I used to deal with the FT amongst a group of publications related to investor press. They are as lazy, shoddy and unprofessional as all the others. Why anyone would think otherwise is beyond me. I despair at the appalling standards of newspapers in the UK....

whether you buy him out or not if he is getting the reported 70% of margin then the ongoing costs in missed revenue opportunities would be enormous.... I dont see any option but to buy him out, long term consequences would be tragic.

just guessing - if they are £3m down plus £500k for Jan and there will need to be another loan for Feb operating costs that gets you to £5M easily, maybe £10M is stretching it. But £5m plus whatever Ashley values the rights to sales of merchandise at - he's not going to give that up for less than £5M ? So after you buy the club you walk in the door and you are another £10M down plus £1M/month ? is that closer ?

so anyone who buys the club will inherit cash debts amounting to £5-10Million (or more by the time a sale happens?). Also people like Ashley will have the rights to much of the profitable cash flow ? This would mean shelling out £20M or so to buy the club and then another £10-£15M to pay off the creditors, buy back the rights and then a million a month on operating costs ? thats feckn bonkers, is anyone going to do that when it will be available in a few months for practically nothing ?

I believe mortality in Scotland is around 55k per year...... the vast majority I would imagine are older Labour & No voters.... we only lost indyref by less than 380k votes. Wonder what Labours strategy for attracting young, yes voters is ?
