did you pay it? its common here that unlicensed taxis sit outside stadiums and event venues looking to scam people. it is a big thing here and run by mafia types in the city. police dont want to deal with it, so its up to the you as the customer to challenge or pay, you find most of these taxi drivers and pretty big hard looking cants, but i do love a challenge sometimes. One guy tried the 2000kc thing with me and got 300kc and lunch voucher thrown at him.... seemed happy, maybe he was hungry, :-)

Loads of wee vendors on the streets, pizza places and fastfood (McDs< KFC etc) around old town and Wen Square. If your are looking for something specific let me know.

What about if your not in the travel club, is there a chance to get a ticket. Being based here in Prague and not in the Travel club i was just gonna buy section next to the Scotland section. but if there is a way to purchase a ticket even better. obviously after all Travel Club members have purchased.

Drinking in the streets - no real need to other than when on the Square, which is then tolerated as long as all are within order, note that various restaurants/bars wont allow you to use the toilets unless you buy or pay something, so always good to have some coinage in the sporran. There is a public toilet off the square up an ally again this is chargeable at 5kc IIRC, As for Weather - We are having a particularly warm winter over here, that said its still a bit parky at times and could turn colder at any time. Yesterday it was 12c and this week we will get snow and temps down to 0c - bring a extra t-shirt to be on the safe side.

Whilst i tend to agree with you the below quote is not entirely true. Even the Czechs moan about the piss poor service and product in bars and restaurants. :-) its a Prague thing, once outside Prague you can see service and quality much better. "Problem with Prague is that many places cater for tourists who will never return" head to Zizkov, top end of Vinohrady and beyond and you can find a decent pint in most little bars. My local is 19kc a beer just now. I have noticed the exchange has been dropping so it is getting slight more expensive for you guys, last month 38kc to the pound, this month already at 34kc.
