  1. Finally a competitive game v England. The only way it can get bigger is a game at a major competition. Euros????
  2. Bruce Forsyth Kirk Douglas Prince Phillip Kim Jong un George bush snr.
  3. All the six pointer games so to speak were all disappointments. When did we last win a crucial game than would mean qualification or progress in a competition ???
  4. Best moment had to be France away. We were in the away end and I swear when we scored more than half the ground celebrated. Also French fans were very friendly! But then most away games you have a story to tell!! Home games and in my time it had to be Italy at home. The best atmosphere I've ever been in especially after the equaliser. And then Faddy missed THAT chance. Heartbreak.
  5. Yep I'm not getting this either. Forrest has pace. End of.
  6. Has to be Duncan Ferguson for me too. If you could get him focussed and mind on the job he was as good as anyone. Would have made drogba look like big Kevin Kyle. No offence ?
  7. Yes can't think why I put Macedonia instead of Georgia. Possibly both nightmarish away fixtures!!
  8. I hope so. This has been lingering since the Ireland home game as a vital one. 3 points and we are probably two wins away and bearing in mind one is against Gibraltar ?!?
  9. Can't call it. Probably Maloney alone for his goals. Without his goals we would be sunk. Lost in Poland, drew against Macedonia, Ireland and lost away. A simplistic way to look at it I know. Not saying someone else would not have stepped up but if you take Maloney away then we have 6 less points (depending on my maths??)
  10. Maloney has been key for his crucial goals and works himself into the ground. Naismith and brown work their arse off and brown in particular gives us that who the f**k you talking too attitude. Anya has been our out ball in tight games. I could go through most of the team like Martin Mulgrew and Marshall but everyone has played their part. No stand outs but a solid team effort. I'm afraid we don't have that one player who you look at and go "bloody hell!!"
  11. Agree. Georgia away is massive. But then for me georgia away was always looming in the background as a potential screw up. A win is a must. If we lose then we need to beat Germany the following Tuesday. Need a win and anything of Germany , which I fancy, is a bonus.
  12. Forsyth badly exposed given that Anya wasn't playing which would have occupied coleman. So was two against one a lot of the time.
  13. An ok Result from possibly our worst performance of the group so far. We were outplayed and out fought in the first half. Ireland where very one dimensional and where only going to score from a set piece. Don't think Forsyth worked although can see why he was played instead of Robertson (physically)but not Whittaker who is tried and tested in big games. Why anya never started is a mystery unless he was carrying an injury. And Ritchie for me has not showed much in the games he has been involved. Georgia away is a must win and then if we beat Poland we are pretty much there assuming we beat Gibraltar. Just my opinion though!!
  14. Mcgeady has hardly set the heather on fire at Everton and rarely starts. McCarthy is a decent player with a lot of legs but still rate brown a more effective player. Interesting contest between Anya and Coleman though!!!
  15. Away to Germany and away to Poland two out of the four goals conceded where down to poor defending. If in each case Hutton and mcarther had booted the ball clear it may have ended differently. Seems we are getting punished for individual mistakes. Just a thought.
  16. Have to say our record in games against home nations and yes I put roi in that category is pish!! But still think come the end of this year we will be there or thereabouts.
  17. We have played the two hardest away games!! Think the next game is a must win which I believe we can. By all accounts Germany again have bossed the game and failed to get all 3 points in their last two games. If you look at who has played who then it doesn't look too bad with roi and Gibraltar at home for the next two games then we should be looking for six points. I'm still positive and fully believe we can win all our home games and possibly go unbeaten for the rest of the group. I look forward to all the abuse and doubters ??
