  1. Seriously though. Malky Mackay as Performance Director?! What the f*** is going on?
  2. Opposition parties are doing themselves no favours by constantly trying to get ministers to resign. After a while doing so becomes a meaningless act and it's just another cheap stunt that really needs to be reserved for when something genuinely serious happens. No doubt he deserves criticism though - if you are going to be a minister, transport minister at that, you make sure you've got your own paperwork in order. I do think it's a reasonably easy mistake to make but there's absolutely no reason for any punishment beyond that specified in law. Never have been keen on Yousaf though - comes across as a career politician. Got a long way to go before I'd consider him anywhere near a heavyweight.
  3. Im a Dunfermline fan, but really, really hope he's a success at Hearts. Cannot abide the parochial and archaic attitude of some in Scottish football and it would be great if he can prove them wrong. It's obviously a risk but no more so than any other management appointment these days IMO. There's a pretty high turn over of managers these days most of whom with vast experience so I think too much is made of experience when it comes to success and failure of a management. Heard him talk or read an article (cant remember) where he outlined his plans for the team and he certainly talks a fantastic game. Wants his team to press high, go for the win, expects players to be incredibly fit, etc. Was certainly better than the usual cliche-ridden, meaningless guff you get from "experienced" managers. Biggest risk is something that others have pointed out - what would constitute success at a club where (with all due respect) they are pretty close to hitting a glass ceiling already? I think a decent stab at it would be stability for the next 3/4 years - consistent top six finishing, some decent cup runs - but Im not sure others would see that as success. Where he could make a huge difference is bringing through younger/unknown players and selling them on at a profit for the club. If he can consolidate the youth system them have and take it to next level, I'd argue that's just as important as short-term wins. And that's where he and McPhinn might have a bigger impact on Scottish Football than as SFA Performance Directors. Had they gone to the SFA, there's a danger the ambition and impact would be strangled out of them and they'd really struggle to make it work in an organisation that, let's be honest, is not fit for purpose but is untouchable. If they can make it work at Hearts and challenge the orthodoxy in Scottish Football, it would hopefully be a blueprint for others to follow in Scotland.
  4. Snodgrass really is a shadow of his former self. Completely hopeless for Hull tonight.
  5. I'd be wary of thinking something didn't open. I'd recommend getting hold of a virus checker app immediately and running a full scan. Not to be alarmist, but it's a bit late for that. If there's been a data breach, whoever has access to the data will have a copy. Needs to be a clear statement from SSC/SFA about what data has been breached.
  6. Which is why there needs to be answers about what has been breached.
  7. I'm expecting answers from SSC - this suggests a data-breach/hack. If not, I'd like an explanation of how fraudsters managed to email all SSC members.
  8. Aye, and their manager recently quit so the parallels only go so far.
  9. 11. Aye?! I've not said any of the things you're attributing me as saying? My hero? I actually thought the cast of Hamilton made arseholes of themselves so not sure where you've pulled that absolute gem from. Is this you're level of debate now? When did this happen?
  12. Out of curiosity, are you posting that to legitimise what Trump has said about the Hamilton cast, to divert attention away from Trump's reluctance to distance himself from neo-nazis, or to call me a fanny? It's not quite clear.
  13. Trump sticks it right to a theater group when he feels need but little or nothing about the neo-nazis hanging on his coattails.
  14. Disagree. A viewing of the England game suggests passion isnt the problem but rather tactics and how the team sets up. Aye, the players were more up for it but I think that was more because, for once, Strachan, set them up to take the game to England. In other games, the passion reflects the team setup - defensive, passive, unambitious. The only time Fletcher and McFadden should be anywhere near the backroom staff, is after they're earned their coaching badges and have a proven track record. It's not enough to be passionate about winning, we need to have the smarts when it comes to management and coaching. Something we've been lacking for some time.
  15. He's winning? It's only half time, hes made bold predictions about Trump and called folk on this thread thick khunts. lol Rather be the anti-politician he's being credited as being, Trump is showing himself to be the most extreme of politicians. He's a ruthless businessman who'll make any promise in order to get what he wants. He's going to make yesterday's politicians look timid by comparison.
  16. On playing front, we need to refresh squad with a good 5/6 players losing out to others - centre-half and centre-midfielder are the priorities but we also need to now start building Burke into team more permanently. I think tactics is the area where there's potential for big games. Strachan has set team up to be too defensive and too lethargic. The England showed that when the players are set up with pace and told to play a pressing game, we look far better. Fitness and match sharpness needs to factor far more in player selection in order to play a fast, pressing game. All in all, I seen enough in the England game to know that as much as we tear our hair out at the state of the national team, this crop of players can play with pace and aggression if they wanted to. Responsibility for this rests with the management team so it's within our control to do better - it's not just down to technical limitations of the players.
  17. 6 years? Didnt think it was as long as that. What has he achieved in 6 years? Anything?
  18. Ill be honest, I thought Alan's post was pretty fair - I just couldn't be bothered posting as much because almost every other post he makes he comes across as a complete dobber. But there is a lot of truth in it. Rather than sticking our head in the sand, it's about time some folk realise what we've become.
  19. Holy f***! Was this a thing?! I cant believe what Ive just watched.
  20. Fair point. Perhaps someone can confirm? Another fair point. Im looking at ETA right now. That said, it's a chicken and egg situation - Id be more inclined to sign up if I thought it was a worthwhile organisation to be a member of. It doesnt feel like it is at all which probably explains why most don't bother. But yeah, I take your point. Would be good to see ATAC step up and show more balls though and collectively clubs finding ways in which to attract more members.
