  1. I've added links to player profiles in the whoscored database. Looks like the big weak link is in the full-back positions. Grigalava doesn't seem to have kicked a ball this season and Lobjanidze is playing in a mid-table Cyprus team.
  2. First game is today. Just tried to find some information on the SFA website - what a disaster that is. The UEFA site is quite good now though http://www.uefa.com/under19/season=2015/matches/round=2000537/match=2013539/prematch/player-lists/index.html Looks like McManus pulled out and was replaced by Angus Beith. Don't understand why there are no Dundee United players in the squad. By my reckoning 5 players would have been in with a shout, but Spittal's absence is genuinely surprising.
  3. I agree about Bannan, but I'm actually hoping to see Dorrans starting on the right. Morrison doesn't really play on the right these days, although he could do a job there.
  4. On paper I reckon they look something like Northern Ireland - able to put out a decent 11, but no depth to their squad. They also seem to lack a goal scorer at the moment.
  5. Steven Fletcher was the whoscored.com top rated EPL player at the weekend.
  6. Manager Bruce said: "Andrew has totally and utterly shocked me with his ability to play at the highest level." http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/519112/Hull-Steve-Bruce-Andrew-Robertson According to whoscored.com Robertson and Morrison are the most in-form Scottish players in the EPL.
  7. I would love to see Naismith starting behind Fletcher, but it would mean only starting two from Morrison, McArthur, Fletcher, and Brown. Tough choice.
  8. If there's no call-offs this could be one of the strongest squads we've had in years. Naismith, Fletcher, Brown, Morrison, Dorrans, McArthur, Robertson, Hutton all playing at the top level, fit, and on form. D Fletcher, Anya, Bannan, Marshall all proven international players.

    Alan Hutton

Alright, so Hutton isn't Maldini, but I don't understand the timing of this thread. Ripping in to one of our better players before a game? Hutton has his weaknesses, sure, but he's still good enough to be where he is, which is every minute of every game for a team in the top-half of the EPL. There's isn't much between Bardsley and Hutton, but there's no-one else near them in terms of best available right-back.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_national_football_team#Current_squad Players that seem to be playing a decent level Defence Guram Kashia Gia Grigalava Solomon Kvirkvelia Midfield Jano Ananidze Valeri Kazaishvili Forwards Levan Mchedlidze
  11. Caddis has worked with WGS. Russell and Maguire seem unlikely because they have quite a lot of good players ahead of them in their positions. Palmer seems to have been playing right-back, which would surely rule him out too. Broadfoot isn't young anymore. Jamie Ness is playing for a team at the bottom of League 1, so highly unlikely. That just leaves Tom Cairney, or a St Mirren player, or a complete unknown.
  12. Here's the Championship players, who played on Tuesday, are young-ish, and probably don't know WGS, sorted by form Tom Cairney Liam Palmer Chris Maguire Kirk Broadfoot Johnny Russell Paul Caddis
  13. Here's the list of players in the Championship sorted according to whoscored.com form Christophe Berra Gordon Greer Tom Cairney Steven Whittaker Paul Dixon Chris Martin Craig Bryson Kevin McDonald Craig Forsyth Grant Hanley Jordan Rhodes Liam Palmer Craig Conway Chris Maguire Ross McCormack Russell Martin Kirk Broadfoot Chris Burke Johnny Russell David Marshall Murray Wallace Ikechi Anya Jamie Mackie Paul Caddis Don Cowie Shaun Maloney Ryan Fraser
  14. Good point. That would rule out Conway, Rhodes, and Pawlett
  15. From the SPL I guess you could also add Jason Naismith Gregg Wylde Kenny McLean
