  1. Perhaps but I don't think Nishikori would have beaten Novak anyway. Nishi has been a little disappointing of late.
  2. Kukushkin is no mug (ranked just outside the top 50) and is a hard and flat hitter which are the type of players who have a habit of causing Andy problems. I'd say his tactics he used were to negate Kukushkin's strengths and so didn't allow the aggressive side of Andy's game to shine which was a shame - still it got the job done. Andy's game is so strong there were probably several ways he could have played to win that match yesterday but in order to win Wimbledon he'll need a lot of aggression.
  3. Sloppy from Murray and never really found his rhythm. Sure he looks set to win in straight sets but he must up his game and I am sure he will. The slams are all generally about getting through the opening rounds with minimum fuss and at least he looks like getting through in straight sets.
  4. Calling someone racist I'd hardly call a joke whether in jest or not.
  5. Calling someone racist I'd hardly call a joke whether in jest or not.
  6. Debian I don't see your problem. He simply said he isn't good enough and presumably the rest of the baggage hr refers to is merely the player's bad attitude.
  7. I agree but I guarantee you there will those that will only see this as a racially-motivated attack. It is this crazy politically correct-obsessed age we live in. By all means Forrest etc can be lambasted as shyte, McGeady a judas yet dare to criticize Feruz and it becomes purely racist.
  8. I'd be careful if I were you. There is a lunatic fringe that lambast you as a racist if you ridicule this bloke's loyalty (or lack of), talent (or lack of) and mental application (or lack of). I have in the past and was called a racist. However, do the same with any of our players and it is fine. I can't work that one out.
  9. Yes I see what you are saying and perhaps I should reword it and say that I think Murray is better on grass compared to Djokovic. As min pointed out look at Novak's winning streak over Andy away from grass - but on that surface Andy has the upper hand. Regardless of how long ago those two key wins were they also came at a time when pressure was immense on Andy to succeed and he did. Now that is not belittling Novak as a grass courter but I'd say it is his weakest surface (but still have him in top five grass court players at the moment).
  10. That was Murray losing against Federer just at tail end of him at his peak but Roger (it is fair to say) is past his best at slam level now but grass still holds his best chance of one last slam win. Djokovic will win Wimbledon if he doesn't face Murray - that is what I will say. But when it comes to grass all the experts admit Murray moves better and then there are the facts that Murray has won more grass court titles than Djokovic and has a better win percentage in all of his grass court career matches compared to Djokovic.
  11. I think it is fair to say Andy is a better grass court player than Novak so that will hold him in good stead if they should meet I'd say. I think they have played each other a couple of times on grass in crunch matches and both times Andy has won in straight sets (Olympic semi and Wimbledon Final). My chief concern is Murray losing to a Dimitrov-type - that would be a sore one to take again.
  12. Is that because you can't post up 'I want to draw England'
  13. Well we are close to singing from the same score sheet as obviously we'd all prefer any of those three over the rest.
  14. Sorry but this isn't just going on the Northern Ireland result AND performance which was not golden. Look at their campaign and they have more trouble scoring goals than us and results such as 1-0 win at HOME to the Faroe Islands display they are not in the same calibre as others in pot 1. Now forgive me for referring to recent form but we got a nasty shock when drawn against Wales recently so that puts me off getting them again and would take them in order of say Romania, Wales, Croatia and then anything after that starts getting nasty.
  15. Sorry mis-worded or misleading. His fourth Queen's Club title puts him level on four wins with legends of the sport such as John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick. Nobody has ever won this title five times....yet. So no I am not putting him up among the all-time greats of the sport for out-and-out achievements before you get your red knickers in a knot Parklife.
  16. Congratulations Andy on your 4th Queen's title. Now up there among greats of the sport for such a feat. His 34th title in the bag and things going nicely for him now.
  17. Onwards and upwards Andy. It would be some achievement to win Queens for a fourth time.
  18. Point here is Romania aren't even a one man team and is why I'd much sooner draw them. Pretty logical choice for dream draw for me - looked far from top seeders when drawing against Northern Ireland whilst Wales were beating Belgium in the same round of fixtures.
  19. It happens at every club in football. It is called wanting as much money as you can get for players you are selling. EVERY club from the lowest form on non-league clubs to Real Madrid do it.
  20. Exactly. I mean come on if you were putting an advert in the paper trying to sell your car would you write: Loads of owners, covered in rust, thirsty engine and spongy breaks. Of course not. You bum the thing up to elevate the price or concentrate on the strong points.
  21. I agree. Basically, Poland are where they are due to their win over Germany. However in their other crunch matches so far they have drawn at home to us and drawn away to Ireland so they are not on a different level to us. When put under pressure they are susceptible.
  22. Troicki beats Isner in straight sets and will play Murray in the SF tomorrow.
  23. Maybe not. Viktor Troicki took the first set on a tie break and leads 1-0 in the second set.
  24. Murray wins in three sets and looks likely he will face John Isner is the SF tomorrow.
