  1. All games on sky 402, and show most replays during the following day. Also excellent live coverage on radio 5 live, live updates/ feed on bbc website.
  2. Sad to this one move to sky, as peter aliss is worth his weight in gold. However the open coverage the last few years has been all about Rory mcilroy, Justin rose etc even when they are out if contention. Such is the power of TV, and trying to keep the non golf fan audience ( who only watches the open possibly the masters) glued to their screens. Know plenty of people that don't have sky and only watch the open, now it's going off terrestrial television they won't watch it now. At the end of the day it's in the r and a interests. It's a business like any others. And if you don't like golf, watch some thing else. There are plenty of other channels to watch.
  3. Looks quite good this year. I've £50 on Australia and South Africa to be finalists @ 8/1 And Australia and New Zealand to be finalists at 10/1.
  4. Heading to leopardstown in 2 weeks time for the trials day. Have been before and it's 10 minutes on the train, or get the airport bus out, stops at the bewleys hotel. Costs 14 return for bus, but not much night life about, but some good restsurants round the shopping precinct. Entry as said is usually 20, or 40 for top entry, recommend the hospitality.
  5. Go down every now and then to the rheged centre. Cracking place for a night out, and drink is cheap as chips. I'm sure many followers of lower league sides will have been to the football ground, where one can enjoy a wee dram whilst watching the football. And who can forget the truckers stop dugs diner, the ultimate greasy spoon.
  6. Keep it topical. A couple for you's If a person was given all the gifts in the song The Twelve days of Christmas, how many gifts in total would they receive? If you were born on Christmas Day, what star sign would have? Name the 3 wise men? Name the horse which won the derby in 1964?
  7. Enjoy Worcester and Ludlow. They love their racing at Ludlow and always come out for the racing there. Not seen the cards yet, but Henry daly is the man to watch there. Ludlow also has the most expensive restaurants outside of London. Enjoy.
  8. I've been gambling for 30 years, and not got a problem with it. I've had many a big win, but also many a big loss. I don't have any accounts, and bet what I can afford to lose. If i fancy something il have a bet, if I don't I won't. I bet on horse racing and american golf, along with major football tournaments. As these are events that I follow with interest on a daily/weekly basis. And events where I can use my learned knowledge to hopefully gain fruitful pickings. I suppose it's horses for courses, but if you stick to what you know/afford ( everyone will have different limits/niches) gambling is fun, and can be profitable. If not it can be a slippery slope. I was taught two sayings which I have remembered for a long time, and they are: 1. Stick to what you know 2. They tame lions at this game. Be lucky folks
  9. Anyone any big fancies for this today? Gonna have a wee dabble on forgotten rules in the first, and night of thunder in the 1530. Best of luck to all, hope it is profitable.
  10. I've never been, but people who have said it's no royal ascot. A good weekends racing though. If I were to go a lot of my bets would already be placed before I went. Although that would take some of the fun out, 6 euro a drink, that's cheaper than a bottle of bulmers at Perth!!!!
  11. It's the annual quiz team day out. Cracking days racing, and there including a £100k hurdle race this year. Also good racing at ascot and gowran that day. Staying down, and a night out in Ashton should be good. Il forward you a 50% off code if your going to go. Thurles should be good. I ended up at shelbourne dogs instead the day I was contemplating going due to bad weather.
  12. Not for myself this year. Grew disillusioned with the flat this season. Next days racing for myself, is betfair chase day at haydock in November, might squeeze somewhere else in, but I doubt it.
