  1. Makes a change, assumed it would be songs, banners or McCall's trackie - when your obsessed your obsessed, doesn't really matter if it manifests itself on the Hearts thing or the songs, it's just a deep rooted obsession with all things Rangers. Personally, I love it TT
  2. I thought Whiplash was OK, not sure it merited the rave reviews though. The end kind of killed it for me, was just way too implausible in so many respects, and just kind of made a mockery of the rest of the film - won't go into details in case folk haven't seen it. But I know quite a few professional musicians including a couple who have played at the Met in New York and the ending just doesn't add up. Haven't seen Birdman yet, but on Thiplinth's recommendation looking forward to giving it a go! TT
  3. From the perspective of someone who watches rugby live every other week everything is anything but rubbish. Glasgow, with a large majority of Scottish players, are sitting top of the Pro 12 and have built on the success of getting to the final in Dublin last year. Only concern for Glasgow fans is that the SRU are likely to poach Townsend at the end of the season to replace Cotter TT
  4. Gloaters calling gloaters gloaters! It's the TAMB equivalent of the full solar eclipse!! TT
  5. Five pages in and I don't know what you do or what you might want to do - so maybe the problem lies there. Moving job, unless forced, takes a bit of planning and a clear understanding of what you want type of work you want to do. Once you have a direction and a goal you can then start to put the building blocks in place. I would recommend getting a couple of friends to sit down with you and talk through your aspirations and then work backwards to where you are, identifying things that you would require to meet each stage - it also lets you know if your goals are realistic or just a pipe dream. I did this about twenty years ago and I now have almost exactly the job that I sat down that day and described - OK, so I haven't quite got the Lear Jet and fluffing for TartanJon can have it's bad days, but it was all achieved by having a clear goals and setting realistic objectives. TT
  6. If there were true it would be a vaguely interesting point, but it's not. So just making shit up to try to make a point seems in itself slightly obsessive - though I think that we all know that that's more about your interest in me than anything else sweetpea. And don't get me wrong, I am flattered!! If you go back through this thread you will see a rather interesting debate on team selection broke out among those who are interested in such things as, well, football. Then all of a sudden the basement dweller pitches up with his critique which is just thinly veiled gloating - not quite to his epic lambasting of poor Jockstrap but gloating and taunting nonetheless. I merely and simply pointed out he should go support his own team and enjoy the relative success that the fine young Aberdeen team are enjoying rather than self loathingly masterbating himself to death with a half a can of flat Heiniken and a damp waffle watching pretty shit Championship football from Easter Road. It's either that of Den Haag David will have to go round and stage an intervention. And as I say, going by his failed attempt at humour and banter, he appears not to have left his subterranean dwelling since 2009 - either that or his ability to banter is up there with folk who think joining all the letters together in a sentence and adding .com at the end is funny - and that is a truly scary feckinn thought!! Anyway, peace and love to you all, you bunch of sheep worrying scallywags, I'm away to Rangersmedia for some grown up chat Come back Flat Earth all is forgiven! TT
  7. Oh dear god, 2009, when yer patters that rank you might be better off staying in the basement with the kleenex TT
  8. Coming from a wise man whose drunken rantings to poor wee Jockstrap in no way defined a new level of arrogance, hubris and gloating on the TAMB, I'll be sure to take your heartfelt concerns for us poor bluenoses to heart Your comments always make me laugh though, particularly the imagined gloating over signing Dean Sheilds - seriously, go point me in that direction. Seriously though, go focus on your own teams success and stop it with the faux rage ... and for god sake go for a walk on Sunday afternoon rather than barricading yourself in the basement with the TV set to Easter Road, a six pack of bacardi breezers, and a large box of kleenex!! It would be doing us all a favour! TT
  9. Love that folk are writing McCall off after a week - what do folk think he was going to do in that timeframe without the ability to bring anyone in or actually have time to spend with the existing playing staff. I'm happy to see where he takes us over the next few months, and think the Board made the correct decision based on who was available and who can make the greatest impact over the short term - and by that I mean two to three months. TT
