  1. Just starting to think now of the season to come and made me wonder what my hopes are for Scottish players over the next season. Weirdly I'm looking to Rangers for a lot of this. Gerrard has been awful in terms of giving Scottish players a chance but this could be his year. This article (https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-right-back-poser-steven-22301376) highlights Nathan Patterson. If he is given game time do you thinkthere's a chance of making his way into the squad? I really like what I saw of him last season. Their youth teams look promising but players like Mebude is almost 20 so has to break through this season. Anyway, these are the ones I'm looking out for: - Hornby - N Patterson - Gilmour - Turnbull - Johnston
  2. Burke seems to have started up from against Athletico Madrid away. He keeps getting opportunities but I've not seen a report yet that's suggested he's worth those opportunities. Is that fair to say?
  3. Fraser seems to be linked to every club in the EPL. Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Leicester, West Ham and Palace all cropping up in discussions about him. He's not had a good season so I'm surprised that Arsenal and Spurs are still interested.
  4. Am happy with them both being in the squad but the fact that they'd be unlikely to start is really positive. That said, never upset with Armstrong playing.
  5. Leeds linked with a move for Michael Rose at Cov: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/leeds-united-identify-24-year-old-promotion-winner-as-potential-ben-white-successor/ If Leeds are promoted you'd have to think it's too big a jump.
  6. Imagine if Arsenal were forced to play him at centre back and he turns into a revelation!
  7. You'd like to think that the delay in the game could benefit us. Gilmour could be a first team regular. Tierney, McGinn and McTominay could be fit and hopefully Fraser will have found his form. Can't say how good it is to be back on here talking football!
  8. Interesting article today on amount of time give to U21s in the first team: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-bottom-premiership-pile-under-21969151 Scottish football doesn't do too well compared to other leagues.
  9. Very odd this one. May well never show symptoms but they say a huge number won't. Fingers crossed that'll be the case.
  10. It's funny that some English clubs are heavily associated with Scots (liverpool) but not others (spurs). Maybe due to a Scottish manager. As for Spurs these immediately come to mind: Sullivan Hutton Gough McKay Archibald Durie
  11. McAllister and Strachan both feature in three teams so far.
  12. Yesp. Pick a club and see who'd be their best players. liverpool's got to be the easiest
  13. Excluding actual Scots teams, what are teams' best Scots. This is a Coventry'sXI: Gk - Goram RB - Telfer LB - Fox CB - Gillespie CB - Hendry MF - McAllister MF - Strachan MF - T. Hutchinson MF - K. Gallacher ST - I. Wallace ST - Speedie subs - blyth, fleck, carr Mgr - Eric Black
  14. The BBC were re-running the story about Ruud Gullit describing Davie Cooper as one of the best players he'd seen and that he wasn't well known as he never played for a team outside Scotland. So, who'd be the best player that played their entire career in Scotland? I immediately thought of McStay but the further back you go, the more common it was.
  15. Coventry, who should be in the Championship next season, have a back three of Scots who've been really tight this season. Only seen them on the tv this season but interesting to watch next season (if it happens). https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/coventry-star-turns-scotland-scout-21726039
  16. Must be injured though for those 2 to be left out?
  17. Thanks for that. Some really promising players in there!
  18. Don't understand the negativity around McGregor. He's a really football player. Just be glad we've got a great crop of centre midfielders to choose from.
  19. I think McGinn may well be back by then. The Villa manager said he was in non-contact training and he expected McGinn to be pushing for a start next Saturday. If he is then that gives him enough game time.
  20. Amusing to see comments on the BBC web site asking how long Gilmour's lived in England!
  21. Does anyone know anything about TSOANELO LETSOSA? Just reading an article suggesting that Leicester, and others, are interested in signing the Celtic youngster. He's played a few times for the U16's but all articles followed his name with, "who is eligible for South Africa".
  22. I completely agree. Players are always in transition. Otherwise when McGinn was at Hibs he wouldn't deserve a place ahead of somebody in the EPL. Now though he could be in line to a move to a top EPL team if villa are relegated. Naismith doesn't get chosen just because Hearts have had a shit season?
  23. I thought the eldest brother said he'd prefer the Ivory Coast (only eligible for them and Scotland?), Middle brother England (and eligible for all three) and there's one more isn't there? Think he's only eligible for Ivory Coast and Scotland.
  24. I'm not touting him as right back. I'm touting him as back-up right back. I am aware that Clarke played him there in a recent training sessions but he was then injured for that game so it's at least on Clarke's radar. I'm certainly not getting carried away with Palmer. He's a pretty mediocre right back. He's probably on the same level as O'Donnell but I don't think it makes any difference.
