  1. Likelihood of any of those listed being capped slim at best.
  2. Given the SFA's performance and track record of appointments, Malky Mackay probably only just pipped Barry Bennell to the role.
  3. Because the current midfield have excelled recently so we should show faith and keep with our losing formula. Are you Gordon Strachan? Armstrong is playing in the champions league and on good form in Europe and domestically - How many of our other midfielders can we say that for? If Darren Fletcher was a dog you'd consider putting him out his misery, Bannan was a joke in the recent qualifiers and Adam is playing semi regular and quite well but there's more chance of Strachan picking Derek Riordan than Adam after his recent comments.
  4. But James Forrest is brilliant just like Barry Bannan you know nothing about football
  5. Yeah I don't see the issue. Having said that id probably rather someone in the Cathro mould.
  6. I think the point is about colonies and backgrounds of players and how France benefit, the same way Belgium do, from their former colonies in Africa.
  7. He could score 10 goals in the EPL between now and March and I don't think he'd make our very inept managers squad...
  8. Goalscorers; Steven Fletcher Matt Phillips Graham Dorrans Chris Martin (2)
  9. Ian Cathro given his background in player development would be a good fit for this role. Alan Irvine!? May aswell be Ricky Sbragia...
  10. Agreed. Also Burke is miles behind our "world class" players so over hyped by some on here such as Barry Bannan and James Forrest isn't he!
  11. The point is that Hanley doesn't play and still gets a call up every time... by that thinking any eligible player playing the same level would be a better shout for a call up. Hanley is also horse dung. Cooper may be too - my point is that players playing the same or a higher level are overlooked under Strachan for players who sometimes aren't even playing.
  12. It's based on the fact we have no centre backs and he plays (regularly) in the same league as our #1 centre back according to Strachan, the tremendous Grant Hanley. My point was if Hanley gets in the squad then Cooper should. Obvious really...
  13. The 5 nations was last played 17 years ago. I switched off when you mentioned that and realised you have very little idea what you're talking about.
  14. Was their captain the other night. Plays for a club in the same league as Hanley but actually plays. No brainer he should get a call up instead IMO
  15. Do you watch rugby or just look at stats off Wikipedia!? We were robbed out of qualifying for the semi final of the World Cup last year and just completed a successful autumn international period. Ranked 7th in the world and the most exciting side we've had with the best depth in over 15 years < the opinion of rugby experts.
  16. You're selective with your viewpoint here. Hutchison, like the others you named, also wasn't good enough for England. If he was, he would've been capped for them well before he came on our radar. That's why he only became avaialable to us in his mid 20s
  17. Look at how pish we are - even our own born and bred players like McCarthy and McGeady have chosen another country to represent. How many tournaments has McGeady been to since he made the decision to represent a different nation? How many would he have been to if he'd stayed with Scotland - 0 We are even a back up plan to our own players sometimes.
  18. Hahahaha that made me laugh. It seems they do yes!
  19. Looking at the teams around us... with the present manager, system etc I don't know if we would beat those teams. Depressing. Wouldnt fancy us against Cameroon anyway!
  20. The best man for the job is in charge. Accurate statment if the job is to make us a pot 5 team.
  21. Rugby residency qualification is 3 years not 5, it's even easier to 'sign' someone for your national rugby side which is exactly what happens. It's called the 'project player' scheme and Scottish rugby have a dept dedicated to sourcing players either eligible or who would be interested in moving with 3 year residency to represent the national side in mind. Very different to football in ruling and also in opinions from fans on if it is right or wrong.
  22. Well i'm glad you don't pick the team then
  23. I'd make an exception for (probably) the best player who's ever existed.
