  1. Exactly it's all theoretical. So as much as people can't say McGregor, Christie et al would be brilliant at Man Utd, you can't say that they wouldn't. We'll just need to keep our fingers crossed that they are given a chance at the highest level and take it. Then we'll have the observational data to back up our theories.
  2. Dammit, I came so close to qualifying. It's a shame you've ruled out Scotland's biggest footballing city. Would definitely qualify via my MacKinnon mother from the Hebrides. Having watched Gregory's Girl more than once should also be on the list of criteria. Maybe you also have to love a half pizza super?
  3. Hahaha I'm now further from the truth I think.
  4. Haha why the distinction between granny and grandpa?
  5. Yeah, I'm not sure his height is much of a problem at all. After all, he did just smash the current squad record for vertical jump at Arsenal!
  6. I'm really starting to think KT at CB is the way forward. We need a really strong footballer and leader in there more than at RB. I'm really interested to see what Clarke decides. I hope it's not bench.
  7. Yeah probably wouldn't start, but would be good to have on the bench, and and as I've said before I think he's a cracking guy to have at the camp and in the dressing room when it comes to team morale.
  8. If John McGinn reads this and sees Armstrong's name on this list, but not his own, he'll be very sad. Sadder than that time Stevie Thompson chucked a spear at him.
  9. If I moved to London and earned that much money as a teenager I'd have been a waster too! I find it more remarkable when these guys are actually able to stick at it to become decent professionals.
  10. I think you're right here. Feels like if anyone is going to make it at a high level it's him, but you never knowm. So for now let's just relax and be happy in the knowledge that in 2 years we may have a really exciting player in our team. Patience.
  11. I bet you a pint they don't beat us at Hampden.
  12. Forrest and Christie scored and created goals in both legs, which is their main job, and McGregor was played out of position. Interestingly major football clubs like Leicester City and Zenit St Petersburg value these guys a lot more than you do, but what do they know right? They're only professional organisations whereas you're someone on the internet. PS: The only thing that makes me angrier than Celtic winning in Europe is Celtic losing in Europe. I love football.
  13. Celtic's attacking midfielders scored and created goals. Their defence conceded more goals. That means the attacking midfielders aren't any good? I don't follow.
  14. Well, they also won us the Nations League, guaranteeing us our first playoff in almost 20 years. Football's funny like that. Also, I find it funny that of the 11 men in the starting lineup tonight, you're singling out for criticism two of the players who actually scored. Forrest and Christie held up their end just fine.
  15. Then put Tierney at left CB so that's the left side solid. Have McKenna as the other CB and whoever at RB with McTominay covering them. Griffiths up top. Now we're cooking!
  16. McTominay McGregor/McGinn Forrest Christie/McGinn Fraser Has that midfield every started a game for us? I love the look of it! Obviously I'd love the look of it more with Ronaldo and Messi in there, but they are not Scotland players.
  17. Thanks for all the responses everyone! I think that it's a really great problem for Scotland to have that we may have to leave a very good player or two on the bench. It seems that the crowd consensus on here is that player is McGinn just now. I think it will be worth revisiting this question later in a season. There's a sneaking suspicion inside me that he's going to make himself more and more undroppable. Hopefully Christie, McGregor, and McTominay continue to do the same.
  18. Mate, your cutlery drawer consists entirely of wooden spoons. That said, it has appeared at points to see Tierney has been more committed to Celtic than Scotland, but there are bunch of factors to consider before questioning his commitment to the national team (most have already been pointed out by others😞 1) He's been injured a lot. 2) Celtic pay his wages and have a lot of leverage over his actions. 3) He's fighting for a place in the team against our best player of the century so far. 4) Celtic has been a lot more fun place for a player than the Scotland team for the last few years. Despite all of this he's never once intimated that he is not committed to Scotland, and had quietly gone about his business when asked to play out of position, and gladly and proudly accepted the captaincy too.
  19. It gives me a real chuckle that if McGinn had a performance like McTominay did today, they would be saying how he's out of his depth in the EPL and a total bomb scare.
  20. Armstrong and Cairney are good footballers for sure, but I'm not sure by which metric you can judge them as being better than those other six?
  21. We should be looking into his grandparentage.
  22. This statement shows a worrying lack of understanding of professional football. Spurs are a MUCH better team than Villa. Hence they were all over them in the second half playing at home. Stopping Spurs from taking the lead for the majority of the game was a gargantuan effort, and Tyrone Mings should have been awarded man of the match for his work! To throw a blanket 4/10 on the entire Villa team undermines how good an effort they put in. It would make more sense to give them that score if THEY had 80% possession and still lost.
  23. Yeah, this is really weak journalism. Not only does he show a lack of understanding of the situation, but he mentions the UK agreement and the fact the rules would need to be changed, without ever explicitly stating what that agreement is (5 years of schooling) or how a change to them would be affected. It's complete nonsense.
