  1. No reason why he can't force his way in, especially with Snodgrass out.
  2. Marshall was excellent in the last game and is the clear number 1.
  3. The 98 squad was weak with very little creative spark. We're in a much better place now. I seem to remember some grumbles in 86 about Dalglish's withdrawal with injury being more to do with Hansen not being in the squad. I think we'd have got through the group with Dalglish as he was still some player.
  4. . I read on some forum he's Chris Burke's cousin. Hopefully that's true and he has Scotland leanings.
  5. and yet he went to various qualifiers as a boy goes away for 5 years and doesn't want to know. Bit of an oddball.
  6. Burgess was brought up in Australia, only natural he would want to represent them and almost guaranteed the chance to play in a World Cup. From age 11, he's only 18.
  7. Burgess left Aberdeen aged 11, so has spent more team here than there.
  8. We might lose Tony Watt if we're not careful. I believe Burgess is going to turn out ti be a good player. He grew up in Aberdeen till he was 11. He probably just wants to visit his mum and dad after his home games.
  9. A string of good results might be enough to whip up some enthusiasm - and giving Australia and Ireland a right good hiding ought to be top of our agenda.
  10. Hanley has done very well. He'll keep getting better. I'm surprise more people aren't upset at Cameron Burgess choosing Australia because we're a bit thin on the ground in this position. I do think Danny Wilson will get a fair few caps by the end of his career.
  11. http://m.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/australia-wins-battle-with-scotland-for-promising-football-star-cameron-burgess/story-fnii0fc4-1227050386264 We have indeed lost Burgess, a 6ft 4 central defender.
  12. I refer you to my initial post.
  13. Not if he's better than them.
  14. Two players likely to make the step up in the next campaign if not sooner.
  15. McGregor is prone to more howlers and flaps a bit at crosses. Both the same when it comes to great saves so Marshall gets the nod.
  16. I don't think enough was made of our own injuries. We lost 3 nailed on starters - a country of 82 million can cope more easily with such losses than us.
  17. Says a lot about the stupidity of the player. The ref was honking though. They had a man down for ages and no time added on. Who's to say big Hanley wouldn't have slammed a header in from the corner we should have been allowed to take?
  18. Georgia away gives me nightmares. You're Glaswegian forward did you a turn there.
  19. Bannan was good and could replace Snodgrass in that team while he's out. A fully fit Forrest would be a great option for us on the right with Anya on the left, who along with Hutton and Robertson would give us unbelievable pace down the flanks. If you have clever players like Naismith, and Fletcher centrally then you're in business.
  20. Muller is a cheat, and showed it often enough at the World Cup. I'm surprised Maloney kept his head (no pun intended). Muller would have been rolling around for half an hour greetin' if someone did it to him.
  21. I don't think anyone is in a position to say if he's likely to be a regular 5 years from now.
  22. McArthur v Bryson is hardly like for like.