  10. I'd agree with that but I think there was something in the first twenty minutes last night that made me think that there was something there - the fact that the team then lost shape and drive is obviously the concern and the reason to doubt. For me the McCulloch/McGregor partnership just doesn't work - McCulloch is way too slow and McGregor is a bombscare. The solution might be (and no laughing at the back) Moshni playing centre half and being reigned in from going forward. He can actually defend but he hares upfield too often and leaves the defence exposed. As a sitting central defender I think he could be effective - though maybe I'm deluding myself!! I'd also expect to see Black come back into the team, and probably Robbie Crawford, maybe even Aird for additional width. I also wouldn't see it as being totally out of the question to bring in a couple of players before the end of the month. Based on the weekend and last night you would and could reasonably expect the team to drop out the playoffs but I think we'll probably cobble enough to get there and then it will be a case of what McCall and Black are able to conjure from the existing squad. Personally though I won't be that unhappy if we don't go up assuming we use a further year in the Championship to gut the team and actually develop a squad that can challenge in the SPL. TT
  11. If anything can be said about this league it appears to be unpredictability - with the exception of Hearts who are becoming extremely predictable (and long may it continue). The way it's been going Rangers could easily lose by five at Easter Road or they could turn that corner and do what no one expects - I have my doubts on the latter, but it's a funny old division and I don't think (again, beyond Hearts) we've seen the last twists and turns. Hard on the basis of last nights performance to imagine Rangers could make it through six playoff matches but still a long way to go. TT
  12. Sorry, well done, but nothing has become clearer on here over the last few years - Rangers are Scottish football TT
  13. I think it's fair to say no one knows. Team seems to start quite well and then they fall away, last two games seemed really promising for about twenty minutes then there seems to be a complete loss of form which may be fitness, or maybe McCall has only managed to get them to retain that much knowledge. Regardless, the team lacks a spine and unless he can find that, then they could be in real trouble and potentially even fall out the playoff race altogether. Sunday will be a real test to see if there is anything there, and also to see if they would be able to compete over two legs even assuming they get that far. Another year in the Championship and a complete overhaul of the squad wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing though. TT
  14. It's all designed to make me look forward to Scotland v Northern Ireland Defence is still rotten with McGregor vying with McCulloch for sheer hopelessness. Midfield creating very little, and as mentioned on twitter, it would be better to take Boyd off and replace him with a dustbin so there's at the least the chance of a deflection into the net. Templeton brought a bit of life into the game and Daly proved to be more of a threat than Boyd but as the game went on you knew Rangers were incapable of holding the lead and to be honest there were moments when I thought Alloa might even have snatched all three points. I still think McCall will turn it around, but whether he can do it over the short term still has to be seen - Sunday at Easter Road will certainly be an interesting watch, albeit probably from behind the sofa with a very strong drink! TT
  15. Right enough, my mistake, we have games all the way through. TT
  16. I don't think McCall has really had a chance to properly influence the team so it's a bit early to say that they won't be able to compete with Hibs or indeed any of the other teams in the Championship ... or bottom of the SPL. Tonight might give a little bit of an indication but realistically we probably wont know for a couple of weeks - the international break could actually be hugely beneficial to Rangers in terms of a decent period of time to take stock and reorganise and looking at the table I can't see them slipping out the playoff picture completely, so he does have time to play around with the team and find a formula that works - so for me far too early to rule promotion out. Players are probably there to compete although I'm struggling to see a central defensive partnership that will work - though dropping McCulloch and McGregor might be a start. If he could find some form from Zaliuskis or even reign in a bit of Moshni's madness (I know that's grasping at straws) or even use Daly, he could maybe find something more solid. Central midfield, maybe Black is the short term answer , and a bit of form from Boyd and you can have a game changer. Lots of if'd and buts though I do think there are options and potential to find a bit of form when it maters most. So based on all that I'm actually looking forward to the game tonight to see if there is at least a change in mentality from some of the players, and of course to see if the crucial suit or no suit takes a crazy twist!! TT
