  1. I heard Edinburgh Zoo has put two slices of sourdough in a cage. It is bread in captivity.
  2. Far-Right Dictators. Hitler and Mussolini Were Right Wing.- I am centre-left. I am against the far-right. I support democracy, and the best of capitalism and socialism. I would like to point out Hitler and Mussolini admitted themselves they were right wing. This is a taken from a speech by Adolf Hitler, April 12, 1921 There are only two possibilities in Germany; do not imagine that the people will forever go with the middle party, the party of compromises; one day it will turn to those who have most consistently foretold the coming ruin and have sought to dissociate themselves from it. And that party is either the Left: and then God help us! for it will lead us to complete destruction - to Bolshevism, or else it is a party of the Right which at the last, when the people is in utter despair, when it has lost all its spirit and has no longer any faith in anything, is determined for its part ruthlessly to seize the reins of power - that is the beginning of resistance of which I spoke a few minutes ago. Here, too, there can be no compromise - there are only two possibilities: either victory of the Aryan or annihilation of the Aryan and the victory of the Jew.' So that shows that Hitler saw himself and his ideology as right wing. Mussolini wrote in The Doctrine of Fascism, ‘doctrines pass; nations remain. We are free to believe that this is the century of authority, a century tending to the right, a Fascist century’.. So that shows that Mussolini saw himself as right wing. In my life I have seen that the far-right often see the working class as criminals and parasites.- Merci. Joey Vimsante.
  3. Dichotomy: Freedom v Equality. I think that politics is defined by the left seeing politics as the working class, poor, and the exploited versus the rich and oppressors. While the modern right want to define politics as freedom v authoritarians. I am centre left. I support the best of socialism, capitalism, peace, equality, freedom, and the working class, poor and middle class. I support education and luxury for all. I think that it is wrong to define politics as freedom versus authoritarians. Because there is a massive difference between restrictions on freedom from a left wing motivation and a right wing motivation. For instance banning homosexuality, banning the right to protest, banning the right to criticise government, and banning the right to organise trade unions is totally different to the left wing who want to tax and regulate the economy or ban hate speech. They are totally different motivations and policies. To define all government power and action as the same is wrong. Government regulation on the economy is not the same as government regulations on private life actions. I know one right winger who tried to convince a gay person to vote Republican on the basis that the right supported personal freedom on taxes and regulations. His argument was that supporting personal freedom on taxes meant you supported freedom on sexuality. But that is nonsense. The right were at that time less keen on sexual freedom. So defining politics as freedom versus authoritarianism means you vote for a party that supported economic freedom and therefore no benefits, and no redistribution towards the poor. While at the same time supporting extreme authoritarianism on private lives. Yet this is complicated as the left often believe in introducing hate speech laws that some see as a restriction on freedom, but from a left v right perspective would be seen as a way of helping the poor and oppressed. Looking at politics from a left wing perspective means trying to tax and regulate to bring in economic redistribution, stop discrimination, stop hate speech. While at the same time allowing freedom in private life. While the right wing intellectual thinkers want to define politics on the basis that politics is about freedom v authoritarianism. Even if the right are supporting restrictions on protest, sexuality, voting rights, trade unions, worker’s rights. Some on the right want to define the difference between left and right as being about the left being authoritarian and the right being about freedom. So that good left wing things government can do like bringing in worker’s rights, protection of democratic rights, banning hate speech, taxing and regulating the economy to help the poor and the environment. So that that is conflated as being on the same as bad government authoritarian measures like supressing democracy, banning trade unions, banning freedom of speech, banning the right to criticise the government, banning personal freedoms in private life, banning freedom of movement. I think there is a place for both left and right wing perspectives in a free society. But I see myself as centre left, and a supporter of democracy and peace. I see politics as right v left. I see the left as caring for the poor, working class, the ordinary, the oppressed, and disabled. While the right care about the rich and powerful, elites. Some intellectuals on the right want to define the straw man argument, to define it as left supporting authoritarianism versus right supporting freedom. I find this as dishonest as often it means supporting a party that support extreme capitalism with extreme authoritarianism. But I also accept there have been many authoritarian left wing and authoritarian right wing governments. Some on the far right see the working class, as criminals and parasites. I am centre left, I support the centre left, human rights, the working class, the middle class, education, peace, freedom, and the best of socialism and capitalism. > Joey Vimsante.
  4. Korea is too far. But South African club sides play in the URC with Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and Italian sides. So if South African rugby sides can play European sides why can't Celtic soccer sides play in the MLS? Remember NFL sides play games in Germany and the UK each season. And there was was a Canadian side playing In the rugby league system In Europe. Remember to do research on this subject first. I did not say Brechin should play in MLS. I was talking about big Scottish sides playing a handful of games against Eastern MLS sides to qualify for the play offs. If South African rugby union sides can play European sides then why can't Dundee United play in New York?
  5. Maybe a Scottish Junior side, or Lowland League, or Scottish Highland League side could play in the Fenix Cup?
  6. In cricket the West Indies have one team for loads of different Nations. Also we have the British and Irish Lions at Rugby union. Scotland has a good cricket and rugby team. But I would love all the Celtic nations of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Brittany, and Cornwall To play as a united team in cricket in a test versus somebody. Perhaps as a one off match against New Zealand, or Australia. And how about at Rugby league or Rugby union, the Celtic nations form a team to play another nation perhaps in a one off match or test series. This could be done in men's or female sports.
