  1. When he first broke through he was superb in Europe with Rangers but clearly something has happened to him.

  3. You know the problem? Our key players are not scoring for their clubs; how do you expect Christie and McGinn who pay deep for their clubs to be scoring for us? Patterson is a worry though. Ralston is safer I think.
  4. This could go badly; Dykes has been well out of form this season.
  5. Souttar has been playing on the left of a back 2 with his club to accommodate Goldson so it's reasonable to assume he could play on the left of a back 3. If he gets a chance tomorrow and does ok it might mean no room for Cooper in the squad although the latter is much more experienced at international level.
  6. I'll give you an example: Alan Campbell. Did all right in the championship with Luton but nowhere to be seen in the EPL.
  7. They drew v Romania last night with an untried team of youngsters. Scotland did that I'd be happy.
  8. Wales, Northern Ireland and the RoI seem to do all right with English tier 2 players?

  10. One thing I don't think anybody's mentioned is that without the wing backs we have no width at all in the squad; which is why we need a Fraser or a Doak, maybe even Scott Wright though that won't happen. England, as we will see tonight, have plenty of wide midfielders who can play left or right viz. Foden, Palmer, Bowen etc.
  11. Jack would be the perfect choice to defend a lead or replace Gilmour but sadly his injury record will likely rule him out of the Euros. McLean can play centre back so maybe him.
  12. Put it in perspective: Northern Ireland have drawn away to Romania tonight...
  13. All I wanted was to get out of the group stage for the first time ever. Can't see it happening now. FFS even Wales and RoI have done that.
  14. You know what would help? If Gilmour, McGinn and Christie had been scoring for their clubs this season. Don't get get this 'doesn't matter what you do for your club if you're scoring for Scotland'; you bring into the game confidence and touch if you are scoring regularly at club level.
  15. What is this new tactic that Clarke spoke about?
  16. Re Ferguson, it's going to be much harder to fit him in to the team than the Tierney-Robertson conundrum.
  17. I'm sure he will be on at some point.
  18. Turnbull won't get in as long as Ferguson is around. Don't think he's even scored for Cardiff yet. Fraser IMO is a must as he offers something different.
  19. Yes, there is no doubt now. Shankland and Adams certs.
  20. Another thing about Souttar: he is currently playing as a left-sided centre back to accommodate Goldson, and he is naturally right-footed. We could play him in his natural position and benefit from it. You don't have to be left-footed to play on the left (like Van Dyck at Liverpool) but it helps in my view.
  21. I'll be angry if Brown gets in ahead of Fraser; the latter provides width and more goal potential than the former. Gunn has just made a wonder save acc. to reports.
  22. See this is exactly why I would have preferred him staying at Arsenal, getting a few minutes just here and there, staying match-fit. At Sociedad he will be playing every week.
