  1. As I understand it he will get called up for U-21's today and every chance he will be withdrawn when selected for the main squad next week. That is what I am hoping.
  2. Oh of course. He'd much sooner pick a journeyman like Graham Shinnie with no Mom performances for Norwich. 😲
  3. With all due respect why would he even consider switching. He evidently feels 100% English, was born and brought up in England, has played all of his young career in England and has represented England at multiple levels.
  4. Billy Gilmour: Scotland should pick midfielder, says Harry Redknapp - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51804067 Harry Redknapp speaking sense.
  5. It will be bloody baffling. Picture it - we are 1-1 against Israel with 15 minutes to go and on the bench we have Graham Shinnie or McLean to bring on when it could have been Billy Gilmour.
  6. Of course the first priority is for Scotland to qualify for their first major tournament for over 20 years. We could take our first steps there against Israel and we need our very best squad for that match and hopefully the following game if we win. Gilmour can be far more use to us in the first team than the U-21's. It ceased becoming a debate when he broke into the first team and put in two MoM performances.
  7. Or better still a poll on who you'd rather have in the squad? Graham Shinnie or Billy Gilmour. No guesses who wins out and so why are people even contemplating not having him in the squad?
  8. End of the day I do not give a crap if England have waited longer before capping a player. If we have a player with great potential playing at Chelsea and winning MoM awards then that is enough to get him into our squad quite comfortably.
  9. Does it matter to the end point? End point is we have a young player with great potential at a time when we have injuries and yet people are digging their heels in about calling him up. FFS I have seen it all here now.
  10. Thing is does it matter if England have or have not capped a player with less experience? England are far superior to us in all areas and have far more options hence less opportunities. We are nowhere near that stage so potential stars are far closer to selection with us.
  11. Tosh. Do you really think he is sitting at home keeping his fingers crossed he is in the U-21 squad right now? Of course not. He'll be gunning for his first call-up to the main squad.
  12. Well then shall we say actively encouraging or making sounds like they won't be too fussed if he is in the U-21 squad.
  13. I am sorry but I am gobsmacked that people on here are actually wanting Gilmour to be named in the U-21 squad. Why? Gilmour faced and impressed against far better players in the past week than Israel have got to offer. If anything this match will be a drop in class for him.
  14. Sorry but international football is about picking the best players available to you regardless of age and experience. Are you telling me Graham Shinnie is playing better than Billy Gilmour for example?
  15. Well for acceptable reasons in answer to No 1 if he is ready for EPL matches and man of the match performances to boot one of which against the European Club Champions then he is certainly ready for Scotland. Answer to No 2 how is it the wrong game? He has shown he can perform at the highest level in club football with a very level-head. No 3 that is debateable and there certainly aren't 4 or 5 better options than him to keep him out of the squad. As for unacceptable reasons then I agree. The full level must come first. That is the most important game for the national squad for a number of years.
  16. And where are Ted Heath and that other eminent Tory supporter Jimmy Savile in that sequence of photos?
  17. Okay harsh in some ways but not in others. To be tipped to become an undisputed heavyweight world champion as some are doing on this thread then I expect more than I have seen so far ie not being put down or rocked badly by three different fighters that I can think of. He can punch but for me Fury can and would outbox him. Plus the invincibility cloak fell forever V Ruiz.
  18. Undisputed World Champions do not get knocked down multiple times by an overweight and far from great boxer like Andy Ruiz. And lest we forget it is not the first time AJ has been knocked down and his chin shown up. Klitschko did it as did Dillan Whyte ands those are just the obvious ones. Also AJ (perhaps not his fault alone) is guilty of dodging the best boxers out there such as Wilder and Fury. Sure his promoter must shoulder the blame too but if AJ really wanted those fights to happen he'd have demanded it and his promoter would have backed down.
  19. And a second goal for Ryan Gauld for Farense.
  20. I will say one name - Andy Ruiz. A J has a proven glass chin.
