  1. It's far easier for people to believe the tag when it's said about an attacking player, as they score and assist goals, but less easy when it's said about an anchorman. Deschamps and Dunga would also come into that category.
  2. Well, I disagree. Everyone has their own definition of what "world class" is. If you can have Paul Scholes, Zinedine Zidane, etc, in your pocket in one season then I would say that that makes you world class. He could've/should've stayed with Dortmund for longer than a season, regardless of that (and more success he could've had) in my eyes he would've walked into any team in the world. For me, being able to play for any team In the world makes you world class. Besides, it's not like he was a one season wonder, he also had pretty much the entire Rangers midfield in his pocket for a few years. Plus his performance against Brazil in 98 was top notch, so much so that Dunga said that if Lambert was Brazilian he'd get into the Brazil first 11.
  3. Well, the debate came up just how good the EPL really is, so yes. .
  4. Really? In the 96/97 European Cup final he got one assist and he man-marked Zidane out of the match, citing neutrals (and his manager and team mates) to say that he was man of the match. So, getting an assist and marking one of the best players of all time in the biggest club match in Europe isn't enough for you? If that isn't the mark of a world class then I don't know what is.
  5. That's the thing, take out Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool the rest of the league is just an extension of the English Championship. The EPL is massively overrated. Head-for-head, La Liga is the best league in the world.
  6. Watching the Scotland Vs Morocco match again I don't think it was a bad performance. Certainly not as bad as I thought it was at the time. All three of their goals could've and should've been stopped. If Burley wasn't sent off we would've probably have drawn the match.
  7. Good stuff. It's always sunny isn't particularly archy, so you can start watching it from any episode of any season. You might want to watch it from the start, though.
  8. Never seen it. Not sure if I like the cast, though. Yeah, I think you would have to watch an entire episode to really get it. Generally, it's about 5 unlikeable and narssistic people who are pretty much living in their own world, and that's exactly what their bar is. Cheers, Blackadder and Frasier were class, still are, actually. Nah. Not an idiot. People like what they like.
  9. Yes, and I bet people said the same with about Phillip Lahm (right back) before Guardiola turned him into a world class anchorman. Paul Lambert was an attaching midfielder before he was transformed into another world class anchorman. Hell, Paul Scholes started off as a striker before he was moved into midfield.
  10. Thanks for that. I've never used Gumtree as it always seemed to be a wee bit more rogue and unstructured than eBay. But I'll give it a look. But yes, I think eBay are trying to emulate Amazon in that way and make it a lot more professional. Which means the casual seller will get booted for the seller who sells 1,000 items on a weekly basis.
  11. True. I do think we should stop thinking about Danny Wilson, though.
  12. Their thinking is probably to make the selling process a lot more streamlined. The increase of people selling items will off-set and eventually overtake the amount of people who get banned from eBay. It's cynical on their parts by basically culling off the casual seller. Maybe that's the thing, though, the more you sell the more you're judged. eBay introduced a standard dashboard a while back, if you fall below it then you're in jeopardy of being sanctioned. I've got one negative feedback in the past 12 months and now I'm banned from selling. It's insane.
  13. Wow, thanks very much for your insight. Thank you. I'll do that. What's the worst that could happen, right?
  14. Seems like a lot of people are in the same boat. It would appear that eBay are putting the squeeze on people who sell on eBay, they're pretty much telling people to sell more or you'll be banned from selling. Dicks. Does anyone know of any good eBay alternatives, if the worst comes to the worst?
  15. McKenna (SPL), Souttar, (SPL) Bates, (Bundesliga 2) Hendry, (SPL) Hanley, (Championship) Cooper (Championship), Mulgrew (Championship), Lindsay (League One), Wilson (MLS) Trouble is, none of them play at the highest level. I have hopes for the first three, but the others have either had their chances or they're yesterday's men.
  16. OK. Here's the situation. I've been on eBay since 2005. I have 600+ feedback points, and I think I'm on 98% for the calendar year. I just received an email from eBay telling me that I'm now allowed to sell anymore. They're still allowing me to buy... so big of them. By these measures you'd think I would have 100 negative feedback points, but no, I have ONE negative feedback point. And that was because Hermes failed to deliver on the day that we agreed. If I change my details on my account and the close my account, would I be able to sneak under the radar and open up a new account without the a-holes finding out that it's me?
  17. People knock US sitcoms but at least they have a formula that works occasionally. The days of Red Dwarf (when It had both creators on board), Steptoe and Son, Only fools, Blackadder, etc, are long gone. People should also check out "Siblings", it was on BBC Three. It took a lot from It's always sunny, even the music. Think of and English Dee and Dennis and you have "Siblings". The blaring colours, the popular music, the happy people living happy lives being all happy with everything, and then there's the cute waitress and the nice guy bartender who "will-they, won't-they"
  18. You have to wonder what utter dross was rejected if these lot got commissioned. Dishonourable mention goes to "Not going out", too. A sitcom where every other line is a set-up followed by a punch line. It's insurable. If I watch an entire episode I'm liable to kill anyone who comes within 50 yards of me.
  19. Have you watched it lately? To say that it's aged is being kind. The others that I've mentioned haven't aged a bit, even Cheers. Trust me, if you can't stand Friends type sitcoms then you must watch It's Always Sunny as it's as anti-Friends as you could ever see. Watching 5 narcissistic sociopaths is a lot funnier than watching 6 do-gooders.
  20. It's just a shame that it's not on a well known UK channel. It doesn't receive the attention that it deserves. "The guy tries desperately hard to win an award" sums up its universal unrecognized state. Why it hasn't on multiple Emmys just shows to underline that only banal and bland sitcoms win big. Hell, the one award that It's always sunny did win they weren't even invited to the ceremony. Season 13 was a strange one. They brought in different writers and the actors just didn't seem to be that enthused to be there. It was one big steaming mess. They're signed up for one more season... I'm not looking forward to it.
  21. Have you got access to the "Vice" channel? They show four episodes back-to-back on Friday's at 9. I first got into the show in March and I immediately got hooked. Managed to get seasons 1-8 for a tenner. That's a broad statement. Seinfeld, Curb your Enthusiasm, It's always sunny, Cheers, Frasier, etc, were all great shows. It's funny how people say that they don't like US sitcoms, without knowing that the people who write US sitcoms are usually the ones that go on to write the movies that they love. Spot on. I can't remember the last great UK sitcom. Probably Red Dwarf/Only Fools, and that was a long time ago.
  22. Good quote. I don't see any positives. If the performance schools start producing players who are composed while under pressure and are able to control and pass a ball then I'll change my tune. I suppose McLeish playing Forrest inside and giving him more freedom has been a positive, and who knows, maybe Forrest will do a Bale and fire us into the Euros. Fingers crossed.
  23. Is anyone else a fan of It's always sunny? I'm surprised that there isn't already a thread dedicated to this brilliant and hilarious show. It's funny, people have been waiting for so long for a sitcom to take Seinfeld's crown, but it just so happens that it's been here since 2005. Season 13 isn't that good, though, probably because the cast are all doing movies and they have other projects, so they did season 13 half-heartedly. If you like Seinfeld and Curb then you will definitely love It's always sunny. People have said that it's like "Seinfeld on Crack", so that's the biggest endorsement you can receive. It's always sunny in Philadelphia - The best bits
