  1. Totally agree with this.Religion should have no place in the school other than as an academic subject to study. Preferably as part of history.
  2. Sadly I think you're right. The diddies in charge just now really don't care about anything just now but cash.
  3. Try reading. I'm not blaming the schools, just pointing out that I think they don't help. They could be a good way to educate by showing we are all the same (except you Ek_celt obviously ?) but instead they make the different faiths into an obvious difference. That's my opinion but if you don't agree fair enough.
  4. Not 100% sure as my memory is appalling in general but I think this was done in the past. Nothing has come from the current regime.Seem to remember something about the time Amoruso was the Captain. Problem is the cretins don't care. They don't even see the idiocy of singing their songs and cheering on the Catholic players at the club.
  5. FFS can you read? There's no excuse for sectarianism. There are however lots of things that prevent education. Anything that discourages different faiths and races from mixing slows down any progress in getting rid of bigotry. Kids always pick on people who are different in any way. A different school uniform is just one of many things but it could be eradicated quite easily. I don't actually know why we need faith specific schools. Religion should only be in the school as an educational subject. There shouldn't be any religious services as it's not a church. But then I am an atheist so I don't think religion should be drummed into kids as it's just a form of brain washing.
  6. Because the fans of every other club are angels aren't they? From personal experience at Scotland games it would be a mistake to sell beer at the games. The TA may not start riots but they are particularly disgusting with their piss head behaviour. There's nothing acceptable about grown men pissing and puking in the streets.
  7. The problem is the clubs set the rules within these associations and turkeys don't vote for Christmas!
  8. However recent behaviour by fans kind of suggests that football fans can't be trusted.
  9. Why do folk feel the need to drink while at football? I really don't get it. A warm beer in a plastic cup in a smelly concrete shite hole? No thanks. The food and drink they currently sell at Ibrox, St Mirren park and Hampden are bad enough without that added to the mix. It's a bit of sad indictment on this country and it's attitude to alcohol that we can't do without for a couple of hours. Also the frenzy of drinking in pubs just before ko and rolling up late demonstrates a serious drink problem in my opinion.
  10. The police could take action but don't. It is a dereliction of their duty to turn a blind eye.I think if they did their job then the clubs could use that for the Civil action you talk about. Fines and cup expulsions would be effective punishments in my opinion. Points deductions would be a step up from their for repeated offending?
  11. This is also my experience but as another poster has said already said parents are at the root of the problem. If kids are indoctrinated at home they can't get a chance to see other denominations if they don't share a school. When I was younger we had a bampot that wouldn't let his boy play with any Catholics. The boy was not a problem but his Dad was. If one of our Catholic friends turned up to play football the boy had to go as his Dad would have punished him. The boy couldn't find out that religious differences don't change the person because he wasn't allowed to. If they had shared a school this couldn't have happened as easily. I've since met the guy and he is a bigot now. Created by his Dad and lack of life experience. Ive seen this from both angles enough times to know that although the schools are not a cause they also don't help cure the problem either. I do think that the modern religious education is so much better now that this helps too but if all kids went to the one school there would be much less chance of early indoctrination.
  12. I don't think thats what he's trying to say.The fact that kids of different religions go to different schools is divisive. Kids pick on anyone that's different. I know I'm over simplifying but it's a fact. The schools don't cause the problem but they do get in the way of curing it, in my opinion.
  13. For a change it was just a partially factual reference to the fact he's a !
  14. I don't know tbh. Very possibly. I'm just not that old. ?
  15. Never understood why the home team would do this. Do the TV companies ask for it or is there some other simpler reason?
  16. Pretty sure there was a rendition of this at Wembley at the last game, so definitely still about. Also heard it on a few buses from the Ferry to Hampden but that was probably about 6 or 7 years ago. Always thought it was a childish thing so sing so never have, but then again I don't sing that much compared to some due to my incredibly awful voice.
  17. I think this is probably accurate. The anti-Catholic bigotry pre-dates Rangers and will be here after Rangers. Not all Orangemen support Rangers. And not all Rangers supporters are Orangemen. See, I can agree when you're being sensible. ?
  18. Sarcasm now. Yep, you're definitely losing it.If you've read some of my recent posts on another thread i actually said that it would be possible to make every poster on here look stupid by trolling the archive, as I'm sure we've all said stuff that would now make us look foolish. But you were in. I've got work to do now. ?
  19. Touchy this morning aren't you?Sense of humour bypass seems to have worked really well for you. The only tears in my eyes are from laughing at your over sensitive response. Guess I struck a nerve.
  20. Not motivated by, contributed to.It's a rather large difference when you actually use the correct wording.
