  1. Naw, hind legs but just tiny wee short ones! (Bizarre moment #1 - typing this when the Pistorius story is on the radio and the judge reminds the court of him having no legs)
  2. What effect do you think the Ed Mili Band will have today when the 100 are parachuted in? Will they jump start 'the labour machine' and how will they be received in Glasgow? Is it true that Barr's have supplied them with 200 more Irn Bru crates? (204 if Hazel Blears is there)
  3. Ah you're milking that one now. She also asked Blair Jenkins "and what about Scottish sport? How would an independent Scotland fund that?" What an ignorant, naive question from a supposed senior correspondent - vacuous indeed. Easy pickings for an operator as practiced as BJ, although he did look at her as if he couldn't believe she'd asked him such a naive question
  4. Will need to revisit this but for now, thanks for the light relief! Under a Blood Red Sky Live Rust Let it Bleed Outlandos d'Amour Every Picture Tells A Story Transformer Genesis Live Hotel California The Captain and Me ...and so many more but Eddard - Sandy Denny WKWTTG - brilliant!
  5. Thanks for the clips: Baillie clearly misquotes; Carney clearly say "...incompatible with sovereignty". However everything MC has said is predicated on the "no CU" stance. He has said that he/BoE will be able to work with whatever the outcome of the TWO parties' negotiation. As of now, there is no agreement and ONE party has set pre-negotiated conditions. The meaningful negotiations won't start until AFTER the vote and YES has prevailed
  6. .....and now a report from BBC China concluding that "there is certainly no clamour here for Scottish Independence". This from within China, which the report acknowledges, regards talk of independence as a treasonable offence. This after an orchestrated, co-ordinated media campaign day totally dominated by NO, and then.... ....Survation - preannounced over 4 hours early to continue the domination by 3 Stooges (who cannot even be seen together in the same picture - Better Together? Aye feckin right Then a long interview with CEO of Kingfisher Then a voiceless comment from BP's Bob Dudley which can be used in every BBC soundbite Then, and I can't type quick enough to keep up with this, Paul Krugman - now being interviewed on C4 - "a disaster for Scotland" this from a right wing American resident of NYC etc etc etc I can't believe I'm seeing coverage like this
  7. All great reasons - reassuring too. Can we add to that list YES's increased share of the women's vote. I think the undecided women, even more than the men, will see right through i) the Flash Gordon "one day to save the world" shecht and ii) the duplicitous bribe of the twelfth hour "promise" of unspecified powers #wontgetfooledagain [Who's Next - Timeless Album - wrong thread]
  8. Carney's re-phrasing of his reservations suggests to me that he's been leant on but that he is strong and independently-minded enough to resist. The change in terminology might indicate that he has made a minor concession but that's as far as he'll go. His lack of establishment "pedigree" could be helpful going forward - Sir Humphrey would be turning in his grave. It'd be great if anyone could find a link, or a direct quotation, from Carney on this
  9. Yes I agree. However, juggling the numbers after a slow news/no news day, I just wonder IF this late bribe, offered AFTER a significant number of votes were cast, could genuinely impact the final result Hypothetically - if 80,000 had voted by Sunday and half of them voted NO - if half of those (20,000) WOULD have voted for devo-max IF that option been available - if turnout was 80%, those 20,000 postal votes would reoresent 0.6% of t/out or a 0.3% swing - if the final result was 49.7%/50.3%, this late bribe would have made the difference .......and that would be that?
  10. Does anyone know: - how many have registered for postal votes - have many postal votes had already been cast before Sunday's announcement of the "new powers"
  11. To all/any undecideds, this might help Vote Yes and you'll never see them again Mind you, Vote No and you'll never see them again http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-29126386
  12. "confirmed by BoE" and "confirmed by the Treasury" have come to mean very different things. I'd be inclined to believe one of these sources, while treating with the deepest suspicion anything reportedly said by the other
