  1. Agree - it simply can't be argued any other way. The offer, the vow, was made to stymie the momentum to Yes and it did more than that - it reversed the trend. If we lived in a democracy not controlled by the Establishment then media would be arguing that this was an affront to democracy. Where were the Panorma type programmes investigating what the Establishment got up to so that a Yes vote was averted? The answer of course is that the media are part of Establishment as those in control are there at the behest of the Establishment. Call it what you will - the old boy network, appointments through patronage or vested interests. Public opinion is easily manipulated by one-sided media and especially so when so many are conditioned to unquestioningly accept the media's message as truth.
  2. Well done Scotland ...deserved draw...they had best chances but we had plenty of good possession.
  3. What a let off ....they should've scored....
  4. Can we get another one ....my nails are being shredded..
  5. We've had bulk and best possession and control. ...just get a goal.
  6. Playing well ...but Whittaker giving me the jitters.
  7. First Whittaker then Hutton ... Schoolboy errors.
  8. Thanks for heads-up. Booked a few concerts including opening concert which is a tribute to Martyn Bennett and his album "Grit" that I mentioned in "what do you have in car cd" thread.
  9. Alan - you've lost the argument and now you've lost the plot. As you are going away off on other tangents the only conclusion is that you can not justify your previous, arguments that the vote was democratic, fair and transparent - so you have indeed lost the argument. Go ahead and have your little rant .... but you are not convincing anyone to move on or even give your arguments for so doing any credence.
  10. I argued against the points you were making re democracy, fairness and transparency. I note that rather than dispute my arguments you have resorted to the usual Unionist tactic of innuendo and smear. This means you have lost the argument. I despise Westminster and UKIP in equal measure but it is ironic that you brought UKIP into the equation seeing as how the media and Westminster are dancing to their tune and that is part of being "Better Together" - so you and the rest of the Unionists just need to suck it up.
  11. It was anything but a fair and transparent vote! At the insistence of Westminster the vote was only meant to be a Yes or No to Independence. Westminster, seeing they were losing, then changed the terms of the debate. Osborne said there would a new offer of more powers and the NEXT day Brown came out with statements that these new powers would be a modern form of home rule and also that we would get as close as you can get to a federal government. Danny Alexander said that the new powers would effectively be home rule. Then there was the "Vow" that was unspecific. How can the Vow be transparent when no-one knew what powers were meant and many were thinking "home rule" and "federalism" - programmed into their heads by Messrs Brown and Alexander. No, not fair nor transparent - Scotland has been cheated. It would now seem very likely that the new powers will fall a long way short of anyone's understanding of Home Rule. Of course we will need to wait and see .. but if the powers don't match up to promises then the people of Scotland, and particularly those who change their mind to a No on the basis of these promises, will have been conned into a No vote. On that basis all bets will be off and no-one could argue that the No vote was democratic or fair. In the meantime, we're not going anywhere or accepting anything..........
  12. After recognising the music on Danny Macaskill's fantastic stunt cycle video filmed on Skye I dug out the CD it came from - The late Martyn Bennett's "Grit". The actual track is called Blackbird. The record company has been smart enough to upload this and a few others onto YouTube. Grit and Liberation are definitely worth a listen.
  13. You state that you did not feel bullied or lied to ...well if you could not see bullying and lies by the Unionists it can only be because you have been brain -washed or perhaps it is you that is so bitter and twisted that you are unable to see any wrong by those you support. Maybe you could comment on the morality of Better Together's campaign leaflets telling folks if they didn't know how to vote then they should vote No. This was repeated on polling day when undecided voters turned up still unsure at polling stations and went in to vote No 'cause they got handed a leaflet at the gate by Better Together who reinforced the "undecided vote No" message on leaflet by telling them they had to vote No. At the polling station I attended they were also telling all sorts of lies - we would have to join the Euro as we couldn't use the pound etc etc. So part of the No majority you are trumpeting were actually undecided, told they should vote No and lied to, - what does that do to your calculations.
  14. Your use of "separation" defines you.....as does your "better together" take on and statistics. The fact is so many were bullied and brain-washed to vote No by mass media, the Establishment, self-serving Unionist politicians and a deceitful offer of new ,unspecified powers. All of this was an affront to democracy ...so please don't come on here pontificating more of your Unionist shoite.
  15. UKIP's rise has been accelerated by their disproportionate media coverage and particularly on BBC's current affairs programmes. Pre the last General Election BNP and other English nationalist groups were on the rise. I think the Establishment have given extra publicity to UKIP to marginalise more extreme right wing groups that were gathering momentum in England. Now that independence has been thwarted by the Establishment we can only expect the UKIP cancer to make further inroads into Scottish politics.
  16. It's the establishment elite brain washing the public into a stupor whereby they cannot think for themselves. A homogenised compliant populous will always be controllable by the establishment ......they just need to keep feeding them mind numbing dross that keeps them happy and tell them what to think through the media. Unfortunately, Britain never felt the full effect of the French Revolution.
  17. I don't mind No voters singing Flower of Scotland in fact it can only be seen as encouraging. Some of them will sing it because they love it and there will be some who will maybe "think again". Deep down, if you are categorically against something, you will not sing in support of it. For instance, even though I am not a rabid anti-royalist, I would not, under any circumstances, sing, or even pretend to sing, God Save the Queen.
