  1. No the caption is wrong as that was the ex-SNP candidate who was booted out so independent.
  2. Tomorrows newspapers will read:- Beached whale found in Loch Ness.
  3. More than good for the SNP and huge slice of humble pie for Oraloon.
  4. And a vote for Tory, Labour or Lib Dem in Scotland is marked down in Westminster's books as a clear unequivocal vote in support of the union. It will be used by Westminster to prove Scotland has no mandate for a second IndyRef.
  5. Every election in Scotland has to be about independence until it is achieved. Independence supercedes Brexit - if it does not for independence seekers then they evidently don't feel strongly enough about it.
  6. Well put it this way, if the SNP do not top their 35 seats of 2017 then any talk of IndyRef2 should be put on the back burner for the foreseeable future.
  7. Well if you are a betting man rush off to get a bet on Tories increasing their seat count. You'll get a pretty good price on that.
  8. I can't see it. All polls are suggesting SNP to win 40+ seats so an increase of a minimum of five seats. The only way the Tory seat count is heading is down. Damage limitation is the name of the game for them.
  9. I doubt it as there has been a big upswing of numbers registering to vote.
  10. Spot on but ...... They key part of football is scoring goals and defending. That is a massive achilles heel to us. Our central defence is at its weakest that I can remember and that stretches back 40+ years. And upfront, likewise, we are toothless. We do not have a striker capable of scoring goals regularly for us and more often than not rely on our midfield for goals. Before we get anywhere in international football the defence has to become meaner and leak less silly goals and we must find a striker with an eye for goal or else we will get nowhere. Sad thing is I do not see any real change on the horizon unless Gallagher can prove himself in the centre of defence alongside another such as McKenna. On the striker front it may not be too daft a call pushing McGinn up there.
  11. At the end of the day Wings over Scotland (obviously big independence supporters) need to put up or shut up. They are voicing an opinion on the likes of the SNP which they are entitled to but if they feel they could ensure they could help bring independence any quicker to Scotland then get off their arses and form a party. At present the SNP are the only ones in a position to politically push for independence and the only voting option (barring the Scottish Greens) who support independence. Wings over Scotland want independence but have no influence on it happening in any shape or form at present. I am not saying the SNP are perfect in any way but they are the ones standing up against Westminster's pro-union parties and for that they get my support.
  12. The remarkable thing is that Labour/Tory/Lib Dem have alienated themselves from around 40% of the Scottish electorate with their stance on independence. By totally ruling it out (mostly) there are a big percentage of that electorate who will not vote for them.
  13. I totally agree and when I lived in England I did vote Labour - may even have voted Lib Dems once but NEVER EVER Tory. However, we live in sad and confusing times. Many will vote Tory as they are drawn to BJ's racist side and all his macho BS mistaking that for him being a strong leader. Others voting Tory being Brexiteers who would vote for their hand to be chopped off if it got them their Brexit. Also there are those sucked in by anti-semitism against Labour plus, of course, the upper class toffs who know the Tories will always fight to look after their massive nest eggs. So you see Toryism expands various classes of people no matter how repugnant it is.
  14. At the moment I'd say Fraser. He is out of form at present. At least having Forrest in there there is that club core understanding between him McGregor and Christie.
  15. We all see/know of the bias but it counts for nothing. It is like the 'Billy Mitchell' issue. The BBC would never admit to their bias even when it is as clear as day.
  16. I wouldn't stress. After all I guarantee Andrew Neil would not have grilled BJ too much. Andrew Neil has Tory roots and was member of young conservative clubs when younger and wrote for newspapers with a clear Tory bias.
  17. For me he really needs game time. A good long run of first team football where he can develop to the next level. Talent is there but he is very raw and untapped at present.
  18. I wouldn't see the point being that Andrew Neil has strong Tory connections.
  19. I get that. My point is that when (as it looks like it will) Brexit happens at the end of January. What then will Brexit and UKIP stand for?
  20. Purely, because it is based around exiting the EU and has no clear plans or consideration for the issues I mentioned earlier.
  21. Okay it is a Scottish view point on English matters but come on isn't anyone down there asking surely there is a better option than Tory or Labour (and not UKIP or Brexit).
  22. I am genuinely amazed that there has not been a breakthrough by another party in England. And by that I do not mean UKIP or Brexit Party whose only agendas revolve around exiting the EU. I am surprised nobody has thought about starting a party to offer an alternative to the same old Tory or Labour garbage. Maybe a form of a party similar to SNP or Plaid Cymru who would look after English people's interests first and foremost. I think that would go down well as long as they were coherent on all issues such as NHS, Police, Transport, Taxes, Education etc etc.
