  1. Joke, in the same way that "Forrest was great for the last 19 mins" (he was sent off in 71st min!)
  2. Hard to call. It has to be one of the pinstripe shirt era squads. Out of that squad above, Dailly, Lambert and Naysmith are the only good players. The rest are average at best and most not even close to that. That said, I think Berti was a better manager than Burley, who had better players and did worse that Vogts.
  3. Urgh! What a crud squad! For some reason i have no recollection of that game.
  4. McGregor the only Scot to start for Rangers tonight. Disappointing.
  5. Was that the Uefa youth league or something?
  6. I know what you mean but I think Burke's at a much higher level in terms of his athletic ability (clocked as the 3rd fastest player in world football last season) and starting point (Championship and Bundesliga). He really needs to turn things around though as failing to even make WBA's bench in the second tier is a shocking decline from just 18 months ago (starting and scoring in the Bundesliga). I remember an article in the paper predicting Harper and Barry Lavety would be Scotland's starting pairing up front by 1998 - and I actually believed it too!
  7. Bought tickets just there. Looks as if the wheatfield stand is almost sold out and the other three are greyed out - does that mean it's close to a sell out or are those other 3 stands being reserved for something?
  8. Scotland gemmill looking a lot like Luka Modric there (not in terms of skill, obvs.)
  9. Jack Hendry too. Despite the current confidence crisis I think he's a quality modern CB
  10. Glenn Middleton goal and assist so far for Rangers tonight. The more I see of him the more it feels like he's going to be called up sooner rather than later
  11. Watching it too. How many shots have been skied in this game?
  12. Wasn't it Wycombe he scored 5 against about 6 years ago for Hudds? Back when we thought he would actually make it as a Scotland international ☚ī¸
  13. But we don't need keepers right now. It's 2-3 years from now when Gordon, McGregor and Marshall will be close to finishing up we need to have an eye on. Definitely Ruddy's career is no better than McG's, but he is 5 years younger and on the books of an EPL club. Chances are he'll not break through there, but he's in a more encouraging position than McG who I'm happy to bet will never get near the EPL. And yeah I'm too jaded from the Burchill's Watt's feruz's etc etc of the last 20 years to assume any young player is going to be 'great'. I just see more sense in pinpointing good (no more than that) young potential like ruddy rather than messing around with journeymen like McG. Of course if McG goes stellar and signs for Chelsea then that all changes, but I just don't see enough in a 25 y/o lower leaguer at the moment to make me think that would ever happen
  14. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ruddy Seems a decent candidate and at 20 is a proper 'young hope'
  15. Not really too excited by that tbh. He's 25 and seems anchored at League One level and hasn't really played many games in his career. Not particularly young or 'on the up'. Worth keeping an eye on though, yes.
  16. Me too, so surely it's a knock - especially if he's not even on the bench
  17. Phew. Hopefully a solid season of starts ahead for him and the chance to show what he can do
  18. Doesn't really matter if brown gets injured 😉
  19. True. He also looks like if he wasn't a footballer he'd be a fat b*stard! do like what I've seen of him tho. He seems naturally confident and quite unorthodox for a modern winter in that he loves driving at his opponent instead of checking back or trying to pass round them.
  20. Language! 😉 Middleton looked good. As for whether he'd get into a 352, it all depends on how good he gets. If he finds his level at Rangers/SPFL Prem then McLeish is unlikely to change the national setup to accomodate him. But say Chelsea buy him and he becomes their star winger in the EPL, then I'd expect McLeish to do the pragmatic thing and reshape his team to use Middleton.
