  1. Vote YES...life is peaceful there...Vote YES in the autumn air....Vote YES...where the skies are blue....Vote YES...this is what we're going to do
  2. I hope he goes to the Orange Walk on Saturday with something similar!
  3. Has it finished? I mean, it's not going to be live on the TV?
  4. in a sort of related anecodote, Spain capped Munir the other night, he's only played two games for Barcelona but as he has a Moroccan parent he was brought on as a sub and is now tied to Spain...did the same with Bojan too. What I mean by this is, many countries do it in order to tie someone down. from the players' point of view it's a risk..I don't ever envisage Bojan playing international football again, whereas if he'd picked Serbia he'd probably have 50 caps by now.
  5. I reckon the flying of the flag from Downing Street has probably clinched a landslide victory for the No campaign...it won't show up on opinion polls or in debates, in fact you might never hear anyone say it publicly but what people really care about is whether the saltire is flown from downing street....genius from those guys at better together!
  6. Surely we shouldn't have more powers...I mean what about the ship builders in Liverpool?
  7. Does anyone else think that Nigel Farage's visit and the Orange Order march could be part of a plan to create some genuine trouble and scare people into voting No? I've been reading more and more comments from No voters saying things like "no matter what way the vote goes, Scotland will be divided/split down the middle" etc etc...Add on to that the efforts of Jim Murphy, George Galloway etc to paint the Yes campaign as aggressive and menacing and I think there is a tactic to scare people into believing Scotland will become a second Northern Ireland.. now imagine there is some trouble this weekend and imagine someone is seriously hurt or even killed, do you think some swaying voters would panic and vote No, fearing some kind of civil war should Yes carry the day? like I said, call me paranoid
  8. Obviously gutted at the defeat but I think if we are going to lose, lets lose like that...feeling angry and knowing we could get more...I think that anger can be chanelled in the right way...I can see us fly out the traps against Georgia at home now!
  9. with his "well over 50% of people in scotland are on benefits" nonsense I'd say it's farage who is stoking up the anti-english feeling in scotland
  10. On the abandoning of Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester etc issue....didn't we do that when we voted to devolve powers to Edinburgh? we already have abandoned them when it comes to health, education etc The way I see it is you either want to be in the same boat as the north of england in which case you have everything for the whole uk decided at westminster (then we'd really all be in it together) or you are independent...I've not heard anyone propose the first option (which would be the true better together philosophy). you can't be showing solidarity with north england while you have different laws and decisions made regarding education, health etc. They have the tories for everything while we have them for some things!
  11. So he thinks England subsidises Scotland but he doesn't want us to leave while he thinks the UK subsidises much of Europe and therefore wants to leave....I'm confused!
