  1. Nadal wins in Stuttgart - his first grass court title in five years - definitely hope Murray can avoid him in the last 16 (or even the QF) at Wimbledon. Also a really strong field at Queen's this week - a benefit of the calendar alterations and the upgrade to 500 status.
  2. Well done Stan! At least 12 months for the career slam for Novak. It appears three straight days on court emptied the tank.
  3. Didn't see this coming. Stan serving for the title.
  4. Intriguing final this so far. Djokovic out of sorts for large parts and Stan serving to an unbelievable standard. Just feel that Djokovic is now finding that extra gear - when it matters.
  5. A top match from two great players... And to think, it's not that long ago since some commentators reckoned Andy lacked bottle! The break may favour Djokovic, but I think Andy will have the better sleep - after watching the fitba of course!
  6. it appears Rafa isn't going down the rankings without a fight. He's scheduled to play Stuttgart this coming week and then Queen's before Wimbledon. Looking at the tour schedule, the changes have definitely improved the grass court season and given it more balance - a week longer and Queen's and Halle upgraded to 500 events.
  7. I agree. Djokovic is head and shoulders above the rest. The era of the 'big four' was preceded by a few years of Federer dominance, it has now been succeeded by a period of Djokovic dominance. Andy probably is number 2 in reality - particularly in the slams - and he can become number 2 officially in the next month or so as Federer is defending 1450 points during the grass court season. Federer will also soon be 34 - surely even he can't keep performing at such a high level at that age! As for Nadal, he will now drop out of the top 8 and although he has been prematurely written off in the past, he may struggle to reach another slam final... still would prefer Andy to avoid him in the last 16 at Wimbledon though!
  8. No complaints here. I thought it was a very comfortable win against a top eight player on a surface he'd never beaten him on. Andy was aggressive for the most part and adjusted his game when required. To win the fourth set like that after the sickener of the third shows loads of mental strength. All players (unless your name is Novak) suffer dips during a five set match - it's how you recover from those dips that matter. Ferrer also played some good stuff at times, so really encouraged by that performance
  9. By 'roof beams' do you mean the horizontal ties connecting the two rafters? If so, you'll need to involve a structural engineer.
  10. Djokovic wins a 67 minute first set 7-5. Murray a break up (again) in the first.
  11. Exactly. Would hate to see him get a hammering, especially on that court.
  12. Djokovic with the early break - ominous.
  13. The more I think of it, very poor scheduling at RG. Everyone with half an interest in Tennis will want to see Nadal v Djokovic, yet it's scheduled to start around the same time as Murray v Ferrer?! Surely they could have been back-to-back on the same court or at least staggered, so that one of the matches was first up on its respective court!!
  14. All in all a good day's tennis. Don't think Federer played badly - it was an almost faultless performance by Wawrinka and he has a chance to win the tournament if he continues like that. I've always had a lot of time for Tsonga, so good to see him back in a major semi - and any tournament maintains a buzz while a home player is still in the draw. Hoping for a wee rain delay early tomorrow, otherwise I nay not see much of Murray's match...
  15. Tsonga through to the semi - didn't expect that after the way the match went. Great performance after a difficult 12 months or so.
  16. A couple of mini-shocks on the cards in today's QF's. Federer two sets down against Wawrinka and Nishikori two sets down to Tsonga.
  17. It's pretty much going to plan for Murray and his game is coming together at the right time. Good to see him serving well today as his poor first serve in the previous round would have cost him against a higher ranked opponent. Of course the next match will be tougher (it is, afterall, a Grand Slam QF against a top eight opponent), but Murray has nothing to fear. If Ferrer is on the downslope, it is very gradual and he still has plenty to offer, but with the clay form Andy has already shown this season I can only see one winner. Also worth mentioning that is now Murray's 17th consecutive Grand Slam QF - of the tournaments he has entered - a great achievement, particularly given the problems he had last year!
  18. Murray first up today, so about to arrive on court. His first real test at RG - looking forward to this one! Kyrgios is a tremendous prospect, but at the moment Murray should be too strong...hopefully!
  19. I'd guess about 2.00pm, but impossible to be sure. All depends how long the first two matches on centre court last.
  20. Waterschei Rangers Clydebank Inverness Th. Gretna CIS Airdrie
  21. All on schedule in Paris, so Murray should be on court between 4.30pm & 5.00pm. ITV4 showing the match.
