  1. Present home top is best in ages. The collar on the last one had enough material to make an away strip.
  2. Sea of Saltires ? Is there a flagpole ban at Wembley ?
  3. His appearance at HT in Dublin was as much a boost for us as a body blow to Ireland. A cracking player for us. Hugely important almost inspirational wee guy. We are a much better team with him in it.
  4. I wasn't staying near pick up in Moldova hence the hassle and the stadium in Iceland was a half hour walk from our hotel. A simple posted ticket would have been far simpler.
  5. He will be the one in Tblisi looking like David Soul's grandad.
  6. I have had to pick up on 5 occasions since my first one in Iceland 2002. Pain in the backside and an uneccessary task in this day and age when a postie can deliver for the price of a stamp....or 3 stamps in the case of the SFA. 45 min q in Kiev. Middle of nowhere in Iceland & Moldova Return train journey in Amsterdam. No thanks in Tblisi.
  7. We will win in Georgia and it will all boil down to Poland at Hampden.
  8. Wales Iceland Scotland Faroes Macedonia San Marino. Thanks
  9. Blue shorts much better. Was reborn in Zagreb.
  10. We need to win but it's gonna be a tough game. Would take 1 0 right now.
  11. Was slagging off some wee guy in the Horse Show bar for wearing the same t shirt as me. Turns out it was Wes Hoolahan.
  12. Our Co efficient would improve significantly with wins over Georgia and Gib.
  13. Big Davie Marshall was in the Auld Dubliner too. Didn't stay long couple of pics and away. Fine looking fellie if I may say so.
  14. Big difference when Anya came on. He was picked for his height.
  15. Decent wee reconnaissance visit to Copperface Jacks last night. 15 years after 1st visit & I can confirm it is still a remarkable place.
  16. Marshall Hutton Martin Greer Whittaker Mulgrew Morrison Brown Naismith Anya S Fletcher I don't think WGS will play both Hutton and Robertson. Too attack minded. Whittaker to start LB. Mulgrew a cert in holding role with Brown and Morrison in front. He likes Morrison who can sit and attack. The front 3 if fit pick themselves.
  17. No danger WGS will pick both Hutton and Robertson in Dublin. Far too attack minded.
  18. Aye. At left back. Hutton at right back.
  19. So regardless or results v Ireland and Qatar, it is unclear if we will be pot 2 or 3. Win both and its most likely pot 2, lose or draw 1 and its likely pot 3. However we need a friendly. Anya for example will not have played in 6 weeks b4 Dublin and Mulgrew/ Hutton / Robertson / Naismith have had fleeting sub appearances only in months. So its agreed we need a game ! I accept the opposition is weaker than most would like, and lower down the rankings may impact on our provisional World Cup draw rating, but the final say on who we play is with WGS. Perhaps a few folk should send him a wee note expressing their feelings ? Quite a few want someones head for this. Strachans is it ???????????? WGS clearly views preparation for Ireland as his priority and who are we to argue. The last time we had a competative June fixture, he led us to a victory against Croatia, a team world ranked 4, away from home, so I am happy with Qatar if he is. They beat Slovenia and Algeria in their last 2 games, so it should be competative. However, he clearly wants a game with minimal risk, the ability to give players a run out and try the odd experiment, without the worry of a defeat and a dent in morale. Quite a few nations are playing teams with similar gaps in ranking points. We have 62 between ourselves and Qatar. England play Ireland with 46 places between them. Plus we could still get pot 2 and be given a rotten group. Ireland were seeded 2 and were hardly celebrating getting us Poland and Germany. We only won 1 game out of 4 versus teams in pots 5 & 6 last time. Time for a chill pill all round methinks.
  20. Beat Qatar - which we will. Beat Ireland - which I hope we will ! Equals pot 2. Don't see the fuss. Yes its a money making friendly, but most of them are. England / USA / Brazil / Japan.
  21. South Korea v Uruguay in Italia 90. Drawing 0 0 with 5 mins injury time played and Forseca scores with the very last touch to send Uruguay thru at our expense. We would have been in a coin toss with Austria for place in last 16 had the ref blew for ft 5 secs earlier. Was 17 at the time and have never ever felt worse.
  22. We need a friendly and better taking one that's hopefully risk free, gives WGS the chance to try a few things and still get a win. If we also beat Ireland it's likely pot 2. SFA are fannies but folks should chill. Come June we will be celebrating victory in Dublin and pot 2.
