  1. I see this attack by a Muslim is immediately dubbed a terrorist attack with virtually no delay, while the media have been steering well clear of using the word 'terrorist' for the white-power extremist Dylan Roof shootings in the US last week. The media might as well come out and say only brown people / Muslims can be terrorists.
  2. Varys seems to be on the other side of the world and not 'meeting up' with Kevan Lannister & Pycelle.
  3. I think a lot of Scots tried to spread away from Temple Bar area to get a different experience than previous times. Our group only went to 1 pub on the Sunday in TB, the rest of the time we were out discovering pubs in different parts of the city. That 'Hailo' app was getting a lot of use from us - bloody useful app to get taxis at your doorstep in a matter of minutes!
  4. Agreed. We normally say that to opposing fans at every game, but it was truly meant this weekend.
  5. I was asking after you in Slattery's, Flure (Cove Sheep will vouch). Hell of a brilliant night there on Friday. Well done all involved.
  6. That hour of Game of Thrones seems to have sorted me out. Absolutely fantastic weekend. Would put that in the top 3 out of 25-30 away games. Everyone a gentleman (and woman), both Irish & Scots. I might still be drunk tbh.
  7. There's a few wee lads having their first weekend away from their parents I reckon...
  8. I'd rather they were our Pot 1 bogie team rather than our Pot 6 bogie team like last time!
  9. Doesn't look as if international weekends have been set yet for next season. They'll be around the same time in September & October that they usually are though. All I could find on Wikipedia: The exact dates have yet to be announced by UEFA, but qualifying matches will start in September 2016, following UEFA Euro 2016, and finish in November 2017.[3] The scheduling of qualifying matches, which will be centralized by UEFA, will follow the "Week of Football" concept first used for UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying:[7] Matches take place from Thursday to Tuesday. Kick-off times are largely set at 18:00 and 20:45 CET on Saturdays and Sundays, and 20:45 CET on Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays. On double-header matchweeks, teams play on Thursday and Sunday, or Friday and Monday, or Saturday and Tuesday. Matches in the same group are played on the same day.
  10. Seem to have woken up at 6 am this morning despite not leaving home until after lunch! Ach well, no getting back to sleep now. Safe travels everyone.
  11. All I remember of that show was Ulrika Jonsson coming on, and Fred introducing her as Ulrika Johnstone in his usual bumbling manner. She didn't like that much.
  12. Are the Jurassic Park TA fitting in a screening of the new film at some point this weekend?
  13. Yesterday I thought I had 2 more sleeps until Dublin. Little did I know that I'd be up all night due to a power cut setting of the house alarm several times. Ach weel, 1 more loooong sleep until Dublin...
  14. Interesting that exactly 1 year from now Euro 2016 starts, also in France. The French must have a thing about starting tournaments on 10th June.
  15. Proper Irish boozer on the corner there called the Ferryman. Word of advice - if you are walking into the centre from there you're far better off walking along the river Liffey past the harp bridge rather than along Pearse Street. Bit dodgy up at that end of Pearse St.
  16. Can't talk about the area, but the I've stayed in the other Maldron on Cardiff Lane many times with work, and it's a fine hotel with a nice bar. I assume they're all pretty similar.
  17. In Dublin? Reckon there will be a few hundred scots looking for last minute tickets up by the stadium, so the pubs up round the Aviva will be packed with the boys who were unable to get one. Slattery's will probably be a good shout.
  18. I still don't know why they sailed from Hardhome to the Wilding side of the wall, and then walk down to Castle Black (whichis in the middle of the wall), rather than keep sailing to the Westeros side of the wall, and approach Castle Black from that side. I assume they took the sea route since they were there & back so quickly.
  19. He was merged into Gendry, so in the show Davos set Gendry free in a rowing boat. He must still be out there rowing now, as he hasn't been seen since. Speaking of which - even Melisandre using Gendry's kings blood was only 2/3 successful, as Balon Greyjoy still lives in the show. So he's sacrificed his daughter on a 66% chance of it working.
  20. Lovely video again Byron. I could watch Anya's goal vs Germany and Maloney's vs Ireland all day long. Just a five min clip of those 2 goals to some stirring music would be good enough for me!
  21. At least in the books you get a real feeling of desperation and starvation in Stannis' camp. It just seemed like a knee-jerk reaction to getting some food burned. I rolled my eyes at the part when Davos said: "Looks to be the work of about twenty men" after last week Ramsay asking his father for "twenty good men." Yes, definitely not the work of 15 or 25 men, eh? We get it, we understand who lit the fires, you don't have to hammer home the point.
  22. I've long thought that managers of the national team should have the same qualification criteria as the players.
  23. I thought the Stannis parts were pretty badly developed. There was no real reason for him to do what he did, what does he even get in return? Seemed like a hell of a gamble. The Dany section at the end was good, another few interesting things there for the book readers. More questions being answered about things coming up in TWOW!
