  1. Christ them prices are madness looking at £150 (includes the fees) for a ticket that would usually cost €50 (£36.22 with today's rate) I'd easily say you pick tickets up from touts around Dublin for cheaper than that on the day
  2. I'm just waiting to hear back from mark who makes the flags for us hopefully will hear back from him soon. I've also contacted the fai to ask if a minute silence would be taking place before this game to see if both names could be included in this. Once I hear anything from either I will post it up here and on the Facebook page
  3. We 100% will get something sorted for this game! a few lads who are part of our page on Facebook were in same area as Nathan in Glasgow and are determined to get something organised in his memory for this game. The idea we have ATM is of the irish and Scottish flags with hands meeting in the middle with a picture of Nathan and a message written on the flag (like gone but not forgotten etc) I only heard about connor tonight and have mentioned him to the fai when asked about minute silence etc. It's terrible to hear the young lad was planning his trip to Dublin only to pass away before it. Things like that really puts life I to perspective and shows us how lucky we are to get to enjoy matches like this and shouldn't take them for granted like we do at times
  4. Hi guys mentioned it over on the Facebook page but sone might not have seen it. The lad we get to make the flags accepts payment by PayPal so for convenience sake when we get things arranged will use it for anyone looking to donate. Had suggested that any surplus money be split and donated to the sunshine appeal/another tartan army charity and a charity of the irish fans choice Have contacted the fai to ask if there is a minute silence/applause being organised for this game as well as been informed about another young lad who sadly passed away recently while planning his trip to Dublin
  5. Hi guys Been a bit of talk between few irish fans into arranging something in memory of Nathan for the game in Dublin. We thinking of getting a flag or something made up in his memory and getting both sets of fans to sign it if they wish and then could present it to his family in his memory Just checking to see if yous have anything planned yourselves for the game as could work together if yous did. We have someone willing to make us the flag at cost price if we go with this idea *also I'm aware members of Nathan's family will be making the trip over with a branch of the tartan army
  6. Always enjoy a few pints in murrays when in Dublin. It's run by a donegal man
  7. Be cutting it very fine it's 22 minutes in a taxi on a normal day with no traffic. This will be a match day on a Saturday evening so will be much more traffic about that area to start with so could easily take 40+ minutes to get out to the airport from the stadium. Other issue would be getting a taxi out near the stadium can be hard at times
  8. Obviously lads the guards will turn a blind eye to you drinking on the street out near the stadium etc but that doesn't mean can crack open a few cans anywhere in the city. Our guards are generally grand on match days and nowhere near as strict as the police were over in Glasgow
  9. Nothing officially confirmed on it but we been informed by several people in the association this is what's planned. Now that doesn't mean it's what will happen but if they want to prevent large number of scots in the hone end (unlike what happened with poland game) it's the best way to go about it. Still big demand from irish who didn't have access to the presale or missed the deadline
  10. It's not the best but grand for getting a few hours kip at night fact yous have the room to yourselves makes it even better. It's on gardiner street which is a few minutes walk to oconnell street. Be about 10 minute taxi to harcourt street which is 1 the main places to go for nightlife in Dublin (has good few nightclubs on it)
  11. All of the above are great bars before games but will be packed especially for Scotland game as massive crowd expected around that weekendSlatterys is now the hone of ybig so will be plenty happening around it on the day. Bes a great atmosphere about it and doesn't take that long to get served as usually have 3 or 4 people going around taking orders so you don't have to go in and stand at the bar to be served. *if all else fails there's a spar shop across the road from it that serves cans. If it good weather go in get a carry out and drink it on the streets
  12. In fairness most of us were entitled to only buy 4 extra tickets in the presale and knew irish fans looking for tickets
  13. You seem confident the information we giving is false. Where you getting your information from as I know I was given similar figures last Wednesday and would be extremely surprised if no more tickets were sold in the remaining 4 days of the presale
  14. It the opposite IMO the fai has had very poor ticket sales for the England game and everyone I talking to much more up for the game with yous. No figure is confirmed for presale yet but judging by the demand for presale codes I'd be surprised if it not a lot less than the 7000 that went on general sale for poland gameAlso no guarantee the fai will put them on general sale online. They put England tickets on general sale last week through specific stores around Dublin and could do the same again. Could be extremely limited number on general sale online *that figure of 42000 on Thursday isn't meant to include sponsors tickets etc
  15. Guys I heading over to IRELAND game in September and have sorted buses for our crowd heading over. Had 2 different crowds get back to me for price of 50 seater buses 1 was charging €375 and the other said could arrange it for €350. We actually went with the dearer options as they accepted payment later where as the other crowd asked for it upfront. Both companies also could supply 8 seater buses for €80. If want any details on either company send me a pm
  16. There were less than 1000 tickets left on the presale at 11:30pm last night. Now apparently they were releasing tickets by the block but evening doing it that way I'd be amazed if are anything like 8000 tickets left. That figure of 42000 was what I was told on Thursday so had 3 days of presale left.
