  1. Totally disagree with this. First of all, WGS has shown pretty clearly with his squad selections that SPL players (not including Celtic) are not on his radar. Best case for any SPL player is a run out in a friendly. Secondly, the teams you mention would be mid-table at best
  2. Can anyone remember what our line up was that night? Douglas, McNamara, Pressley, Wilkie, Naysmith, Fletcher, Ferguson, Rae, McCann, Dickov, McFadden. I have this weird idea that it was Dickov McFadden McCann Rae Fletcher Ferguson Naysmith Wilkie Pressley McNamara Douglas That can't be right is it???
  3. Today is actually the first time I've watched the goals again.
  4. I went back and had a look at the goals Wilkie and even Pressely don't actually do much wrong. First goal: has anyone ever been skinned as badly as McCann by sniejder? What is he even doing in the middle of the park? Wilkie probably could do a bit more, but not at fault. Rab Douglas all over the place with the 2nd. VanNistelrooy is completely unmarked for the 3rd. Meanwhile Wilkie is marking space. Wilkie is so far away, that it looks like Bertie has told him to mark space and not a man. Wilkie gets done by VanNistelrooy for the 4th Gavin Rae not close enough to his man for the 5th (McCann could probably have done more though) Not sure if it's Maurice Ross or Jackie McNamara at left-back that completely exposes the defense for the 6th. But it was Barry Ferguson who probably should have been marking VanNistelrooy.
  5. Their season doesn't even start till March. Seems like a risky move to me. TBH I hope he only stays for one season there.
  6. https://www.overplay.net + http://watch.nowtv.com/sports would work out cheaper ($5 per month + £10.99 per week)
  7. Sometimes I think McGhee just name-checks all possible eligibles. Because a lot of the time his comments don't make sense. I wrote more or less the same thing about Grimmer at the top of the thread - playing a handful of games for a mid-table Championship side shouldn't be enough to get you a call-up. According to whoscored Grimmer has played 805 minutes of Championship football this season. Palmer has played 2340 minutes.
  8. relevant: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30835014
  9. What are the rules regarding development fees?
  10. Maybe that's where we disagree then. I imagine Scotland picking players who're the best in their own position. And 'flexible' players who are no better than decent, but can play 2 or 3 positions, don't get a look in. btw I agree his better performances seem to have been on the left.
  11. Is he left sided though? As far as I can tell, he's a utility player who plays wherever he's needed.
  12. I've got nothing against Arfield - he's clearly got a good attitude and work rate, but he's a jack of all trades in a team that is almost certainly going to be relegated.
  13. Scored a good goal in the derby right enough (at 1:35), although both goals from GMS were better
  14. Grimmer had had about 3 decent games for a mid-table championship side. Seems a bit early for a call up to me. Why anyone thinks we should call up Arfield is a mystery to me. I would much rather see Armstrong or jack in the squad.
  15. The only problem I see re playing for Scotland is fitting him into the team. I reckon the closest player we've got at the moment to Gauld is Maloney, and it took Maloney and long time to establish himself. I guess because he's not a winger, not a forward, and not a "box-to-box" midfielder. Still, it's great news that he's made his league debut. Here's hoping everything goes well and he turns into the next iniesta!
  16. I rate forrest because of the amount of assists and goals he gets, although, every time I've watched him play (not often) he's done nothing. But gms is a better player. Even if everything else was equal gms would be better simply because he spends less time on the treatment table and more time on the pitch.
  17. Sorry to bring this up again, but Cameron Burgess just signed for Ross County till the end of the season. I can't figure out where the f*** he's coming from I'm struggling to get my head round it tbh. It sounds like he comes from a big Scotland supporting family, grew up supporting Scotland himself, and yet he spends a couple of years in Australia, and now he considers himself Australian?
  18. Here's some of the headlines over there: A Ryan "Gold" SCOTTISH MIDDLE WAS THE GENESIS OF THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES Gauld is small only in size FILLED THE FIELD WHEN EVEN THE SPORTING were reduced to ten Chef Gauld served sushi LIONS gained weight taking WINNING SERIES TO SEVEN, AND ARE SIX GAMES THAT DO NOT SUFFER GOALS
  19. Maloney to Leicester for 1million apparently
  20. Don't think so. Armstrong has already had his "up and coming" call up, back in 2013 against Norway. Armstrong's problem is that he's competing with EPL players (maybe Dorrans and Bannan) for a squad place. Actually Jack has the same problem, with, I guess, Morrison and McArthur in front of him.
  21. I wish I did. I just think it's amazing, although actually it's opta that does the work, whoscored is just a website that buys opta data and displays it.
  22. Just noticed that Mark McNulty has 8 goals from 9 starts for Sheffield United after moving from Livingston in the summer. Scored 17 goals for Livingston last year. Still only 22, maybe some potential there.
  23. bbc gossip column today
  24. A couple of interesting points from Sheffield Utd's win over Southampton Jay Mceveley is now a centre-half and apparently had a really good game Ryan Flynn is seemingly now a right-back and apparently also had a really good game Bob Harris and Jamie Murphy apparently also played well.
  25. Did anyone watch the Derby game? whoscored.com has Jonny Russell and Craig Bryson as two of the best players on the park
