    Milan

Milan is on the face of it one of the less remarkable Italian cities for tourists, although the best bits aren't in the centre - by all means visit the Duomo, but for eating / drinking and accommodation I would recommend staying in the Navilgi area - anywhere around Porta Genova should be good. Not sure about tickets for the San Siro but given the size of the stadium it shouldn't be a problem unless a Milan derby I would think, particularly given neither Milan side can be said to be at their peak at the moment. I was at a gig at the San Siro last year and was pleased to note they have extended the metro (red line from memory) right to the stadium.
  2. Sorry mate, have cleared out some old messages. I won't be through west this week unfortunately - do you know anyone in Edinburgh who could pick it up for you?
  3. Got one for South Lower available - looking for face value £57 and can meet in Edinburgh this week to hand it over. PM me if interested!
  4. May have one available South Stand Lower at face value of £57?
  5. Edinburgh - Rome - Malta Saturday, Malta-Poznan-Edinburgh Monday. Worked out bang on £200 return. Get all day Monday to explore Poznan too.
  6. I have two tickets for Scotland v Italy at Murrayfield tomorrow going spare - excellent view from Row A of the Upper East Stand - face value is £25 each but would be happy with £40 for the pair. Send me a PM if interested!
  7. Keep checking the site - resale tickets come up every few days.
  8. Another tranche of Pool A / B tickets went on sale at noon - single seats (£35 - £65) for the Japan game at Kingsholm available as of 12:45...
  9. Routings from Edinburgh at the moment for £132 return as well. It's the best trip of the Six Nations and I'm really looking forward to it next year - two years ago I got sunburnt in late February there so hoping for more of the same! Would recommend staying in the Trastevere district - lots of great bars and restaurants. Not long now!
  10. Saw it in the flesh today in a rugby store - I've always had issue with the high polyester content of the Macron shirts and this is no different, if not worse - it practically shines!
  11. Japan tickets available at 14:33 in all price categories.
  12. Glad you got sorted out - think it was just one pair available so you did well!
  13. Looks like a few £85 Scotland v Japan tickets have gone on sale as of 12 noon today on the RWC ticketing website...
  14. Yup, there was a fair few £20 ones on this morning. Tuesday morning seems to be a popular time for tickets being released for resale.
  15. Stayed here for the game last year and would echo what you say! We took a bit of a magical mystery tour to the Olimpico from the Tibertuna station in Trastevere, which involved a walk through a nature reserve and over a hill - never again and a taxi next time I think!
  16. Keeping checking, resale tickets are coming up all the time. In the past week I've picked up a pair of Scotland v USA tickets (£20 each) and Italy v Canada tickets (also £20 each) by logging in at different times of the day. Despite none being available in the sale, you could get a paid of Italy v Canada tickets right now for £20 each - obviously someone has released them for sale this morning.
  17. I go to a lot of Italian rugby games and I always get tickets through www.ticketone.it or www.listicket.it. These are official sellers like ticketmaster so no dramas, and you buy and print your ticket and then scan it at the gate to get into the stadium. Never had any problems (other than when the Argentina autumn test in Genoa was moved to the Friday night with 24 hours notice but that's another story!) You'll have no problems getting tickets - the Olimpico holds about 80,000, and all home 6 Nations games were moved there from the much smaller Flaminio a few years back. I'm not aware of Scotland fans congregating in any one area but you could always email the FIR to ask - I will have a look for an email address for you when I am home tomorrow.
  18. If she was greeting about the colour of her Scotland top them I daren't think about her reaction to that Gibraltar equaliser...
  19. An observation. An interview included in Rugby World magazine last autumn with Scotland and Edinburgh fly half Tom Heathcote contained the following text: “Heathcote’s dream of emulating his boyhood hero Jonny Wilkinson came a step closer when he played for England U20 at the Junior World Championship in 2012, but the then Scotland coach Andy Robinson was already courting him. ‘He phoned me around Christmas in the 2011-12 season and asked if I’d be interested in playing for Scotland’, says Heathcote. ‘I said I would be, but I wanted to play the rest of the year with the U20s, having come through the age groups with that group. I also didn’t necessarily think it would be the right time to go into the international set-up, having only made my debut for Bath a few months before. I wanted a lot more club game time under my belt. ‘After the JWC, Robbo approached me again and said the option was still there. It was a tough decision. It was in the back of my mind because I was born in Scotland, but I never really expected the offer to come about at all, let alone so soon. ‘You can’t think what you’re going to do in that situation until someone presents you with the opportunity – it’s very difficult to say no. I knew it was the right thing to do. I have been capped. Some people thought I should have held out and played for England one day, but I have no regrets.’ Now Heathcote wasn't involved yesterday, and no blame can be laid at his door for the result. I'm not having a go at him personally either - he's likely to be far from the only Scotland player who has had the same thought process in coming to a decision on whether to play for us, and it's something that will only continue if the SRU pursues its strategy of "project signings". But if the talent pool is so shallow in Scotland that we're left having to pick players who consider whether to pull on a blue jersey as "a tough decision", we're always going to struggle. Personally I'd rather see 15 players lose and who would answer the call without hesitation than having folk dilly-dallying about if and when they want to play for Scotland.