  17. Didn't miss a single game home or away between 1979 and 1985, so more than used to seeing a Rangers side that didn't win, and were often out of sight of the league by the turn of the year. Were some of the best years that I watched football - have to say I also moaned like feck at us being shite, and will continue during the current lean spell It's only fans of other teams that think Rangers fans think they have a god given right to win. TT
  18. Doesn't make sense, I got a picture of a young Andymac TT
  19. Felt a bit sorry for McCall today as I think every player that took to the field was pretty brutal (maybe the keeper escapes criticism) but looking for the silver lining I think it now gives him a remit to make wholesale changes - assuming he can find some mediocrity among the absolute dross (and I have my doubts on that). I do hate to say it, but part of me thinks another year in the Championship wouldn't be a bad thing (and I think currently looks pretty inevitable), assuming there was motivation to clear out the old guard and actually try to build for the future. Really can't express how bad this team is at the moment! TT
  20. People who sing the songs are stupid. I would say the people who sing the songs are the majority but I would say the people who sing the songs and believe in some form of Protestant superiority or are genuinely bigoted are probably a tiny minority. If stuff like No Surrender really outrage you - then I can't help, I don't know the meaning of half the songs they sing now, so I can't really get too worked about the majority of them - even though my clear preference/ideal would be 100% songs about football I think the division between Catholic and Protestant now (in Scottish society) generally doesn't exist - I now have dozens of friends in Scotland and I don't know if they were brought up Catholic or Protestant, nor do I care. If you want to remove this shite from Scottish society then start with schooling then football - personally I think schools should be 100% separate from religion. I agree it needs to be addressed but I also think it's part of a broader educational problem in Scotland and we need to address all kinds of intolerance not just the outdated 1970's Northern Ireland pish. TT
  21. Oh, I think you misunderstood mu point. What I'm saying is there is as bad if not worse in Scottish society that goes unaddressed and it's shameful and needs to be addressed - part of that is sectarianism in terms of the crap you hear at Ibrox but much of it is around far more ingrained and insidious. I would say that much of it is around race and intolerance towards people who don't conform to your standard judeo christian belief systems. For me much of the shite at I hear at Ibrox is pantomime. It's simply really thick and ignorant and probably in most cases doesn't go beyond the confines of the stadium. I, like many on here, hate it, but it really is just dumb people clubbing together for a bit of self affirmation which actually just defines them as collectively stupid. Nowadays little of the anti Catholic stuff goes beyond the ground and itnot society. I just get angry when people think what goes on with the singing is the pinnacle of intolerance in Scotland, when there are far more ingrained prejudices in society which people seem to find quite easy to accept or in most cases blissfully ignore!! Apologies if I don't share the same level of ire towards the terminally thick singing songs about King Billy, I just can't find the energy to give them that much notice anymore. TT
  22. Do you live in some Dick Van Dyke imagined Scotland where everything is just luverly except for the evil football team hidden deep in the woods where bad things happen as the rest of the good people carry on with their bucolic life free from hatred and bigotry?? If you do, I'd love to get a ticket there! I'm first to admit that there is a problem with Rangers and a large majority of the support. Neither the club nor the supporters association have ever addressed the issue properly and it continues to be a blight which hold the club back and understandably makes them a social pariah for many in Scotland. I totally get that. But the reality is it's also a pretty accurate reflection on Scottish society and where we are in terms of acceptance of others - rather than being some sort of strange aberration. Having worked with migrant communities in Scotland for well over ten years I can tell you that bigotry and rascism exist in this country far from the football grounds and terraces of Ibrox Stadium. As someone who lives in Scotland I can also tell you that religious intolerance exists and is uttered on a daily basis by people who couldn't give a shit about football. I hear anti islamic remarks daily and if anything it gets worse every year - most comments I hear put anything sung at Ibrox to shame! Rangers, and to an extent Celtic are just very visible reflections of a outdated intolerance towards religion that exists in Scotland. And yes, there needs to be a heavy hand by Scottish Government to deal with it, but please don't give me the patronising shite that outwith Rangers everything is rosy in Scotland in terms of social tolerance and cohesion because that may be the biggest crock of shit I've read on here in years!
