  1. You may well be right, and I hope that you are.My point was that I believe he is as good as some of the midfielders that frequent our squad,I wish people would at least try and talk up the talent that is produced in Scotland. Instead the mentality of many is that if he plays for any other team outside Celtic in Scotland, then he cannot be good enough. ... I believe we have had a right good few Scottish players come through the ranks in SCOTLAND recently, and long may that continue. To say that he is not as good as we have is more than a little patronising and very blinkered in my view. If we keep talking down our game domestically, then how do we believe that it will get any better? Anyway, rant over.....
  2. People are too quick to knock our Scottish based players. From what I have seen of Jack he is good enough to play at Championship level down south, which is where he may end up if he has another good season.
  3. This. The SFA are rightly trying to restrict the amount of home tickets falling to Poland and Germany fans (particularly the Poland match as a lot of poles obviously live in the UK - and therefore avoid what happened at the Ireland vs Poland game). I have no problem with you obtaining Scotland match tickets - and i am sure the majority would be the same. Some of you guys braved the Scotland vs Wales game to support your 2nd nation - and that was grim. Your best bet might be to keep an eye on this board nearer the time to try and pick up match tickets in the home end at face value.
  4. Whilst I agree there are far more countries in qualification, it could be argued that a large percentage of them are 4th, 5th and 6th seeds, which we should be beating comfortably anyway to have any hope of qualifying (and I know that we are only 4th seeds ourselves - thanks to Mr. Burley and Mr. Levein.
  5. Aye - as part of the Cumbernauld / Overton TA - 2 bus load! Cannot wait
  6. I think he may have been bothered about Houghton, Coyle and Coyne off the top of my head, there is probably more.....
  7. 2 more sleeps until the travelling begins, and thus the drinking....bring it on! Excited like a wee boy at Christmas!
  8. Click on the link further up the thread....it worked for me after I was unable to find it....some playlist! 260 tunes! It's getting me in the mood for Dublin...
  9. Be good then, Ted Christopher is fantastic!
  10. I'm sure it will be fine. There will be ta there singing tunes. Maybe they just had an off day when I saw them...
  11. I'm sorry, but you couldnt pay me to go...saw them once, pretty dire.
  12. That's nonsense, I'm sorry. He was one of, if not the best player on the park!
  13. It would be great to bump into you guys again, as long as you don't offer us any of that snuff tobacco! Lethal stuff! The Iron Horse is always good, but as others have said there are many places to go before the game in Glasgow. The Renfrew Ferry is always pretty good, watch this board closer to the game to book, as the tickets go very quickly. Usually £2 or £3 per ticket, but worth it as always live bands playing Scottish music and a great atmosphere. You should be able to book tickets in advance and pick up ad buy at the door. They normally run buses to the game direct from there to Hampden too.
  14. I think that is the point, currently gms is in far better form than Forrest, therefore he probably should be in the squad.
  15. From what I have seen of him against my club (qos) he is not even close to being an international player, he needs to develop dramatically to be good enough. Scott Allan if he screws the nut, on the other hand, May find his way into the squad in the next couple of years. Always thought he had the talent, just lack in attitude, he is still young enough to change that though.
  16. Forrest should not be near the squad just now. GMS keeps him out the team at his club, and I think is a better player. In my opinion, Dorrans is a far better player than Forrest....although I do agree they are very different players. Dorrans is similar to Commons, but better. Can you imagine Dorrans playing for Celtic?, he would likely run amok. It's a shame he us currently getting little game time at his club, he is technically very good.
  17. I agree, the Irish fans around us were treated well, there may have been one or 2 isolated incidents over the whole stadium, and from what I hear mainly verbal abuse. I fully expect one or 2 Irish hecklers at the Aviva stadium in the home end, and quite right too. Banter is allowed.
  18. I think that there will certainly be 8,000+ Scotland fans in the Aviva Stadium. Maybe even 10,000+. I know far more that have tickets in the home end than the Scotland end, and most seem to have snapped up tickets - whether that be hospitality, duo tickets (which we got) or over inflated single tickets (which now seem to be getting snapped up). I think 2,000 or less Scotland fans in the home end is optimistic in your part. Regardless, lets have a hell of a party, and a cracking matchday atmoshere.
  19. I don't think St.Mirren will catch you. If you win at the weekend you would have a chance of overturning Ross County (although their form has been exceptional - last game apart). For selfish reasons (if we get to the final) I would hate a trip to Ross County! (although former manager would add a bit of spice - would love to send him down!). I stay in Lesmahagow now - so Fir Park would be perfection!
  20. Oh, forgot about the powderpuff Templeton - and in total dreamland!
  21. And to make it even easier, Boyd, Miller, Aird and Black in the starting line-up too - but wishing for all my christmases at once there.
  22. Yep - As long as Moshni and McCulloch play - we will win that game, just need to win by enough to take it to Ibrox. Although we drew with them 1-1 on our last vist, and were unlucky not to win.
