  1. WGS got the starting set up right, we just sat way too deep, you could see the forwards pressing and the mids dropping off. Morrison played like a bitch tonight, utterly abysmal, ditto Brown. No urgency, no aggression, not even any game management like someone falling over every so often, letting the team take on water and get instructions. A very weak performance and we sadly got what we deserved. infuriating.
  2. I know he makes it sound like we're playing on the sun ffs !!
  3. The lack of movement off the ball is appalling.
  4. This is a must win game. We haven't approached like that. Players taking too many touches, too many switching off at key times. Shite, basically.
  5. Mulgrew is an accident waiting to happen at left back.
  6. Naismith off ? Fletcher stays on ? Whit ?
  7. Robertson is a good crosser of the ball but has a major panic button approach to defending. Brown is a #####, Anya looks like he's carrying an injury and Mulgrew for Hanley is mystifying. Everybody else is ok.
  8. Hutton is still our best RB by a mile, Robertsons arrival at LB means we have great attacking balance for the 1st time in years. I think our 1st eleven is excellent and in certain positions we've strength in depth, but there are areas where we really only have one class option i.e. Fletcher at CF. We still have 2/3 years with the RB's we have so hopefully some 16/17 year olds out there will develop into the role.
  9. I've been v. impressed by his skill and athleticism but more so by his composure on the ball, he was tremendous last night. Was a bit obvious with the foul that led to his yellow but he'll learn, I think he's a tremendous prospect and believe managers and Directors of Football across Europe will have picked up on him. If he keeps the heid, works hard and stays free of injuries he could go to the very, very top.
  10. I've seen on Twitter a few comparisons between McGeady and Martin, Morrison etc. the difference is obvious, if either of the English born Scots had been good enough for England they'd have opted to play for them. McGeady was (at the time) thought good enough to play for us but picked Eire through a tenuous link. As it happens, I'd pick Anya and Maloney over McGeady but the impression of disloyalty, maybe even a slight (probably unfounded tbf) suspicion that sectarianism played a part, (see James McLean for another example) hasn't helped. Anyway, his choice was made years ago, him. ?
  11. Walking to game with my son last night, approached by a well bevvied young guy from Aberdeen who was mildly aggressive, especially regarding my unwillingness to divulge my Club allegiance. No harm done, but was a bit annoying.
  12. I think it must have been tactical, Whittaker didn't get forward much either. Maybe concerned re. Polish counter attacking ?
  13. V Norn Iron 1972, 2-0 win. I remember almost nothing of it except an image looking down from high up on the terracing at the Celtic end, my dad holding me while I stood on a crush barrier. Just before my 2nd birthday.