  16. Here's the list showing only players that played on Tuesday and who WGS hasn't engaged with Birmingham City: Paul Caddis Blackburn Rovers: Tom Cairney Derby County: Johnny Russell Rotherham United: Kirk Broadfoot Sheffield Wednesday: Chris Maguire; Liam Palmer Crewe Alexandra: Jamie Ness
  17. Here's a list of players in England who's clubs had games on Tuesday. Birmingham City: Paul Caddis; Denny Johnstone; Andrew Shinnie Blackburn Rovers: Tom Cairney; Craig Conway; Grant Hanley; Jordan Rhodes Blackpool: Gary MacKenzie Bournemouth: Ryan Fraser Brighton & Hove Albion: Gordon Greer; Craig Mackail-Smith Cardiff City: David Marshall, goalkeeper Derby County: Craig Bryson; Paul Coutts; Craig Forsyth; Chris Martin; Johnny Russell Ipswich Town: Christophe Berra Middlesbrough: Andy Halliday Norwich City: Cameron King; Russell Martin; Conor McGrandles; Ewan McNeil; Steven Whittaker Nottingham Forest: Chris Burke; Danny Fox Rotherham United: Kirk Broadfoot; Michael Tidser Sheffield Wednesday: Chris Maguire; Stevie May; Rhys McCabe; Liam Palmer Watford: Ikechi Anya; George Byers Wigan Athletic: Gary Caldwell; Don Cowie; Fraser Fyvie; Shaun Maloney; Aaron Taylor-Sinclair Crewe Alexandra: Fraser Murdoch; Jamie Ness; Scott Shearer; Bradden Inman If it's someone young-ish then we're down to this Birmingham City: Paul Caddis; Denny Johnstone; Andrew Shinnie Blackburn Rovers: Tom Cairney; Craig Conway; Jordan Rhodes Blackpool: Gary MacKenzie Bournemouth: Ryan Fraser Derby County: Paul Coutts; Johnny Russell Middlesbrough: Andy Halliday Norwich City: Cameron King; Conor McGrandles; Ewan McNeil Rotherham United: Kirk Broadfoot; Michael Tidser Sheffield Wednesday: Chris Maguire; Rhys McCabe; Liam Palmer Watford: George Byers Wigan Athletic: Fraser Fyvie; Aaron Taylor-Sinclair Crewe Alexandra: Jamie Ness
  18. I would say they've been decent together. For me, I think it would be Martin. He's a good defender, and he can play the ball out from the back, but at the end of the day he's a good right-back and an average centre-half.
  19. It seems Berra has been consistently good for Ipswich for a while now. 10 games into the Championship season and whoscored.com rates him as the best player in the whole league. According to their system Berra has won man of the match 5 times in 10 games. More MOTM awards than any other player (Chris Martin is second with 3). Is it time for Berra to be given another chance?
  20. You've got a point. When you break it down by position, even though they're not bang on form, there's no-one should be in ahead of Steven Fletcher, or Russel Martin, or David Marshall. Phil Bardsley is playing really well, but he would still be behind Hutton and Robertson.
  21. Right enough. He's not been marked as Scottish, that's why I missed him. He would be between Broadfoot and Burke on the list.
  22. Here's the list of players in the Championship also sorted according to whoscored.com form Christophe Berra Gordon Greer Tom Cairney Steven Whittaker Paul Dixon Chris Martin Craig Bryson Kevin McDonald Craig Forsyth Grant Hanley Jordan Rhodes Craig Conway Chris Maguire Ross McCormack Russell Martin Kirk Broadfoot Chris Burke Johnny Russell David Marshall Murray Wallace Ikechi Anya Jamie Mackie Paul Caddis Don Cowie Shaun Maloney Ryan Fraser So according to club form, Cairney, Dixon, and McDonald all unlucky to not make the squad. Russell Martin, Burke, Marshall, Anya, and Maloney all lucky to make the squad.
  23. Here's a list of EPL players sorted according to form (whoscored.com) James Morrison Phil Bardsley James McArthur Steven Naismith Andrew Robertson Alan Hutton Graham Dorrans Allan McGregor George Boyd Charlie Adam Darren Fletcher Scott Arfield Steven Fletcher Matthew Phillips Ross Wallace According to that the two Fletchers are lucky to be in the squad and Bardsley must be wondering what more he has to do.
  24. The differences in this squad are: < Kevin McDonald < Charlie Mulgrew < Callum McGregor > Christophe Berra > Andrew Robertson > Ryan Gauld > Graham Dorrans > Scott Brown > Steven May
