"Bonnie Scotland we'll support you ever more" element of fans has to go
aaid replied to clarky1606's topic in TA specific
Jim Todd from Kilmarnock -
Mate A didn't have a ticket and was at the pickup looking for one, Mate B had to pickup his ticket but wasn't there to do so. Or at least that's how I read it. All in all, it sounds a bit too convenient for my liking.

general consensus from who exactly?

Sounds like Argentina to me. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/scotland-1-v-iran-1-angry-scottish-fans-shouting-from-the-terraces-picture-id592345982?s=594x594 There's at least one guy in that picture still going strong to this day. -
Of course, you've never been known to make things up just to stir it up have you? Here's a question, if your mate is an SSC member then how come he didn't have a ticket in the first place given that it went down to zero points. A bit coincidental that your other mate couldn't make it at the last minute and had to pick up meaning that there just happened to be a spare ticket to support your story. Personally, I smell shite here.

I'll give you that one

Good god no. -
It's probably just me being stupid but where have you done that? What exactly do you think is "in it" for people who are involved in ATAC for them to be self-serving?
-
I get the impression they will look to throw the book at both associations. England as the host association will no doubt get the biggest punishment. It's hardly surprising given they knew beforehand what FIFA's view was and they chose to ignore that.

Okay then, lets look at this post. You start off by saying you've been going for 15 years, what other reason is there to state that than to assert that you think you are better than other fans. You then follow on saying that you avoid other Scotland fans because they are roasters who don't know anything about football. The implication being you think you're better than other fans. Basically you are saying that you and your mates are "proper" football fans and that anyone who doesn't fit you're view of what a "proper" football fan is, somehow less than you. You constantly sneer at people who wear kilts and make a big deal about somehow wearing jeans makes you more of a real fan, I really don't get that. Wearing a kilt doesn't make you a "big fan" - whatever that is - and neither does wearing jeans and sambas. Are there people who are only there for the party? Absolutely and I've no time for them either, however they are as much likely to be wearing a pair of jeans and a Scotland top as a kilt and a Glengarry. They are also as much likely to go to club football as not. I've met many, many people who go to club football who are completely clueless about the game. The clincher though is your line about "self titled elite". I've never ever met anyone who has described themselves as that, except as a joke, and that's usually aimed at people - like you - who seem to believe that people think like that. Personally speaking, I haven't worn a kilt for years for no other reason than it's too much of a hassle, I go to club football regularly, I have season tickets for two clubs. I was the first one back on our bus after the game in Faro primarily as I was full of the flu but also as I'm never one to hang around in stadiums after a match, win lose or draw, I don't see the point. If you catch me on TV sitting on the steps looking glum after a defeat you have my permission to shoot me. When I got back from Bratislava I went straight back to the hotel as I was so pissed off. I'm no happy clapper. I could give you plenty of other examples but your constant sneering at other Scotland fans can only lead me to imply that you think you're better than they are. -
Are you going to address why I am - was is probably more accurate - a self serving shitebag?

If you want to get a glimpse of how BBC bias manifests itself you just need to look at how the panellists were introduced last night. Cat Boyd was introduced as the co-founder of RIC, Merryn Somerset Webb was introduced as editor-in-chief of Moneyweek. Both these statements are true but give sets the viewer's perception that Cat Boyd is biased towards Indy whereas Merryn Somerset Webb is totally impartial. They could have easily introduced CB as "columnist for The National" which would also be true. In a similar way they could have introduced MSW as a member of the advisory board of Scotland in Union, which is similarly true but gives a completely different view to her impartiality. -

Was that the one that also had Tom Devine, Michelle Mone and a brilliantly bonkers Vivienne Westwood on it? -
I'm haven't been involved in ATAC for a few years but was for a long time and was one of the people responsible for founding it. in which way am I a self serving shitebag? I'm all ears.

So you missed the bit about the SFA being run by Marketing men then.

Quite a claim from someone who consistently implies that he's a better football fan than others.
