  1. Its inevitable considering the match went to extra-time last night. I can see as many as 6 or 7 changes.
  2. I think it was a smart move having Gallagher and O'Donnell in there as they are used to the three at the back system which seemed to help with understanding it etc. Gallagher was a plus as he proved he can do a job for us. O'Donnell gives it his all but we need better at that level but he never made any big cock-ups.
  3. Thought Hornby was great. Also liked what I saw of McRorie, Ferguson and Ashby.
  4. Well at least they are well stocked up on toilet paper.
  5. I get where people are coming from with regards our chances V Serbia being very slim but its a one-off match. If you look at their recent results there are some glimmers of hope there if you consider, in the two years, they have drawn at home to Romania, laboured to a 2-1 win over Montenegro, beaten comfortably at home 4-2 by Portugal, laboured to a 3-2 win at home to Luxembourg and drew 2-2 at home to Ukraine. They are not unbeatable. Posters on here often claim we are better than Wales well Serbia are ten places below Wales in the FIFA Rankings.
  6. Of course. Obviously home games then. The point stands though that now is the time for positivity not negativity.
  7. I think rules were changed since that very infamous moment. Or at least refs to show a bit of common. As in blow for time bfore a corner-kick/free-kick is taken at latest.
  8. You can't win. Strachan used to get pelters for being too jokey/jovial on here now this.
  9. As I said last night Israel were more composed on the ball than us and kept possession well but that is their game. Look at,the goals they scored against us? All pearlers or speculative long range shots. We got into the better positions in their box a number of times but they snuffed us out as they pack their defence. We went closer to scoring than them but it was still not a great performance by any means but we got the job done. The positives were we looked more solid in defence, kept our nerve for penalties and overcame the big banana skin of losing 6 players from the squad which had to have disrupted our plans. And most of all we are through. At the end of the day we are through and that is the most important thing. Apparently, in our last 20 games we have only lost to Germany, Belgium and Russia - all better than Serbia. No doubt they will be hot favourites to qualify but that suits me. Time to think positive not negative.
  10. And why would she want to frame him exactly? Politically his career was already over and he never stated he wanted back in again. Give me a motive and I am all ears.
  11. Yes what we lack is a creative midfielder. One who is comfortable on the ball and looks to play attacking passes to create chances.
  12. I said this about Robertson the other day. His strength is in attacking and getting crosses in. The defensive side of things he is not so great in my opinion. However, it os overlooked by his quality crossing and assists.
  13. Agreed. Simple question is will he enhance our striking options? Definitely. Clarke said in his post-match interview he will now look to add to the squad and you'd think Griffiths will be one of those to be added.
  14. Yes I thought he had a very good game. Looked solid and had no slip-ups and made some vital clearances and blocks.
  15. If you think about it we are a team in transition tinkering with formations. Israel have a fixed formation and settled team so they know each others tasks etc inside out. They still played the same way when we first played them two years ago. That has to help when you have a settled team and formation. We are still striving for that. They had composure on the ball when building from the back whereas we didn't. Having said that I'd say we carved the better opportunities. Our defence looked better tonight than a month ago and considering the players we had ruled out of the match then just getting through will do for me. I have my doubts we have enough in attack to really hurt Serbia but who knows in a one-off match.
  16. I agree. Big shout out to Declan Gallagher who I thought did really well.
  17. They were much better on the ball and in possession but we got into the better positions and came closest to scoring. McTominay missed a sitter they missed that golden chance and we hit the post.
  18. I knew we'd have the edge in goalies. No offence to Rocky but Marshall is the better 'keeper.
  19. Yes I know. Its a flexible team so who knows move McTominay into midfield and slot Robbo and O'Donnell into full-back roles. However, the fact Motherwell play three at the back and Gallagher and O'Donnell have ben selected says its three at the back.
  20. Well it is a flexible formation where it could conceivably be or become 4-4-2 by just moving McTominay into midfield and O'Donnell and Robertson drop back to full-back roles.
  21. To be fair though the way Israel play the defence won't be under siege. They sit back and play the counter-attack.
  22. Certainly would not have gone with three at the back but glad to see he has gone with two up top.
  23. Spot on. That is how I see it.
