  1. Liverpool play in a fluid way that several players rotate during the 90 minutes, similar to Barcelona and Manchester City. I think this is why it took Robertson a while to break into the first team, he had to adapt to way that Klopp demanded of his players. This has enhanced Robertson's football intelligence, so much so that I'm sure he's exceeded Klopp's expectations. I can definitely see him replacing wither Milner or Henderson. He's turned into a leader and I think he would excel in the engine room. Klopp knows what he's doing (understatement) so he knows best, but I'd love to see him shifted in the middle. Not saying that he'd be like Gattuso but they do share the same enthusiasm. Both would run through a brick wall. Remember against Man City when Robertson sprinted and closed down five different players? He reminded me of a pre-illness Darren Fletcher.
  2. Actually, did you read my prior posts? I did note that he filled in the middle for relative long spells against Napoli (also against Arsenal) and looks classy in doing so. But he didn't spend long enough in the middle area for me to cite it In my previous post, but I can assure you, he could definitely play in the middle of midfield and in the middle of defence. We have? I don't remember, sorry.
  3. Well, that's your prerogative. Personally I think he would take to it like a duck to water. Plus it might give Tony Gallacher a chance to break into the team. In his relatively short career he's been a left winger, left back, left midfielder. He's shown that he's versatile. He could certainly shine as an anchorman. I'd definitely trust him more than John McGinn in that position. Dangerous thing to say. Celtic and Scotland fans said that John Kennedy would be center back for 10+ years, look how that turned out.
  4. I just think that he would thrive in the middle of midfield. Liverpool play in a fluid way and he found himself in the anchorman position for a period on Tuesday and he made one cracking interception that lead the fans to chant his name, en mass. Generally, how many fans chant the name of a fullback? I think being at Liverpool his awareness, his ball retention and his general football intelligence has hit the roof. If you play for this Liverpool team then you must be versatile: he sometimes swaps positions on the left midfield with Milner, he sometimes fills in when the central midfield has been emptied. He has the same engine as John McGinn but he has far more quality on the ball, as well vastly more intelligence off the ball. You don't play for the team who is 1st in the EPL if you're careless on the ball and/or lackadaisical. If he moved into an anchorman position for Scotland then yes, we would miss his attacking attributes, but that's where Tierney comes in. Irrespective of Tierney, I'd still think about playing Robertson in the anchorman role.
  5. He definitely has the engine for it. Hopefully It does happens eventually and Klopp promotes Tony Gallacher.
  6. And I see that Bayern Munich have turned Kimmich into an anchorman even though he's a superb right back. The same thing could and should be done with Andy Robertson.
  7. I was about to say that. The strips from DH Gate are probably made in the same place as the originals. I bought the new home top and it's pretty much the same as any originals that I've bought.
  8. Whatever the reasons are, hopefully he makes a full recovery, for his family's sake.
  9. He was absolutely immense. Should've also have had two assists if the Liverpool strikers done their jobs.
  10. No idea, but you can get it for £60 at JD. PLUS... wait for it.… you... get....a.....free...……..FLAG!!!!! *waits for the stampede*
  11. Oh. To be completely honest with you, I couldn't tell his proper name if I tried, as I don't know it. I just usually glance as the names here, so everyone one bleeds into the one for me. I know that it had macaroon in the name. And an e. That's about it.
  12. It is, but he stopped it after I asked him to PM me if he has any personal issued with me. Weirdly, I never heard a peep from him after that.
  13. He's certainly a box of tricks from what I saw. I'd say the same about Callum (sp?) Morrison at Hearts. It's weird how all of a sudden we're producing a few decent wingers (Morrison, Johnston, Middleton, McLennan). Let's just hope they improve. Edit: He's on the bench.
  14. No. You're definitely not on your own with that one. Tierney is a fantastic player so I'd play him as the left (wing) back. I'm probably on my own on this one, but I'd play Robertson as an anchorman. I've watched him closely for the last couple of years and he's developing into a bit of a snarler with a bit of bite, also, he's very good at ball retention. I'd certainly trust him in midfield more than I would McGinn. If anything, I'd play McGinn in a more advanced role as he has a tendency to fluff a pass... do that deep in midfield and you're going to concede.
  15. You make a good point. Are you sure? We had the conversation about merging teams last week. So, are you going to bring it up every time I post? It's about climbing the ladder. Of the Scots in the EPL: Robertson climbed the ladder, Fraser might, but Paterson won't go any further, nor will McArthur or Snodgrass. Tierney probably won't need a move like the aforementioned, as he's with a (currently) more successful club than they were.
  16. I don't know. Andy Robertson has to pay his dues with Hull for a few years in order to get a big move to a top 6 club. It might be a wee bit different with Tierney, what with him being with the team he supports and playing in Europe, etc. Whatever happens, it'll be interesting to see.
  17. No. It definitely is different. "When will he grow up..." - Meaning "It could be this year, or next year or ten years from now" "Why hasn't he grown up..." - Meaning why hasn't he grown up yet?!" There's a nuance there.
  18. So, you take a conversation from what, four days ago? and use it now? Have a lot of time on your hands?
  19. He's been liked to Bournemouth and Everton in recent months, but I don't think there were any concrete bids. I think if Celtic received a bid of £20m-£25m then they'd accept it, question is, would any team offer that amount?
  20. See? Someone trying to score a point. Fail. My post was "When will he grow up..." not "Why hasn't he grown up...". See the difference? Try again, though. I see that you've replaced Eire macaroon as my stalker.
  21. What would make it a super team?
  22. I suppose, at a pinch I can see how people would construe it as a dig. But it really wasn't. The "grow up" thing is probably the trigger, but it's off-set by the "I wonder when". It's not like I said "It's about time he grew up", if I did write that then yes, that would be a glaring dig. Nah. Trust me, mate, my skin is as thick as a Rhino's rear.... a lot smoother, though, I'm pleased to say. It does kinda feel like certain people (not you) are trying win points. I mean, fine, mock me for liking three at the back, but surely there's a statute of limitations. I don't mind, though. I can assure you. I suppose another variable is that most top teams already have top quality left-backs, so I suppose we wait till all the planets are aligned.
