  1. 2007 when he had the potential of a Fletcher, Brown and Ferguson midfield, Hutton as right wing back and a certain McFadden. But no, we ruined it by thinking that Weir and McManus could fire us to Euro 2008. Get what exactly? Perpetual garbage and repetition in failure? Oh, I get it. You've overplayed your hand with that one. Messi could excel in any outfield position.
  2. I noticed that, too. Watch the full 90 minutes of the United match today and imagine that in midfield. His energy would radiate throughout the entire team. How would you know?
  3. I said 18 years of matches. Based on 2 matches against Israel and Albania? The cold hard facts are that since we switched to a 4 under Berti we have qualified for nothing. We couldn't play with a 4 under Craig Brown's players and we still can't.
  4. You're mentioning one match? You want me to trawl through the past 18 years and cite 50+ matches?
  5. It would appear that way. Ack well, at least McLeish gave it a chance, yep, a whole 18 minutes (competitively). So it's completely understandable that we go back to 4 at the back, as we've done so well with it for the past 18 years... If McLeish wants to know how to make the 3-5-2 work then he should either give Gary Holt a call or just watch his team play. Livingston play in a simple way, the three at the back work as a solid trio and the midfield three work as a solid trio. I don't care who you are, it's hard work trying to break down a tight and organized 6 man middle.
  6. Huge praise, indeed. Robertson burned a hole through the entire Manchester United left side, for the entire 90 minutes. Attacking and defending, the lad is getting better and better. He worked harder and did more than all of the Man United team put together. If a team does buy Robertson then it'll be £90+ million. By sheer effort and application he puts Paul Pogba to shame. Talking of Pogba, he gives more effort into Call of Duty than playing for Man United.
  7. Close, Hamilton. I know. I'm generally all business when I post.
  8. He did well, his usual combative performance. 75 minutes into the Liverpool vs United match. Robertson has been sensational. Definitely my MOTM.
  9. I'm not having a go at you, as such, just people not even involved making random shots. It's cheap and they wouldn't do it in real life. Probably, but for Scotland, I think it's definitely something that McLeish should consider, and it might actually be the solution to the Tierney/Robertson dilemma. Is it banter, though? I don't generally take well to random strangers taking shots at me. It's weird.
  10. And the Lahm, Kimmich and Alaba moving to full back to an anchorman position isn't? How about Robertson starting as a winger? Nothing. It's all about raking. No one will touch you because you have 5,000+ points. But I'm fair game because I have less than 450? Don't think so somehow.
  11. Not really. It's clearly double-standards and it tells the tale of rank in this place. I'm not having it.
  12. Still nothing? Nothing about Mattaus being a left back? Nothing about him being a goalkeeper? Nothing about him doubling as a kitman and a center back? Huh.
  13. Kinda makes me sad that salient points are met with sarcasm. Says more about the replier than I ever could. Anyway. I'm expecting Robertson to have another storming match against Man United. United are facing tons of injuries so hopefully McToninay gets the nod.
  14. Ah, I'm just waiting on the sarcastic comments from someone about Mattaus moving from attacking mid to sweeper. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
  15. We're talking about a guy who spent his entire career with Bayern Munich, not Brechin. (Barring a loan spell) So.... no. And people are making jokes at my expense (Bullies need an audience) but one of the best left backs in the world (Robertson) started at Celtic's youth sides as a left winger, now he's a full back. It would appear that most people think of footballers as being linear and unable to play anywhere else, which is rather sweet when you think about it. The better a footballer is the more adaptability he has. Hell, Darren Fletcher played 50+ times as a right back at Manchester United.
  16. People are obsessed with pace. Snodgrass has no pace but technically he is our best player, so he must be in our starting 11. Where? Dunno.
  17. Correct. He's what I would class as a false number 9. Also, if he's playing regularly in La Liga then he's playing in a better league than all of our other players.
  18. Well spotted. I meant second top scorer for Malaga. His goal ratio is 1 in 3. Fletcher's career ratio is 1 in 4, and it's expect Naismith's to be the same. I'd definitely call Harper up as he's playing in an equal standard to any of the strikers you mentioned.
  19. 1.09 It's nice to see him doing well. He's second highest scorer in the league (last time I checked), hopefully McLeish is taking note. If Harper's still in the Malaga first team come our next matches, he should be called up.
  20. So, he played on the left and sometimes inside forward? Yes, those are literally miles away from being a winger. Do you know who Kimmich is? He's the German equivalent of Andy Robertson (maybe even better), who scores more goals than Robertson, sets up as well or maybe more and bombs down the right, he's been moved in the anchoman role and he's thriving. Chances that he'll be the German anchorman for the next 7+ years. To play In the anchorman role you need an engine, you need to have fire in your belly and competitiveness and you have to have good ball retentive skills. Robertson ticks all the boxes. McGregor might be able to play the role in Scotland, but international football is a few steps up. Celtic would be mad to let Scott Brown go. Lucky for us we have Tierney. Yeah. I know. How could I claim to be a Scotland (and football fan) when I know nothing about football. I saw "Baxter" and I instantly thought of soup. I know that it sounds strange but when I think of soup the next thing that I think of chicken wings, why? Well, if you cook a dozen chicken wings in a pan, add a can of Baxter's (tomato, usually) soul, add either taco mix (I'll give you my own recipe if you want) or curry powder (any will do, as they usually contain pretty much the same spices: Paprika, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Cumin, Mustard seeds, Chilli powder, Salt, Sugar, nutmeg... am I forgetting anything? No. I don't think so.) Two or three tablespoons will do. If you want to add a little bit of extra richness to the dish then I would recommend a cup or two of coconut milk. Anyway. Cook all that up in a pan with a lid for 20-25 minutes, add roughly cut opinions (One brown and one red), cook some brown rice (or if you work out, like me, use Quinoa as it's loaded with protein) I assume that you know how to cook rice, right? (add double the quantity of water. Example: If you use one cup rice then add two cups of water). Oh, remember to first steep the rice in water prior to cooking, as it heals to clean them. So yes. This is the recipe to "Baxter's Wingers" All my football knowledge comes to recipes and dishes. You should try my Spaghetti Balotelli, Cesar Salah, Chicken with Aguero sauce or Beef Lukaku. Delicious.
  21. I'll give you points for effort... but not actual points, I'm not just giving them away.
  22. Probably. Why? Gotta be honest, I have no idea who supports who, nor do I care very much. Yep.
  23. Usually I'd be right there with you, but 22 in 4k posts. What does he post, Neo Nazi propaganda?
  24. False equivalency as my contention is that a defender could move to a defensive midfield position. Whereas your (hopefully sarcastic quip, either that or you're late for an AA meeting) suggestion is that a winger could double as a center back, is.... cute. Swing and a miss by the guy who has more than 4 thousand posts and only 22 rep points.
  25. I know. I know, plus Moreno isn't really a left back to be trusted so It kinda reduces the chances of it happening. Hopefully Robertson takes Gallacher under his wing and his the good habits rub off. I know. It's a shame that (from a purely selfish point of view, as personally he must've been crushed) we were robbed on a youngster who really could've been a star. Barring illness, Darren Fletcher would've been world class. Apart from that, it's been a while. I know that some don't agree, but Lambert was world class, in my opinion. Fair enough. It would be interesting to see him in the middle of midfield and Tierney at left wingback.
