  1. Well even if you aren't impressed by him it doesn't change the fact that he doesn't see Fletcher as even his first go to option or second. If as you say they are struggling so much does it not worry you even more that he hasn't given Fletcher a chance?
  2. Well Van Gaal evidently does not see Fletcher as a go to option so I can't see that changing. If anything he will slip further down the pecking order when Van Gaal signs more players.
  3. Irish press are reporting Darron Gibson as doubtful as he has picked up a knee injury in training.
  4. Murray knows he can beat Djokovic and a lot depends on what Andy walks out on court tomorrow.
  5. I think we will get an idea of where Andy is at against the world No.1 (possibly) tomorrow against Djokovic if the Serb beats Monfils later.
  6. And Murray wins 6-3 6-3. Really hard to judge that performance from Andy. He was rock solid on his own serve whilst Dimitrov was erratic. Still he got the job done and wraps up a spot at the WTF for sure now.
  7. Murray in control and toying with the young Bulgarian and leads 6-3 4-1.
  8. Andy breaks early in the second set and leads 6-3 2-0.
  9. Andy Murray looking comfortable and settled wins the first set 6-3. One more set win today and he is in the WTF.
  10. Murray, without doing anything special, goes a break up to lead 2-1 against Dimitrov and he consolidates the break by holding serve to lead 3-1.
  11. Yes ParisInAKilt he must remind himself he is no longer a young pup and perhaps only has another three or four years as a footballer (five or six at an absolute push). He must realise Uited are overhauling their squad and it is more likely than not new players will get their chance before he will. I am sure if he were to look elsewhere a number of 'lesser' EPL clubs would be interested. He either stays put and hopes a chance comes his way which I would say is more unlikely than likely or moves on and gets a fresh start and chances to show what he can still do.
  12. The lion's share of his games have been in the EPL though and in any case being an EPL player or a Championship player makes no difference as to what job you can do for Scotland. Adam has had success in EPL but been dross for Scotland whereas aforementioned Graham Alexander had very little EPL experience but did an admirable job for us.
  13. Apologies hannibal but would help if you more than just correct a post and more add an opinion. If you agree with my basic point then sorry for my response but if you don't then my original post stands.
  14. If you are trying to argue the point then perhaps we MUST drop Marshall (Cardiff), Hanley (Blackburn), Martin (Norwich), Maloney (Wigan), May (Sheff Wed) etc etc etc. Just because a player has not sparkled in the EPL doesn't mean they cannot do a very good job for Scotland. It has been proven in the past that is a falsehood.
  15. Okay one random season after a whole career in the lower leagues.
  16. Agreed. Better with first team football in the Championship than warming the bench in the EPL. It is just that some seem to think if you aren't in the top flight you can't do a job for Scotland which is complete nonsense.
  17. Also taking it on from there many here often have sung the praises of Graham Alexander yet he never even played in the EPL. Also people are warming to the defensive partnership of Martin and Hanley but there is precious little EPL experience there.
  18. But to be fair ParisInAKilt the same could be said of James McArthur and Graham Dorrans could it not? Also you could say Charlie Adam has had a better EPL career yet has failed to turn it on for Scotland apart from perhaps one half V Spain.
  19. I don't have a problem with Mulgrew and Brown playing in the middle for us either. Fletcher (until he gets first team football again) is not really the man you'd want starting for us as you'd fear rustiness or match fitness would cost us. He could still prove to be a big player for us if he can move on and resurrect his career elsewhere though.
  20. I wonder when it will be trimmed down? Five goalkeepers?
  21. Surely, if this was so someone within the club would be running investigations into this though? And apparently in April of last year an investigation was launched into Green's activities at the club so what became of that?
  22. Apologies for repeating myself. It just smacks of rank incompetence though. It is also bewildering that many faces have been in and gone and none have really moved to address the root core of the problem. Someone should be brought in to investigate and manage the club in matters of finances but that perhaps is impossible with so many people on the board with their own beliefs you'd never get unaminous agreement for this.
  23. Sorry that is tosh. And in any case it is just not 45 minutes we are talking about here (and what a 45 minutes against the world champions). He has been a regular in the Scotland side in recent times when we have improved immeasurably and our results have improved so evidently he hasn't let us down either. Also just remember this forray to Bolton will be his first spell outside the EPL where, until now, his career has been in the EPL with Aston Villa and Palace.
