotels. But running is still a cheap hobby compared to golf or something like that (or even the drinking I would be doing if I wasn't running).
  9. Races are definitely getting more expensive. Suppose they can charge what they want if they sell out. Big city marathons here in the US can be up to $200 now. Really annoying if you get hurt just before and can't run!
  10. Agreed, I like T5 but connecting from an International flight to domestic is a nightmare. Although not as bad as connecting International to Domestic at LAX, that is hell on earth.
  11. Thanks McToot. It was a really small race in Dover, Delaware, in the US, called Monster Mash.
  12. New marathon PB today, 2.42:45. Bit shocked as I never expected to break 2.45.
  13. I ran an ultra a few years back and thought at the time that some of the sections through the woods were a bit creepy. It was only afterwards I found out that parts of the Blair Witch had been filmed there!
  14. Yeah, that is about the normal range although some people run less (the Hanson beginner plan only goes to 16 I think) and others do more. Your best bet for a first marathon is to decide how much total time per week you can devote to your training and find a training plan that is best fit for you, then stick to it as much as possible. If you decide to do another marathon in future you can work out what suits you personally for next time. For me, I do a lot of 20-22 mile runs plus one of 24. But I also do at least one day a week, often two days, with a run of about 15 miles.

  16. Jeez... 'cocaine, heroin, caffeine, amphetamines' - makes some recycled blood and a bit of EPO sound almost civilized!
  17. Do you really think it was better in the old days? Less sophisticated maybe but I've read a few histories of the tour where it seems that back in the day everyone was on booze and amphetamines (all legal at the time) to overcome the pain and exhaustion. Having said that, I doubt any of them has asthma!
  18. Nah, your quote was a direct response to a question about TUEs while being coached by Salazar, as it was just after the whole NOP thing blew up. He was saying he had only one TUE while at NOP. Apparently there is a quote from a few weeks later where he clears that up but I haven't seen it yet.
  19. What is the new criteria? Quite fancy doing this one at some point.
