  1. What impact do you think the Greens are having? As far as I can see all the things - the major ones certainly - covered by the Bute House agreement have been SNP policies for some time. They’re maybe people either currently or previously in the party who don’t agree with them but they’ve lost the argument. It’s easier to blame the green bogeyman. Maybe I have a different view because while I don’t agree with everything, there’s enough in there prospectus that means I can vote for them and do because they’re the closest - available - choice to my political beliefs.
  2. Former MP Corri Wilson’s son-in-law, who is also in Alba. I doubt Ash Regan had anything to do with his decision.
  3. No it’s not. You need to watch the whole movie interview and then think about which hypothetical set of circumstances that would have to come about to make it happen. The SNP have always had the point of view of “put independence to one side and work with us”. You clearly have a problem with the Greens and blame them the SNP polling going down. Where is that vote going? Some is going to Labour - soft Indy types - some is going to the Greens - typically younger people - some is going to don’t know. Very little is going to Alba. How does casting off the greens help the SNP.
  4. Oh, in the big thread that got deleted and your witness is the guy who got banned and had the thread deleted for calling me a paedophile, that’s all very convenient, isn’t it. It didn’t happen. It’s just your usual fantasy land bollocks.
  5. Yes, my point is that a lot of people look at the Tory Cabinet - and they push this themselves - they’ve a brown PM and a brown Home Secretary they can’t be racist, without an underlying understanding of the nuances.
  6. Oh look, it was actually *me* who was being caled a cocksucker.
  7. I’ve got a wide vocabulary of offensive language but that’s not a phrase I use, so I think you’re talking shite.
  8. Maybe you should consider that other people have different views from you on how the best way to achieve independence is, what policies they believe in and what they don’t, think that politicians need to take a stand for things that are right, have different ideas on who is an ally and who is a charlatan. I don’t claim to be 100% right but I know for one thing, I don’t lie, I don’t spread rumours and falsehoods and I don’t actively work to undermine the efforts of the party. Then again, you in your wisdom seem to think that your “saving the party” when you do that.
  9. So what is your problem then? The Greens got 200,000 votes, that’s why they have relevance.
  10. Ash Regan comparing herself to Margo McDonald, FFS.
  11. The biggest Islamophobe that I know is an Anglo-Indian Hindi born in London to Indian immigrant parents.
  12. The Greens got 8% of the vote. They should’ve gotten 10 seats, they got 8. You think d’Hondt is a problem because it gives those you don’t like seats, the alternative is the 85% of the seats that one party got under FPTP off of 47% of the vote. That party was the SNP but anyone who thinks that would be a healthy outcome is kidding themselves.
  13. You’re not going to put forwards an argument for WM style FPTP are you?
  14. I was trying to find an interview yesterday with her from a few years back where *she* essentially confirmed that. Apparently she was at a dinner party in 2012 and she was at a dinner party when the subject came up and all the others were of the opinion she’d be on the No side and they were all shocked - including the ex-husband - when she said she was more on the Yes side. I’m not saying she’s not an independence supporter but she’s always struck me as someone who saw an opportunity to advance herself. She put herself forwards as a candidate for WM in 2015. In common with someone who she shares a party with again, Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh. Its pretty obvious who was pushing Tasmina’s career, I wonder if it was the same one with Ash?
  15. They are both shared policy objectives. Of course, the SG policy on O&G is essentially no *new* O&G. It doesn’t mean closing down existing fields, it means not opening up new fields. The only argument for opening up new fields is economic, it’s not about fuel security, it’s not about reducing prices, it’s not about reducing the carbon footprint. All that oil and gas is going on the international market and the vast majority will be exported. On GRR, it was once the policy of every single party, up until the Tories in England weaponised it as a culture war and Labour shat their pants at taking a stand for fear of upsetting gammons.
  16. Why would that be a bad thing if the public of Shetland wanted it?
  17. I haven’t deflected at all, your views on the Greens are entirely predicated on your vested interests in O&G. You asked why I can’t see that, it’s because I’m not vested in O&G. I’m also not a homophobic or transphobic bigot like a lot of people who criticise the Greens are. I also don’t make up stories either.
  18. You’re hardly impartial, you’ve a massive vested interest in O&G.
  19. Well in fairness, you should watch the full interview and get the complete context. Read past the headline. It was on the Sunday Show, it’ll be on iPlayer. Also, let’s be honest here, the only party who has an idealogical stance towards independence, that means they exclude working with any other party that doesn’t hold the same view as they do either in coalition or on setting a budget is the Labour Party who have consistently refused to do so since 2007. Even the Tories were prepared to work with Alex Salmond between 2007 and 2011. That’s not a criticism of either side, it’s actually grown up politics.
  20. No they’re not. Lorna Slater was asked would the Greens be prepared to work with a future Labour Government. Her response was that they’d speak to anyone they have common ground with but it’s difficult to see what common ground the Greens have with Labour as she doesn’t know what Labour stands for.
  21. She’s so hopeless she can’t even time a defection properly
