Just heard from an Irish fan that many of the Irish fans with home end tickets had their money refunded in the past few days. I appreciate the security concerns, but when you think about the 15,000 plus TA in Paris in the home end in 2007 and 10,000 plus in Dortmund 6 weeks ago it's hard to justify that decision.

Wembley 1983 - lost 2-0. The first of the midweek London games, an attempt to reduce the size of the away support. 1981's "So you tried to ban us Mr Croker?" banner was reprised with "So you tried to ban us (again) Mr Croker?". I remember walking past a Rod Stewart lookalike who was wearing an "Oil Field Trash" badge. Went with my pal from school David Young who I've just found on Facebook after losing touch 30 years ago

Yes, all my German pals said the same. Nop notch support and not the orchestrated support that they're used to in Germany. They loved the atmosphere and on tv apparently all you could hear were the TA. Funnily enough from the Sud tribune though it was not so easy hear the Scotland fans. Probably my best ever away trip. Better than Paris in my view.

Yup - no fun I'd love Hungary in Budapest and Turkey in Istanbul though
