Didn’t see that coming. -

In the Champions League, yes. Rangers have done very well in the Europa League in the last 5 years or so. -

It was an interview with Clement where he said that was Rangers/his preference but they were told it wasn't possible. -

Reasons to be cheerful

We thought about driving as were initially planning on stopping somewhere between New Orleans and Memphis for a couple of nights but when we sacked that off driving became a bit of a ball ache. We ended up getting the Amtrak train between the 2. 8 hours on the train but we booked a bedroom so had our own space and able to stretch out and private toilet etc. Train also had a viewing carriage so it was actually a quite enjoyable journey. We then got the bus between Memphis and Nashville. Originally looked at the Greyhound but ended up booking with a company called Vonlane who run a “business class” coach between the 2 cities. 2 hours quicker than Greyhound and big comfy leather recliners with meal service, drinks etc and got us in about 5 hours earlier. A wee bit more expensive but still great value and a lot less hassle than driving. -
The Referree / Var thread..

VAR is a good tool and can add value. It’s the application of it in Scotland that’s shockingly bad (and England from what I’ve seen tbf). A full review of how it’s used is needed and if that means benching it for a few seasons then so be it. -

This is more of past than current reason but just back from 2 weeks in New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville and had an absolute ball. 3 amazing cities that while have a lot of similarities with each other also have their own distinct personality. I'd been to Memphis before but it was 26 years ago and only for a couple of nights so it was good to be able to spend a bit more time there and really get to know the place. I'd recommend all 3 if anyone is thinking of heading over that way (although the jetlag has been kicking my arse since we got back!). -

Just seen a clip of the Dens pitch and the covers they apparently hired from Celtic. I don't know why but I was expecting something a bit more....advanced than a couple of big tarpaulins held down by breeze blocks. Surely they could have got them from a local Jewson's rather than waiting to get them sent up the A9!! And maybe got ones that covered the whole pitch! -

More confusion than anger. What was the point of the 11am inspection when it was clear the weather was to worsen and a later inspection would always be needed. It's farcical. -

The Great Outdoors...
Fairbairn replied to Big Ramy 1314's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
Goat Fell was the first "big hill" I climbed back in September 2022. It was a beautiful day and we made it up in about 2 hours. Lovely wee lunch at the top and a chat with a few other people. Within about 15 minutes on the way back down my right knee seized up and about 20 minutes later my left knee did likewise. I literally got to the stage where I couldn't bend either knee and those boulders on the way down aren't easy to navigate when you have no flexibility in your legs! I was walking like John Cleese for about 2/3 of the way down. Having got up in decent time it took us almost 4 hours to get back down and was absolutely hellish! I've done a lot of work on my legs since then but if I never see Goat Fell again it'll be too soon! -

These arseholes that throw bottles, lighters or whatever else are absolute bellends. The only “positive” to come from it is that Rangers have been pretty swift in handing out lifetime bans to recent perpetrators so hopefully these pricks will be identified and dealt with similarly, as well as getting collared by PS. -

I’ve just seen that Joey Barton thinks it was a penalty, I’d like to change my answer. -

That’s not been particularly easy for us in recent years though. I can’t really call it at the moment and still fancy both teams to drop points somewhere outwith the Old Firm game. -

It’s a penalty for Rangers. It’s always going to be scrutinised to the nth degree regardless of how clear cut it is. -

It’s a clear penalty and gets given in any other game for any other team. The insistence that he was “on his way down” is nonsense. He’s went down theatrically after the contact/foul but it wasn’t a dive. As far as I could see the ref and VAR got all the big calls correct (eventually). Was hoping for a win obviously but happy with the draw having been behind twice. -

Interesting selection from Clement. Sterling for Barasic at LB is the right call for me. Lawrence over Cantwell is questionable and Scott Wright starting is always going to raise eyebrows. No McGregor in the Celtic staring XI is a massive boost for us. Can’t really call this one, can see it being a draw. -

Funny how we’re always told that the English Championship is one of the toughest leagues in the world yet Mikey Johnstone, who couldn’t kick his own arse over multiple seasons for Celtic in the SPL is absolute ripping it up down there! -

If that’s the state of it now there’s no way it’ll be playable for Wednesday after 90+ minutes on it today. -

Second pitch inspection at 1pm at Dens. An absolute farce and no consideration for away supporters.
