NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Beautiful but horribly rude maitre'd, badly run, embarrassingly small portions of food at crazy prices. Great location but its all so so awful.
LA are doing a limited run of match badges for the Qatar game. They are £3.50 each incl p+p and are now available to pre order. We envisage sending them out in around three weeks.
They can be ordered at www.loonyalba.com
Over the last couple of years people have consistently asked me for the Brazil badge from the game we played at the Emirates.
Working on the theory you always give the public what they want, it is now available again at the club shop at www.loonyalba.com
Badge features the usual split flag design
Was in York last year for work and ate in the Blue Bicyle a few times. Excellent food and service though the menu is weighted towards seafood.
I would not go near the New Star Inn which is on the river. The staff are clueless and the food is a complete rip off which is a shame as its a great location. I have also heard good things about a place with Whippet in the title.
The Blue Bicycle is on Fossgate as is a pub called the Bluebell (?) they are tourist haters in there and I wasn't served when I went in after work one night. Horrible pub.
There is a Hotel du Vin that one of my colleagues stayed at and he said the food was excellent there.
I went 18 years and a Turkish guy who was in the travel club had 5 pubs. They operate under the name North Shields pubs. I don't know if they are still on the go but the one I was in was a decent boozer. lovely guy as well, Teoman Hunal.
I would tend to disagree with that. I thought it was 15-20 minute walk from the centre. You also have Manolo's bar close to the ground where you can indulge in the cult of personality that is Manolo. He works behind the bar, or did, has bottles of wine with his photo on it and a he tiled frieze where he can be seen leading an army of spanish supporters.
Ok, its not absolutely jumping but there are some bars close to the ground which is a great old stadium.
LA have come to an agreement with the manager of the Albion pub, up the road from Blackfriars tube, so we will definitely be showing all the Scotland games this year in the upstairs bar of the pub.
The Rob Roy has closed permanently and is being turned into flats.
We will be showing the Northern Ireland game. This will be a fiver to non members and includes free pint and a match badge. The same offer will be free to members.
We are trying to organise pies which will also be included in any charge but they are not guaranteed.
Anyone looking for more details drop me a PM
Loved the Laidlaw books. I wonders if he ever looks at the success of one Ian Rankin and thinks it should have been me. Always thought there was little apart from location that separated Laidlaw and Rebus.
Hi,
Am thinking about buying somewhere in the states so was looking to get some tips on the buying process, rental returns, taxes, etc.
Any help appreciated, preferably by PM
Thanks
