  1. Looks like Stephen Kenny has been speaking to him and he's set to declare for Ireland. Fair enough I guess as I couldn't see him getting a Scotland call up anytime soon. He qualifies as his grandparents are from Derry.
  2. Max Johnston now being linked with, like many young Scots, Bologna as well as reported interest from clubs in Germany with his contract up in the summer.
  3. I's be surprised if he moves as he seems to love being at Man Utd and they're a club who play in multiple competitions so need a big squad. I think the surprising thing for me this season has been that whenever Ten Hag starts him he plays his usual centre mid position but whenever he brings him on as a sub he plays him much further forward.
  4. This time last year Dembele said he was looking at an Ivory Coast call up but he was still open to playing for Scotland
  5. Lee Johnson has said Nisbet is definitely fit for March's games so that's good news. He's also reported as saying he thinks Josh Campbell should be considered and that Mikey Devlin can push for a recall. I think Campbell is alright but way down the pecking order and as for Devlin, an odd comment maybe taken out of context given he's not even played a game for Hibs yet
  6. Exactly, Stewart scored 24 in 46 the season in League One he was called up so a bit more prolific. I think we'd have to have a much worse injury crisis for Hardie to be looked at
  7. Johnston’s contract is up in the summer so even with a compensation fee Brighton could potentially get him very cheap
  8. Thought it was interesting Clarke left him out against Ukraine & Ireland and told him to focus on getting into the Bologna side and it seems to be paying dividends now. As I've said in a different thread, I think it should be McTominay & McGregor against Cyprus because of how they did in the last competitive games but I'd have Ferguson next in line as he's been in much better form than Gilmour, McLean or Jack
  9. The first came from a corner not bring cleared and the second a sloppy pass from the keeper but Porteous not at fault for either. I watched this game and their one against Burnley last week and he looked very assured at the back in both.
  10. Porteous having a solid game for Watford tonight. Must say I wasn’t a fan of him a year ago but he’s improved a lot and seems to have cut out some of the rash decisions from his game
  11. Unlucky for Anderson. He’s sacrificed to bring a keeper on after Pope is sent off
  12. It’s injury though doesn’t sound serious
  13. Fiorini fit again and has got an assist for Blackpool. Burke getting an assist playing out wide for Millwall
  14. Looking into some of our injured players: Patterson is due to play for Everton U21s this evening McTominay should be back in time for Carabao Cup final on 26th McKenna looks like he's definitely out of the March games as he's out for 6 weeks. Dykes is out of hospital but QPR boss says he's out 'for the foreseeable' Nisbet could play against Kilmarnock tomorrow Souttar looking like he won't play again this season with Rangers saying they're keen to not rush him back Also good to see the likes of McGinn & Hickey back in action
  15. Armstrong will keep getting picked because he's scored some important goals in the past and we don't have many other options for wide attacking players. This is why we really need to hope the likes of Anderson, Doak, Mebude, McKinstry, Hepburn can kick on since Armstrong is getting on now I wouldn't even be against playing Doig as a wide man given how far up the pitch he plays for Verona
  16. Would definitely have him over Jack & Mclean. They've done a job in the past but we need to start looking to the future. McGregor & McTominay (if fit) would be my midfield duo after their performances against Ukraine & Ireland but I'd like to see Ferguson & Hackney as the backups.
  17. Feels like they’ve gone backwards under this manager
  18. Hendry starts tonight in a champions league knockout tie. What a turnaround for his season
  19. The odd thing with Shankland is in recent games he's not really even played as a striker, he's been in a much deeper position behind Humphrys
  20. Porteous error in the first few minutes almost leads to a Burnley goal but has looked solid the rest of the half. His forward ball lead to Watford’s opener after the Burnley keeper made an absolute hash of coming for it
  21. Went to the Man City vs Liverpool U23 game today and Mebude looked very good and probably should have scored himself. Josh Adam came on for the last few mins so couldn’t do much. Neither Ramsay or Doak involved for Liverpool which makes me wonder if they’ll be in the match day squad for the first team tomorrow
  22. As a Scotland fan born in West Yorkshire (like McBurnie) I can say I’m not a fan of him to be honest. Used to be a big advocate of him when he was scoring a lot for Swansea but he’s just shown nothing whenever he’s played for Scotland (penalty shoutout aside). Add in his off the field nonsense and he should be low down the pecking order in my eyes. I wouldn’t be against him getting called up but only if injuries dictate so. Currently I’d have Adams, Dykes, Nisbet, Shankland and Stewart ahead of him. I’d have even said Conway too but he seems to have had a dip in form of late
