  1. The place can be a bit ropey, so take taxis at night. They're probably as costly as here, as is food and drink in the centre. Plenty of nice restauarants, but don't expect them to be deadly cheap. Be a bit careful with some of the pubs as they are glorified knocking shops, with young girls all over single guys if they happen to wander in. Avoid pubs with guys in leather jackets as bouncers. I'm told that they are members of the ethnic Russian mafia that causes trouble in Riga. Best place I went was "Bites Blūza Klubs", which is a blues / jazz club where you can eat and hopefully there will be a band on. Nice place to take the missus. Jurmala is nice, but will be a bit quiet (and cold) at this time of the year. If you're going to visit one museum make it the Museum of the Occupation; you'll see why the Latvians hate the Russians, who still make up a significant proportion of the population. If you like looking at buildings, you'll love Riga.
  2. 99% chance of that statement being absolute shite. We've got more than our fair share of sectarian halfwits, but there's plenty of it about all over Scotland. In my opinion, things are much, much better than they were a number of years ago.
  3. The real Irish are great and I've always had a great time when over there; it's the Garngad "Irish" who'll be the arses, as they were at Hampden the last time - "You are my Larsson........" Hopefully the atmosphere will be fantastic and, of course, Scotland win.
  4. Our taxi driver told us that if Celtic draw Legia in the Europa League, the Celtic fans will be in for a seriously hard time.
  5. A bit disappointing that sad bastards like me who collect the things have to rely on some guys, who got them for nothing, selling them on e-bay for £30 plus. Hey, that's capitalism, kids.
  6. Most welcome I've been made to feel on an away trip. Terrific people, despite the nonsense with the flags.
  7. Pish. My team played at 3.00pm meaning that I couldn't use the £40 ticket I bought as part of the Scotland season ticket package and I couldn't get rid of it. I won't be buying a season ticket again for Scotland.
  8. Thanks for the beer tips, gents. Looking forward to trying them.
  9. I've got a £40 one for the Govan (part of my season ticket allocation) and I'll happily take £25 for it.
  10. 35,000 sold up to today, I believe. Pricing policy, 5.00pm start and in competition with League matches = 15,000+ empty seats. What will they get for Gibraltar, Sunday evening at the same prices? And these people are running our game?? Feckin' heid-the-ba's.
  11. Excellent....drinking Polish Guinness in an overfull Irish pub isn't my idea of wee trip abroad. Do they have an equivalent of our dark beers, heavy / export for us auld yins?
  12. This is a farce....if it's true. Again, if it's true, we shouldn't be playing matches just to allow a team to make a few bob.
  13. Yip, mine are playing at 3.00pm too. 5.00pm to suit the TV, but not the fans. Much the same as in Dortmund...8.45pm on a Sunday night - result, 10,000 short of capacity for Germany's first competitive game as World Champs.
  14. Cheers, Rob. The seats are for two lads who are friends of my daughter. They are at Edinburgh Uni and are nice lads.

    My e-mail address is hampdenfan@yahoo.co.uk

I have one of the lads' mobile numbers: Jamie Cochrane 07518346061.

I'm quite happy to sort it all out if you want to deal via me for payment etc.

Thanks for getting back to me

  15. I'm looking for two seats to the Emirates. Any left? Cheers