  7. I do not want Scottish clubs to join the English league, as people would think Scotland was part of England. I do not want the Old Firm to join the English leagues as people would go back to thinking Scotland is in England. I also do not want a UK league merger. As people would decide the historic Scottish trophies were the status of non-league trophies, while all the English trophies were forerunners of the UK trophies. And we might go decades with no Scottish teams in Europe, or winning a trophy. I want the best of both worlds where we have 3 strong leagues in Great Britain, but also have cross border cups with English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish Republic, Northern Irish, French, Belgian, Danish, Dutch, and MLS club sides, on top of European and domestic football. Like the way Scotland allows Northern Irish and Welsh sides in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Thanks for reading.
  8. Scottish, Welsh, and Irish Sides Join Major League Soccer. How about Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Motherwell, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, St Mirren, Hibernian, Dundee, Dundee United join the North American Major League Soccer? Football is growing in the USA and Canada, so Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United, and Dundee could bring history and support to the MLS. The MLS could be the biggest league in the World, so the 8 biggest Scottish sides could benefit from playing in the North American soccer leagues. While also adding lore, history, and passion to the Major League Soccer brand. Also perhaps clubs from Wales, like Wrexham, Newport County, Cardiff City, and Swansea City could join the Major League Soccer. Perhaps Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland could enter clubs from Dublin and Belfast in Major League Soccer? Maybe even Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man could enter sides in a Celtic conference? Perhaps the Celtic nations could form a Celtic Nations League conference of the MLS? With extra games played against MLS sides from largely Eastern North America. The leading teams would then qualify for the MLS playoffs. Even Glasgow Celtic and Glasgiw Rangers on their own could bring benefits to the MLS system. In terms of commercial support, fans and lore. It might be that one day all the major European leagues enter sides in the MLS system. Perhaps clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, PSG, Sporting Lisbon, B Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Anderlecht. Copenhagen, IFK, Porto, and Ajax could end up joining MLS? Another view I have. British – Irish – North American Competitive Soccer Club Trophy. How about cross border trophies between the leading Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish, Republic of Ireland, England, USA, Mexican, and Canadian soccer club sides, separately at male and female soccer? The football scene in the USA and Canada is growing. And there is a strong historical connection between Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Canada, the USA, and England. Scotland have some top sides in men’s and women’s football like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers, Glasgow City, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian, and Hibernian. So maybe Scottish sides could play American women's or men's club sides in a competitive trophy. Ireland has a strong cultural connection to the USA and Canada. And Wales has some strong teams also. Maybe the Welsh sides in the English leagues could take part also. Plus England has one of the strongest leagues in the World. There are many, many, cross border trophies that could happen at male and female football between the teams from the British and Irish Isles and North America. The Scottish would bring fans, passion and massive passionate support. While would be able to grow commercially in a big market. The Scottish leading sides like Celtic and Rangers would see the USA as a dream come true. The leading MLS and NWSL sides would benefit from playing big teams from the British and Irish Isles. There could be various trophies such as 1) A Scottish – USA Women’s Cup. The winner of the Scottish Women’s Premier and NWSL play a match to claim the dual title of Scotland and the USA. 2) A Scottish – MLS American Cup. With the winners of the Scottish Premiership and MLS in a one off or two leg tie. This could be even bigger with 4 Scottish Premier sides playing all or 4 of the MLS sides in North America in a Scottish MLS Cup. 3) An Anglo – American Cup. A men’s version could be the champions of the EPL v the champions of the MLS. Or at women’s level, the champions of the NWSL versus the champions of the English Super League. It could even have in the men’s game teams from the lower divisions. 4) A British – Irish – North American Men’s Cup. Played between the champions of Scotland, Wales, the League of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Mexico, the MLS. Or it could be even more teams from Scotland (maybe all top tier sides), and the MLS. As Scotland and the MLS could afford that. 5) A British – Irish – North American Women’s Cup. Played between the champions of Scotland, Wales, the League of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Mexico, the NWSL. Or it could be even more teams from Scotland (maybe up to 4 top tier sides) and the NWSL. As Scotland, Mexico, and the NWSL could afford that. 6) A Scottish – USA – Canada – Mexico Cup – Played between the leading sides of Canada, Scotland, Mexico, and the USA. 7) A Celtic – American Men’s Cup. Played between multiple Scottish and MLS sides (including the champions), plus the champions of Wales, Northern Ireland, and the League of Ireland. This could be played in the USA or Canada. As the Celtic nations have strong links to the USA and Canada. 8) A Celtic – American Women’s Cup. Played between multiple Scottish Premier and NWSL sides (including the champions),plus the champions of Wales, Northern Ireland, and the League of Ireland. This could be played in the USA or Canada. As the Celtic nations have strong links to the USA and Canada. 9) The Irish - Scottish - USA Male Cup. Played between the leading top tier sides of Scotland, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and all MLS sides. 10) The Irish - Scottish - USA Women’s Cup. Played between the champions of Ireland, Scotland and the NWSL. Merci. Joey Vimsante.
  9. Scottish Sides In Fenix Cup. The Fenix Cup is a UEFA recognised trophy for semi pro and amateur clubs. I think Scottish teams should enter the Fenix Cup. Welsh sides are already in the trophy. There are loads of top quality semi pro clubs in Scotland who could play in the trophy. Clubs like Arbroath, or Brora Rangers would be great in the trophy. Scotland should enter the trophy.
