  1. McLeish must go and replace him with Steve Clarke or Craig Levein. His excuse of it being extreme heat was nonsense. It was a lovey evening only around 26C. Maybe he is going through the menopause or detoxing from the drink as it was not hot at all. His team were hammered 2-1. Should have been 5-1! We got off lightly, by a country where most don't even like football with a population same as ours. His teams have no heart, fight or spirit. They are so weak! A new manager can change the players mindsets. The central midfield is weak as piss. We need a pack of ankle biters in there. Guys that can run and fight all day long. Last night they were over run, when they got the ball only provided side way passes. I can empathise somewhat as forwards Naismith and Russel were lackluster, unimaginative and flat. Naismith was out run easily by defenders and Russel could not hold his breath. As for defense there is no steel, who would be afraid of those guys. Honestly get some growlers in there. Scour the lower leagues for growlers who can header the ball with there face all night long and look better for it! The wingers were so-so. Roberson could not get past a player, nor cross a ball and struggled with a straight forward pass last night, Tierney was ineffective out of position and didn't show much when he had an opportunity. Colin McGregor had a decent game and most of our opportunities. I though when Forrest came on we looked better even with 10 men and 2-1 down, with runners on left and right side. Allan McGregor did ok in goal, his distribution was wanting, he did a lot of long kicks up to Naismith and Russel who could not hold or get to the ball first. Again empathise with him as he had no others outs. A new manager can bring Griffith back, Scotlands best striker. He could source a new big head the baw to partner Griffith, inspire the wingers, toughen up the central midfield, and bring in strength & aggression in at the back. Last night was so embarrassing and humiliating to be degraded by Israel like that. It has been coming since McLeish took over. Call time on McLeish now!
  2. If you are going without a ticket do not worry. I was just at the stadium ticket office an hour ago. They would not sell me tickets for either home or away but said it is not a sell out and you can buy them at the cash desks 3hrs before the match.
  3. Anti-Semitism, what a load of shit! Only the Jews would the need to have their own word for it. It's called racism! What is the word they use for what they do to the Palestinians?
  4. It is steep hill. There is a Gondola going up the hill as well as plenty of buses to get around. I have been told they are cheap but I have never been on one as I have a car or take a taxi. You can see a green bus in the photo I attached. A taxi will cost around £10 to £15 to get from the top of the hill to the ground. Between 4 people its probably as cheap as the bus. If you want to see some sights, the Bahai Gardens are impressive, best to view from up the hill looking down. The bottom of the gardens lead onto the German Colony with lots of restaurants / bars. People live up the hill as its a few degrees cooler...it makes a life a lot more pleasant. The beaches are on the stadium side of the hill with Bars and restaurants along the beach.
  5. You can catch a train from Tel Aviv Airport platform 2 to Haifa. It costs ILS 35.5 which is around £7. It takes a little under 2hrs Alternatively a taxi from Tel Aviv to Haifa will cost ILS 700 around £140 but you can split it 5 ways. Will take about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2hrs depending on what time you are going.
  6. We are drilling gas wells offshore based out of Haifa, so plenty of Scots in the city especially from the Aberdeen area. We are all going to the match. Don't worry about security, I feel safer here than walking around any city in Scotland. The general population are Jewish with many Muslims and I find it difficult to distinguish between them. They are quite liberal here, not like Muslim countries, where Jewish girls wear revealing clothing, plenty bars where you can drink and a decent nightlife. Similar to most Mediterranean countries. We are looking at meeting up for pre-match drinks up the top of the hill. This is where most of us stay and where the main hotels are. See map below showing Patrick's Irish Bar which is a decent size with an outside seating / square which can hold hundreds of people. It is on a sort of large concrete terrace surrounded by a Cinema and restaurants on 3 sides with the fourth overlooking the main road running through Carmel. Across the road is The Bear Sports Bar where you can watch football.