  17. Our presale is just about to end at 12 o'clock. Still tickets available which means more than likely there will be a general sale which will have a very limited number of tickets available (from looking at seating map is tickets in upper south stand and a few left in the west upper and lower. Only others are premium level priced at €120) The fai did something different for general sale for England selling them in a number of shops before putting them online (still not online) i wonder will they do similar for this game. Will stick to my estimate of between 8-10k Scottish in the stadium (was similar talk of us having 15-20k in Glasgow and was way of the mark IMO)
  18. The presale for season ticket holders and block bookers started today and will run to Sunday. After this would imagine fai will look at number of tickets and either extend the presale (like did for poland) or announce the general sale. From what I'm hearing really big demand for tickets from supporters clubs/season ticket holders/block bookers but the clubs and leagues haven't taken same number of tickets as did for poland (a lot of poles who are living here sourced tickets this way) This might mean a possibility of a general sale but with a very limited number if tickets available in it
  19. A lot of issues between fai and some fans after the game in Glasgow. I do get responses from them but there the generic responses. Il be travelling down to Dublin on the Friday so hoping to attend the charity fundraiser that being planned between both sets of fans Have never heard of needaticket.ie before but assuming its a secondary resale site. I know of other resale sites having issues over here before as touts were selling tickets on them before they ever had tickets in their possession. Recommend using a secure payment type if using sites like that to allow yourself a comeback if something went wrong. Or even better keep the money and buy tickets off touts on the day won't be much difference in price
  20. At night taxi won't be to bad I got taxi from copper face jacks to airport before flying to Germany for game in October and was about 22. Say taxi to dcu be about 15-20 euro. Few mates of mine were late at booking for the weekend and are staying out there as anything in nearer the city centre was expensive compared to the usual pricesLike your going to spend majority of the time in the city anyway so may take the cheapest option for a bed IMO as only going to spend few hours in the place
  21. What's your magic trick to getting replies from the fai. Us irish fans emailing away and hear nothing back lol. It's panning out like I predicted it would with massive demand from our own fans meaning be little or no tickets left for general sale. Be the 1st game not to go on general sale in the new stadium (can't remember any others anyway)
  22. The 15% I was mentioning us for our away games not sure how many they get to sell for hone gamesIf I was to estimate I'd say won't be many more of yous in the aviva as were us in Celtic park in November so around 8k. Think some people are over exaggerating the number of tickets bought in 501 and 502 by scots to start with. Have to remember for irish fans who aren't season ticket holders this was the only opportunity to guarantee tickets and also the fai could only sell a very limited number of these packages As newryrep mentioned earlier tickets for the Scotland game are selling better in the clubs presale than they did for the poland game. A 2nd presale is to be offered to the 10k season ticket holders yet (can purchase 4 each if same as poland) the fact that 7000 tickets went on general sale for the poland game helped increase the number of poles in the home end. I said a while back on here didn't think would be a general sale for Scotland and will stick to that.
  23. Get yourself to harcourt street and will have your pick of nightclubs, diceys and D2s are on that street as well as the infamous copper faced jacks. Should have no issue getting in with kilts either
  24. Apparently abbey travels agreement with fai is a guaranteed 15% of the official allocation for all away games. Been that and the fact fai give supporter clubs priority is the main issue with us. The members of these clubs are season ticket holders like rest of us but they get priority over the individual fans. A number of these clubs took small allocation of tickets for 1st 2 away games yet got much larger allocation for Scotland. I know if people who hadn't attended an away game since game in wembley (wouldn't even be included in last 10 games) who got tickets through supporter clubs for Glasgow yet the individual fans who spend every penny they have following the team were left without and had to buy of the sfa to sit in the home end And then delaney had the cheek to blame the sfa for this mess. The blame stopped with him IMO, this the same delaney who can be seen on most away games giving away tickets in vars the night before games yet he says he doesn't get a personally allocation of tickets
  25. At least with your £50 membership cones a system for allocating away tickets. We don't have any system and they point blank refuse to implement 1 saying it be impossible to do. Figure that 1 out seeing as most countries can do it. Your right they are alienating a large number of fans but to make it worse these are sone of the most loyal of fans and if a points system was in place they would easily be near the top. For example if points system was in place for Scotland in November I would of been on 5 points (should of been 6 but had to cancel trip to Sweden at last minute) yet I had to sit in the home end in Glasgow as my application was unsuccessful. You can start to understand why I wasn't best pleased when you realise 3 of the games I missed were 2 friendlies in the USA and the game in georgia which clashed with another trip I had
