    5-3-2 ?

Agree that if you play that you dont expect your fullbacks to get up as much....i would only play this formation against teams that you are generally not gonna have much possession against .....sit in and shut off space down the outside and limit them to possession in front of you .....counter attacking meaning less actual lung busters for the fulll backs ...only against top nations and maybe the odd occasion when we are hollding a goal advantage with 15 to go ....... Also think we have to look at a optional second style of play ...we absolutely had no ideas against georgia away ....i thought maybe playing a bit more direct and taking pressure off players to try to find a pass through a defence they couldnt wouldve maybe been a good change .. However just a fan opinion obviously and gordon strachan will have his own ideas...(hopefully) ...i would just like to see a bit variation ....one that could help us be tighter in defence when needed .....and one that would help us get a goal when the nice passing game we've developed isnt working....

    5-3-2 ?

I thnk there does need to be a variation of formation and tactics ...... Rangers made the UEFA cup final setting up to restrict better teams Chelsea won the Champions league doing the same Tony Pulis makes a career out of it I'm not saying we should be doing this against teams of comparitive ability but there are games in which 5 man defenses would provide us a better base ....or in other cases a good change during a game to see it out...bring on another centre half to close out games your winning limit spaces in centre of defence and down the wide areas... Also being able to play more direct at times would be of benefit ....we were getting no where against georgia playing our usual way ...was demoralising for me never mind the players ....going two up playing direct into chris martin or steven fletcher would have maybe taken the pressure off the players to at having to find an opening that wasnt really there ..... Gutted isnt even accurate at how i feel RE this campaign ......think Strachan is doing well however i would like to hear him acknowledge some of the mistakes that were made and not just brand it as unlucky (albeit there is a fair amount of things went for other teams and against us)
  3. Anya is out of both fixtures now....has returned to watford for treatment.
  4. Your most probably right ... however hes playing first team football, scoring goals, making assists and has just won the young player of the month in the championship ....so if he can get himself in and around the squad maybe could push for a spot form the bench .... We could be without Maloney and morrison and maybe steven fletcher so there could be room for some changes in the forward area ..... I dont think wholesale changes is the way to go for the game ...but would be nice to see a few different/form options being used in the squad or from the bench if needed
  5. Ryan Fraser seems to be playing well.....and is highly thought of ...if theres a space in the squad for him i wouldnt mind Strachan getting a closer look

    3Rd Place

LOL they dont half like making things ambiguous Dont suppose it really matter either way ..but would like a sat home fixture though if we get 3rd place .. i think personally they will go with either seeded or unseeded all home first .....whatver they see as being an advantage going to the unseeded team ...that will give them argument against the bias of actual seedings for knockout fixtures .... "Roll out the line of we might have seeded the draw but you got home leg first" hopefully we get the results we need to even be bothering about seedings / home or away legs

    3Rd Place

am i being dense here? Probably but this is taken from Uefa "The eight remaining third-placed teams will contest play-offs over two legs to determine the last four qualifiers for the finals in France. Those eight teams will be divided into two groups of seeded and non-seeded teams, based on the UEFA national team coefficient rankings. Each fixture will see a seeded team play against a non-seeded team, with the first team drawn to play the first leg at home." If they are seperated due to seeding and the first team drawn will always play at home ...wont they know if its unseeded or seeded thats playing at home every time as they will have to pick from seperate pots ...

Seeded teams play away first.... If we are unseeded ..and we make it ...first leg will be at home....

  10. Pretty sure when they've been asked the question re why the play for Ireland it would be the simplest answer to give if that's how they actually felt, no?
  11. http://www.theawayend.net/articles/football/the-away-end-archive/875-scotland-missing-mcgeady-and-mccarthy For me far too early in a career to jump ship on there actual country ...notice at no point have they ever said they felt Irish..... each to there own and all that but personally i think they made there decision to early ..SFA take some blame as well.
  12. Would've preferred johnny Russell or Tom Cairney as an uncapped young player http://www.whoscored.com/Players/79583/Show/Tom-Cairney
